Chapter 65: 【065】Air-to-ground blocking battle

In the dim jungle, Scott and Nightwing advanced rapidly.

They had to reach the site and recover the Perfect Creature before it was captured by the Qilin’s people.

Suddenly, an inconspicuous silver line appeared in front of Scott; caught off guard, his neck was instantly decapitated by the silver line.

On the other side, Nightwing reacted extremely quickly; just as he was about to be decapitated by the silver line, he drew his sword and slashed forward, instantly splitting the silver line in front of him into two.

“Be careful, it’s an ambush!”

Scott’s body and head were separated, but the blood gushing from the severed neck connected to his head like a rope; this was one of his abilities, Blood Manipulation.

He manipulated his blood to spin his head, and upon careful observation, he found that the jungle was full of silver lines.

The heads and tails of these silver lines were connected to a very, very tiny bubble, looking like miniature bolas, and the most terrifying thing was that they could move.

Before he could even think of a solution, two bubbles connected by a silver line instantly severed one of his arms from his blind spot, forcing him to reattach his arm with blood, but with the hand nerves severed, this arm would be unusable until reattached.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Dense silver lines moved with the bubbles, constantly launching attacks from various angles, giving Scott and Nightwing no time to breathe.

“What kind of ability is this, where is the enemy?”

Scott’s body was gradually being cut into many pieces; if he couldn’t control his blood, he would have died from excessive bleeding long ago.

In contrast, Nightwing, who was with him, wielded two swords, perfectly defending against all silver line attacks; his swords were clearly not ordinary items, but rather transcendent-level weapons, capable of severing the silver lines with a single slash.

High in the sky, Yu Xian calmly watched the two perform; he didn't believe they were truly in a tough battle.

The logic was very simple.

These two were coming for the Perfect Creature or their Evil Extermination Squad, or perhaps both.

Gong Qian’s battle had caused such a commotion, so they had no reason to misjudge the opponent’s strength; therefore, since they dared to come, they must have the confidence to win.

If they couldn't even handle his little trick, were they coming to die?

Assuming that the two were stronger than him, Yu Xian had no intention of clashing head-on with them; battle wasn't about levels, nor was it about stats, but about flexibility, on-the-spot reactions, and combat wisdom.

At this moment, Scott and Nightwing on the ground both realized that the hidden enemy would not fall for it; they exchanged a glance, then with Nightwing as the vanguard, they directly broke through forward.

Scott being decapitated by the silver line was real; the First attack was indeed too sudden, and his neck was severed, but the second time his arm was severed was fake; in the subsequent series of attacks from Yu Xian, he selectively endured some seemingly fatal but actually not very harmful attacks, mixing truth with falsehood.

Logically, since they were already in an absolute disadvantage, the enemy should have come out to ask who they were, or to investigate what force they belonged to.

However, the attacker had no intention of showing himself.

Since one plan failed, Scott and Nightwing simply used an overt strategy: attack what the enemy must defend!

The opponent clearly did not want them to approach the battlefield where the Perfect Creature was located, so if they just charged forward regardless, they could force the opponent to reveal themselves.

At this time, Nightwing’s dual swords danced impenetrably; wherever he passed, whether silver lines or trees, everything was split in two; he walked in a straight line, killing all who blocked his path.

Scott hid within Nightwing’s sword light, attaching his hand to the severed point; blood acted like glue, bonding the two together, and in just a few seconds, all his injuries were repaired by the coagulated blood, leaving only scars formed by the blood.

He took out an arrow from his Storage Ring, saying regretfully, “Damn it, I have to waste a Wolf Class treasure.”

Saying that, he smeared his blood on the arrow, then tossed the arrow upwards; the arrow immediately flew towards the sky, and he looked up at the sky and said, “The enemy is in the air.”

No sooner had he finished speaking than the arrow suddenly disappeared; then, as he took a step, his other foot, which had just lifted, had not yet landed when the arrow he had shot emerged from the ground, instantly piercing through his sole.

“Ah!!!!”

Scott immediately let out a scream, his body carried by the arrow, hanging upside down in the air, and rapidly flying towards Yu Xian’s direction.

Any spatial ability user with teleportation abilities, if they use their abilities well, can stand undefeated even if they cannot kill enemies beyond their level.

Yu Xian had been observing the two from high in the sky after strengthening his vision with Silver Blood; their every move was within his sight, and Scott’s little tricks could not escape him.

Upon seeing the arrow, he manipulated a bubble hidden underground to quickly move towards Scott himself, then used another bubble to collect the arrow and teleport it under Scott’s foot.

Theoretically, as long as he could react to an attack, he could transfer all of them; only attacks whose speed far exceeded his reaction speed posed a threat to him.

For example, some of the Perfect Creature’s attacks were so fast that he couldn't react at all; the bubbles would instantly be destroyed, leaving no time for manipulation.

Scott’s speed was too slow compared to the Perfect Creature; Yu Xian could easily transfer all of his attacks.

Useless!

Nightwing saw Scott injured by his own attack, cursed silently, but still turned and leaped up, severing the arrowhead of the arrow with a single slash.

After landing, he quickly cut down the surrounding silver lines, buying Scott time to heal.

Scott pulled out the arrow without an arrowhead from his sole, then took off his shoe, quickly took out a healing spray and sprayed it, then took out new shoes and changed into them.

The entire process took about four to six seconds; after completing everything, the two tacitly continued their breakthrough.

Their tacit understanding was not because they frequently cooperated and were familiar with each other, but because their rich combat experience gave them the same understanding of combat; this was an unstated consensus.

Now both knew the enemy was in the sky, but the problem was that neither of them had the ability to fly.

Among transcendent beings, flight ability was not particularly rare, but not everyone had it; about thirty percent of transcendent beings could fly using their own abilities, another twenty percent could fly by combining their abilities with technology or by riding pets, and the rest could only run on the ground.

Scott and Nightwing had anti-air methods, but because they lacked flight ability, their margin for error was not high; both ran while looking for opportunities to counterattack.

Moreover, the counterattack had to be fast, accurate, and ruthless.

Otherwise, their attacks could be transferred back to themselves in a minute, and Scott’s sole was the best lesson.
