Chapter 3: Chapter meets the attendant, mother's love

The next morning, after breakfast, Martin summoned the ten attendants before him. He checked their loyalty one by one and found that everyone's loyalty was generally around fifty.

However, one person was different; his loyalty was as high as sixty-one.

This man appeared to be about thirty years old, with a striking scar on his face, winding from his forehead down to his neck.

His sparse hair, combined with his fierce yet somewhat cunning eyes, made him look exactly like a sly old wolf.

Martin walked up to him and asked, "What's your name?"

The man knelt on one knee and respectfully replied, "Sir, my name is Beitan. I am honored by your selection and wish to become your most loyal subordinate."

Martin nodded with satisfaction: "Very good, you won't regret this choice. From now on, you are their captain. Later, you will come out with me."

After speaking, he waved his hand, and Beitan led the others to prepare.

Just then, a maid lightly stepped into Martin's room, bowed, and said, "Young Master Martin, Lady Ally has asked you to come to her room."

Martin vaguely guessed why Lady Ally had called him and readily agreed.

Martin led the way, with the maid following behind, as they passed through room after room.

On the walls inside, exquisite oil paintings, gleaming armor and weapons were displayed in sequence, along with lifelike magical beast specimens. Each item was perfectly placed, as if it was born to be in that position, showing the profound skill of the person who arranged them.

Before long, they arrived at Lady Ally's door. The maid stepped forward and gently knocked on the door.

Lady Ally's clear voice came from inside: "The door isn't closed, come in." After Martin entered the room, the maid discreetly closed the door, bowed, and withdrew.

"Good morning, Mother," Martin said, bowing to Lady Ally, mimicking the maid's gesture.

This action made Lady Ally chuckle softly, but she wouldn't be so easily appeased.

"Martin, my child, tell me, why do you need those ten guards? You should know that I will not agree to you doing anything adventurous."

Although Lady Ally was the daughter of a viscount and grew up in a noble family, she had often heard stories of impulsive young men who, after reading a few adventure books, ran off to explore.

Martin quickly and patiently explained to Lady Ally, repeatedly assuring her that he would not take anyone on adventures, but merely wanted to cultivate some people to help him earn money. Only after his repeated assurances did Lady Ally feel at ease.

In fact, Lady Ally called Martin not to reprimand him, as things were already as they were.

She called Martin over because she wanted to give him the gold coins she had saved. She knew that Martin, without a fief, could not afford to support those Knight Attendants at all.

Even a powerful Earl White's Territory was no exception.

If the fief had not been on the border, Earl Walter would certainly not have supported five Knight Orders like a warmonger.

Such high maintenance costs meant that most of the gold coins in the fief were invested in the Knight Order.

"Mother, don't worry, I already have a preliminary way to make money, and supporting ten Knight Attendants is absolutely no problem," Martin said confidently.

Lady Ally looked at the spirited Martin before her and sighed softly: "I hope so. Take these gold coins for now, and we can talk about it when you have more money later."

As she spoke, a Space Ring was handed to Martin. Martin could not refuse and had to accept it, sincerely thanking her: "Thank you, Mother."

As soon as he finished speaking, Lady Ally seemed to suddenly remember something interesting, turned her head, and with a playful look in her eyes, looked at Martin and whispered softly, "Dear little Martin, in a few days, your lovely second sister will be hosting a grand and magnificent banquet."

She paused briefly, then continued with anticipation, "By then, there will surely be many beautiful, charming, and outstanding girls. If any girl can make our handsome little Martin's heart flutter, be sure to tell Mother, and Mother will fully support you!"

After speaking, she gently patted Martin's shoulder.

Looking at his mother's enthusiastic expression, Martin was truly torn between laughter and tears. He was only fifteen years old; it was far too early to worry about his lifelong affairs.

However, seeing his mother's stance, he knew he couldn't refuse and could only nod in agreement.
