“Where did you see it? Are you sure it was a dinosaur?” Zheng Fan immediately asked.
“It was on that stretch of Beixiao Road. Speaking of which, Evil Mr., don’t you know? Recently, many people down here have been talking about seeing dinosaurs.”
Hearing this, Zheng Fan’s gaze shifted outwards, listening to the increasingly clear sound of rain outside: “I haven’t really been out much these past few days. Can I still see it if I go now?”
“I don’t know, but the dinosaur I saw was quite cute.” Jiang Si seemed quite happy recalling it.
“Let’s take care of your business first, then we’ll go see.” Zheng Fan said.
Jiang Si had no objections; she also seemed quite eager to see the dinosaur again.
She skillfully handled the scene, displaying a different kind of efficiency, and finally put the target person’s head into a bag and carried it away.
It’s worth noting that Jiang Si used red threads to wrap the corpses like cocoons. When the red threads disappeared, the corpses were astonishingly gone.
It was simply like magic.
When Zheng Fan asked about it, she just playfully said, “A little trick I discovered myself.” She even kept him in suspense.
After some time, she roamed through the underground black market of Tuonaduolei Street, meeting with several contacts.
After some maneuvering, she secured a large bounty, and finally handed over the head to another group for confirmation before leaving.
There were also attempts to silence her along the way, but these minor characters didn't even pique Zheng Fan's interest enough for him to try his hand.
After finishing all this, Jiang Si didn’t even bother with an umbrella, taking Zheng Fan with her to Beixiao Road.
Beixiao Road is a very long stretch of road, connecting Tuonaduolei Street and Xixikeke Street.
It was late, and the traffic on the road had significantly decreased. On a secluded stretch of road, both sides were covered by dense bushes and trees that had grown wild and untended for a long time.
“It should be somewhere around here. The rain has covered up the traces, which is a bit troublesome.” Jiang Si didn’t care about getting wet; her dress clung to her body when soaked, but due to the material, nothing was revealed.
Although she said that, her figure already spoke for itself, no need for further words.
Some people might like that, but Zheng Fan just wanted to see the dinosaur right now.
He could see those lewd things anytime he wanted, but a dinosaur might be a limited-time opportunity!
One must distinguish between primary and secondary priorities.
Zheng Fan glanced around, then grabbed one of his hands, and with a gentle twist, his entire arm came off.
Jiang Si’s eyes lit up at the sight: “Is this a magic trick?”
“No, it’s Evil’s magic.” Zheng Fan chuckled, rubbing his arm with one hand, and the hand turned into modeling clay.
He had been practicing body separation recently and was getting a bit more skilled.
This could be done without a singularity, but on the other hand, it relied purely on Zheng Fan’s own proficiency, just like basic transformation. Fortunately, Zheng Fan’s talent in being an Illusion was indeed good, and he had already achieved some results.
“Let me knead it, let me knead it.” To his surprise, Jiang Si was eager to try.
Zheng Fan hesitated, then handed it to Jiang Si: “Alright, give it a try.”
Jiang Si boldly took it, and unexpectedly, she began to knead it very professionally. Before long, Zheng Fan’s hand gradually took on a mature new contour.
“Oh~, you’ve practiced.”
Jiang Si softly said, “A friend taught me when I was little.”
“Is it that friend?”
“Mm.”
Zheng Fan nodded, looking at Jiang Si’s skilled movements, and a slight anticipation also arose within him.
Then…
“Ta-da~!” Jiang Si held up her creation like a certain blue cat robot showing off a new gadget. She had sculpted a—hand!
“…That’s amazing, it’s truly lifelike.” Zheng Fan only had one hand and couldn’t clap, so he changed his approach and slapped Jiang Si on the back of her head.
“I turn my hand into ‘modeling clay,’ and you sculpt another hand for me, huh?!”
Jiang Si clutched her head and crouched down: “Just tell me if I sculpted it well or not?”
Zheng Fan clicked his tongue in disdain, directly transforming the arm, letting it turn into a small black sparrows that flew high into the sky to act as a reconnaissance plane.
“Evil Mr., you don’t understand,” Jiang Si stood up and said, “For nighttime reconnaissance, birds should be owls, not sparrows. How can sparrows be competent for reconnaissance missions?”
Zheng Fan knew what she was thinking; she was still hoping Zheng Fan would transform into Mr. Brachio for her, that cartoon owl she liked so much.
Seeing this, Zheng Fan said nothing, and lightly snapped his fingers.
The sparrows in the sky emitted grayish-white beams of light, strong enough to make people curse “high-beam dogs” at oncoming cars, sweeping everywhere.
Zheng Fan looked at Jiang Si, provocatively wiggling his eyebrows.
Jiang Si: “…”
“Found it.” Without giving Jiang Si too much time to feel awkward, Zheng Fan suddenly turned to look into the distance; the separated sparrows had made a discovery.
The separated body could still maintain a certain degree of synchronization.
The only pity was that the separated body couldn't achieve independent regeneration and completion. Whatever size it was when separated, it would only be that size no matter how it transformed. At most, it could compress and become smaller, but it definitely couldn't get bigger.
Furthermore, Zheng Fan hadn’t yet mastered regenerating his own missing parts while maintaining the existence of the separated body.
It was not on the same level as multitasking; that subtle barrier felt very much like the bottleneck Zheng Fan encountered when he first tried to create the unique lure of a bait Illusion but failed.
It seemed he had found a method. If he could separate parts of his body while completing himself, perhaps he could touch upon the ability to create lures.
He controlled the sparrows, which were once his arm, to shrink and dim their searchlights, avoiding further alarming the recent target.
The sparrows' perspective was just a fleeting glimpse; he hadn't clearly seen what the dinosaur looked like, but its size seemed small.
As they got closer, Jiang Si noticed immediately: “The smell of blood. Although a lot of it has been covered by the rain, I can smell it at this distance.”
Saying that, she probed into the bushes on one side.
Her courage to stick her face into the bushes was truly admirable. Zheng Fan recalled the sparrows, and they flew to the location of Zheng Fan’s severed arm, wriggling and expanding to return to the shape of an arm.
Only then did he slowly follow Jiang Si. Finally, behind the bushes, the two saw a dinosaur about the size of a medium-sized dog.
It was covered in yellowish-brown fur, and its slender tail had black rings, looking fluffy like a raccoon’s tail.
Its round little eyes immediately looked at Jiang Si and Zheng Fan with alert.
“It actually appeared, it’s not an Illusion, is it?” Zheng Fan, the master of Illusion, said in surprise.
Dragon Bird?
Zheng Fan had no strong impressions of dinosaurs, only remembering some slightly iconic ones and some cinematic portrayals.
“So cute, it looks like a baby!” Jiang Si was very excited.
“Cute?” Zheng Fan peered further behind the little Dragon Bird, where several carcasses of wild cats and dogs were piled up, their foul blood continuously washed away by the rain, flowing into a nearby drain. There were still streaks of blood around the little Dragon Bird’s muzzle.
A sharp hiss came, and the little Dragon Bird spread its legs, its leg muscles taut.
Alright, it did seem pretty cute.
“Go touch it.” Zheng Fan said to Jiang Si.
“Okay!” Jiang Si responded.
Before her words fell, the little Dragon Bird in front of them suddenly burst forward, pouncing towards Jiang Si.
Then, with a flick of Jiang Si’s finger, it was suspended in mid-air by red threads. With a slight tightening, the red threads cut into the Dragon Bird’s flesh, and blood flowed out and dripped along the threads.
Jiang Si gently pulled, drawing the bound Dragon Bird into her arms, not minding that it was cut and bruised all over.
“Cute, isn’t it?”
“…You’re also quite cute.” Zheng Fan commented, watching the scene.
