Chapter 91: Hound, Cat, Bird

The man, speeding down the road on his motorcycle, looked back to confirm his target hadn't caught up, and slightly slowed down.

He dialed a number on his phone: "I encountered the Red Line Killer that was rumored before. Her strength is stronger than expected. I tested her with the current Tyrannosaurus Rex, but the dinosaur's strength isn't enough yet."

"Did you get away?"

"It's said that the Killing demon's tracking ability is very strong, so I retreated as soon as she became aware of my presence. The distance was already quite far, so she shouldn't be able to catch up."

"Come back immediately."

"Understood."

The man hung up the call. Suddenly, the Compsognathus clinging to his shoulder turned its head, looked up, and shrieked.

"What's wrong?!" The man immediately became alert.

The Compsognathus's expression actually showed human-like terror. It then turned its head to look behind the man, screaming repeatedly.

Its small claws tore through the man's clothes and dug into his flesh.

But the man was clearly more concerned with what the Compsognathus had seen.

Could it be... some kind of high-level Illusion?!

Was the Red Line Killer actually involved with Illusion?!

When he realized this, the man couldn't help but panic, but he immediately forced himself to calm down.

It's fine. Even if the Compsognathus, as a sub-body of a high-level Illusion, can see it, he himself cannot interact with it.

No matter how powerful the opponent is, she can't do anything to him in reality!

If a high-level Illusion can't find a "window," it's even extremely difficult for it to do anything to interfere with one's mind, and he also has another sub-body of a high-level Illusion on him, so he won't be easily affected.

"Tell me her movements. Don't describe too much, just state the direction," he said in a deep voice to the Compsognathus.

The Compsognathus, however, couldn't calm down and let out a sharp, long shriek.

The hurricane howled, and the rain was blown about wildly.

A gigantic figure suddenly appeared above the man.

A terrifying wingspan, a protruding crest, a sharp, long beak—a huge Quetzalcoatlus.

"What are you doing! Put it away quickly!" the man shouted anxiously, not understanding why the Compsognathus's reaction was so intense.

If something was chasing them from behind, wouldn't distorting and shaping such a massive target expose his own whereabouts?

The Compsognathus directly climbed onto the man's head, completely disregarding what the man said. Its pupils constantly dilated and contracted, staring fixedly behind them.

From a perspective the man couldn't see.

In mid-air, a flock of black birds, like flying arrows, darted through the rain. A group of black mad dogs and black cats, drooling, sped towards the man with astonishing speed.

Those gray eyes, devoid of any emotion or life, were so conspicuous in the rainy night, like ghosts.

Their movements, even for the Compsognathus, which could interact with them, were silently terrifying.

The Quetzalcoatlus flapped its wings and pounced towards the black birds in the sky.

The next moment, a shrill scream came from mid-air.

The man, accelerating again due to the urgency brought by the Compsognathus, shivered at the scream. He glanced at the motorcycle's rearview mirror and saw an unforgettable scene.

The enormous Quetzalcoatlus was repeatedly pierced by an unknown entity in mid-air, instantly riddled with holes. Its body was then torn apart, dismembered.

An indescribable terror swept over the man as the Quetzalcoatlus's fragments fell to the ground.

The Compsognathus cried out again, and a group of Velociraptors appeared in response, immediately in a sprinting state, brushing past the man's motorcycle to meet the pursuers from behind.

The man stared blankly into the rearview mirror.

The Velociraptors collided with the unknown entities, either being torn apart on the spot, or being tackled to the ground, or having their necks twisted, or their heads directly crushed and exploded.

The pursuers... not just one?

No! Calm down! Calm down!

Don't waver. No matter how powerful the opponent is, she can't touch him...

The Compsognathus suddenly scratched his head with its claws, crying out urgently as if to warn him of something.

As a speeding black hound approached to a certain extent, its mouth suddenly opened wide, its upper and lower jaws separating more than 180 degrees, and then a heavy machine gun emerged from its mouth!

And this heavy machine gun, the man saw it without the Compsognathus needing to warn him.

This heavy machine gun, appearing so abruptly not far behind him, seemed to be carried by something as it charged, its muzzle already pointed at him!

"Stop it!" the man cried out.

The moment the machine gun opened fire, several herbivorous dinosaurs were shaped, one after another crashing behind to form a meat shield to block. These herbivorous dinosaurs, formed by event distortion, had considerable body strength, and the machine gun's widespread spray failed to penetrate them.

From the Compsognathus's perspective, a black cat leaped up, its mouth open, spitting out a rocket propelled grenade that directly blew open a path through the herbivorous dinosaur meat shield. Other groups of cats and dogs either trampled through the fiery debris or circled around the sides.

Watching the unknown pursuers, no longer concealing themselves and revealing real-world hot weapons, the man's cold sweat mixed with rain streamed down.

That's right, the Illusion mechanism couldn't touch him, but if that Illusion could manifest things in the real world...

The man dared not continue straight, constantly driving his motorcycle with reckless abandon, making sharp turns and changing lanes in the heavy rain to dodge the hail of bullets and try to delay the pursuers.

The cats and dogs' movements were indeed not perfectly coordinated. They were easily shaken off during sharp turns, even colliding with each other in a sorry state.

This was Zheng Fan's first large-scale operation of sub-bodies, and his lack of proficiency caused this; otherwise, even the quality of these fragmented sub-bodies should have caught up to the opponent long ago.

However, it was not a big problem.

The Compsognathus continuously released various types of pterosaurs to intercept attacks from the air, which were the greatest threat to the man.

However, it was merely a "signal station" sending out commands, and such high-intensity attacks were pushing it to its limits.

Due to a momentary lapse, a black bird easily tore through the encirclement of pterosaurs that had sacrificed themselves to form, flew over the heads of the Compsognathus and the man, and then dropped a bomb below them.

The man watched the bomb fall in front of him. The Compsognathus turned its head, wanting to cry out, but it was too late to make a sound.

Boom!

A flash of fire, which even the heavy rain could not obscure, ignited, accompanied by a tremendous roar that spread and diffused, then quickly faded, leaving only the pouring rain.

The tattered motorcycle was smeared with flames. The man's fragmented consciousness returned. He felt intense pain all over his body, and moving even slightly made him grimace.

The dazzling flames in front of him made it impossible to see clearly. The ringing in his ears still lingered, and after he barely recovered, all he seemed to hear was the endless sound of rain.

After today, he would definitely hate rainy days.

Assuming he even had a "later."

The Compsognathus was dead, its slender body twisted beyond recognition, its mouth agape, its eyes wide, but utterly silent.

Suddenly, the Compsognathus's corpse was picked up by something.

The man blinked, his vision growing increasingly blurry.

Finally, before losing consciousness, he saw it.

The black hound with gray eyes silently watched his death, while the black cats frolicked in the great fire, playing with the torn dinosaur corpses.

Ominous birds circled overhead, yet they were unwilling to let out even a single funeral song.

Letting him know that he was stepping into an endless black hell.
