Chapter 2: A completely unfamiliar world

“The fastest way is to find this World's Bruce Wayne, if such a person exists in this World.”

“From what I know of myself, he wouldn't believe that Peter Parker has another Bruce Wayne's soul inside him, so my best approach is to knock him out directly, imprison him, until I can research a way to return to my original World.”

Batman looked at Peter Parker's computer, which seemed to be cobbled together and self-assembled, with its case replaced by a shoebox.

It looked dilapidated, but fortunately, its operation wasn't sluggish. Batman quickly opened a web browser and searched for a series of keywords.

As his fingertips danced across the keyboard, Batman's expression grew increasingly serious, and finally, he simply stood up and went to the window to watch the traffic on the street outside.

This World had no cities like Gotham, Metropolis, or Central City, and similarly, no rich second-generation Bruce Wayne. This wasn't a parallel Universe, but a completely unfamiliar World.

There were no Kryptonians who landed in Kansas farms via spaceship, no demigod princesses from Paradise Island, but there was a guy in a red and blue bodysuit calling himself Spider-Man.

“Everything starts from Zero. The time to return has been infinitely extended. But this won't defeat me, because I am Batman.”

“I need money, a venue, equipment, gear, and complete control over this body.”

Batman clenched his fist, clearly remembering the sudden chill that appeared in Dr. Otto's laboratory during the day, just before the alarm sounded.

He would not allow any abilities outside his control to manifest. Since he had to start from scratch in this World, he must formulate a comprehensive plan and ensure everything was within his grasp.

As he tightened his fist, Batman discovered another thing: this body possessed immense strength, far exceeding his previous human limits.

While it was far from the power he wielded when wearing the Hell Bat armor, it was conservatively estimated to be twenty tons of force.

This strength didn't make Batman complacent about having transmigrated into a good body; instead, it made him extremely anxious.

Precognition of danger, strength far beyond ordinary people, inexplicably transmigrating into this body, the whereabouts of Peter Parker's soul... every single thing was outside Batman's control.

Taking a deep breath, Batman immediately began searching Peter Parker's rented apartment.

Online information about Peter Parker merely stated he was an ordinary university student. Batman needed to find more information about Peter from his apartment.

Soon, a red and blue bodysuit covered in spiderweb patterns, two small wrist-mounted devices, a diary, and several cans of chemical raw materials were laid out by Batman on Peter Parker's somewhat cluttered computer desk.

The suit looked exactly like the Spider-Man suit he had just seen on the computer, and the two small devices were Spider-Man's web-shooters.

The diary was messy; the first few pages seemed to have been used as scratch paper by Peter Parker, covered in chemical formulas.

Batman carefully distinguished them and found that these were indeed the formula for the web fluid in the web-shooters, and the few cans of chemical raw materials were already pre-mixed semi-finished products, only needing to be combined in a certain proportion to obtain the fluid.

The later pages contained Peter Parker's hand-drawn designs, which were the blueprints for the Spider-Man suit.

All evidence indicated that Peter Parker was Spider-Man.

As night fell, Batman had no intention of sleeping. He quickly located a nearby Abandoned Shipyard on the map, changed into a black outfit of Peter Parker's, and left the apartment.

“I need to fully master this body's speed, strength, reaction time, senses, etc., but currently, I can only test strength and speed.”

The Abandoned Shipyard appeared eerie and terrifying in the night, with creaking sounds whenever the wind blew.

The exposed pipes with foul Water and the accumulated industrial waste made this a place even beggars wouldn't frequent.

Batman's luck was good; he found a rusted gantry crane here, with a dozen or so counterweights scattered on the ground nearby.

After testing, his strength in a normal state reached twenty-five tons, and his speed, boosted by his super strength, reached 190 km/h when running at full tilt.

At the same time, Batman found that no matter what kind of obstacle or how complex the terrain, his reaction speed could handle it with ease.

Possessing this series of physical conditions, Batman couldn't help but look at the two web-shooters he had brought with him.

Recalling the video of Peter Parker swinging through the air with various flamboyant postures, Batman's mouth twitched. After a moment of hesitation, he still put on the web-shooters.

Two minutes later, a visibly awkward Batman took off the web-shooters. Even though he had previously used grappling hooks with similar functions, he still couldn't adapt to Peter Parker's overly ostentatious web-swinging.

“If I use special exertion techniques, both strength and speed can reach another level.”

Batman silently recorded all the data about this body in his mind, and at the same time, had already drawn up a complete training plan.

He would not abandon training just because Peter Parker's body was so powerful; in his mind, these powers didn't truly belong to him.

Muscle memory, conditioned reflexes, combat techniques—Batman needed to re-train every single one.

For the next three days, apart from the necessary one or two hours of sleep, Batman spent his days traversing the streets and alleys of New York to learn everything about this World, and his nights in black attire, continuously training his body at the Abandoned Shipyard.

At the same time, using his student identity at Empire State University, Batman secretly used the school laboratory to analyze his blood composition and conducted tests on all aspects of this body, including self-healing ability and sensory intensity.

From the clues Peter left behind, Batman had already investigated the source of all this body's abilities: a genetically mutated spider.

Even the intangible “danger sense,” Batman found in Peter Parker's notes, was named “Spider-Sense.”

“From a scientific perspective, this ability is the brain's super-fast, subconscious-level processing of microscopic environmental changes, ultimately projected into consciousness as an 'alarm.' ”

“In that case, I can train it specifically.”

In the deepest part of the Abandoned Shipyard, a warehouse had been cleared out by Batman. On its walls hung a large map of New York City.

Over fifty thumbtacks of various colors were pinned to the map, and around the map were character profiles cut from different newspapers or handwritten.

These were the active and relatively large Gang organizations in New York. Batman stood with his arms crossed in front of the map, as if he had designated all of New York as his hunting ground.

“Experimenting with and building an instrument that can precisely locate my original World requires a large amount of capital and space. I'll have to start from scratch and build a business empire like Wayne Group in New York to support it.”

“Dr. Otto's nuclear fusion energy is a good business opportunity, but I need startup capital to get involved.”

“The first pot of gold will come from these Gangs.”
