Chapter 25: Closing the stall

“Xiao Lan, this is… Sorry, I forgot your name.” Wang Hao was about to introduce her when he suddenly got stuck, looking at Cheng Yufei awkwardly.

Cheng Yufei, however, was very generous. She smiled and introduced herself, “Hello, my name is Cheng Yufei. Just call me Feifei. I might be bothering you all for a while.” With that, she extended her hand to Wang Lan.

“Hello, I’m Wang Hao’s younger sister, Wang Lan.” Wang Lan also extended her hand and lightly shook Cheng Yufei’s, her smile as bright as a blooming flower in spring.

Wang Lan smiled and looked curiously back and forth between Wang Hao and Cheng Yufei, muttering to herself, “This is that streamer from yesterday, right? How did Brother get involved with her?”

Wang Hao didn't notice his sister's thoughts. He turned to Wang Lan and said, “When we close the stall later, this... um, Feifei? Is coming to our house for dinner.”

Cheng Yufei smiled and nodded, then asked casually, “Oh, so your name is Wang Hao, Boss!”

Actually, Cheng Yufei felt a little annoyed, after all, she had already introduced herself yesterday, but this boss still hadn't told her his name, which was too impolite!

However, Wang Hao completely missed the subtle emotion in Cheng Yufei's tone. He simply responded with a casual “Mm.”

He then continued to explain to his sister the whole story of Cheng Yufei coming over for dinner. Wang Lan listened with great interest and expressed no objection to the matter.

“You two chat for a bit, I need to finish the rest of the fried noodles.” After a quick instruction, Wang Hao got busy again.

After Wang Hao left, Wang Lan's gaze fell directly on Cheng Yufei. She carefully scrutinized the girl who looked to be around her age.

Cheng Yufei had a beautiful, youthful, and lively face, and her outstanding appearance was in no way inferior to the prettiest girls in their school.

At the same time, Cheng Yufei was also observing the simple, pure, and innocent girl in front of her.

From Wang Lan's eyes, Cheng Yufei could tell at a glance that she was still a young girl with little social experience, her eyes revealing the unique clarity of a university student.

The two of them scrutinized each other like this, and finally, it was Cheng Yufei who first broke the slightly awkward atmosphere, smiling and saying, “Xiao Lan, right? I saw you were busy just now, why don't I help you out?”

Hearing Cheng Yufei so enthusiastically offer to help, Wang Lan immediately felt a lot more favorable towards her.

Even if it might just be a polite remark, at least it showed that the other person genuinely had that intention.

So Wang Lan quickly waved her hand and said, “No, no need.” Just like that, the two of them chatted back and forth, occasionally lending a hand with some work, and gradually became more familiar with each other.

For an innocent and naive young girl like Wang Lan, Cheng Yufei displayed the confidence and composure of someone with more experience.

She knew she had relatively rich experience and skills in social interactions, so when interacting with Wang Lan, she was often able to handle things with ease and maintain a certain dominant position.

As the communication between the two became more frequent, Wang Lan also learned more information:

“What? Feifei Jie, you’re already twenty-six? I can’t tell at all, you look like you just graduated!” Wang Lan exclaimed in surprise.

Facing Wang Lan's astonished expression, Cheng Yufei felt very pleased and responded humbly yet with a hint of pride:

“It’s not as exaggerated as you say! I’ve been working for several years now.”

Just as Wang Lan was about to ask Cheng Yufei how she maintained such a youthful appearance, she suddenly heard Wang Hao's call: “Xiao Lan, only ten portions left. Go tell the customers in line.”

“Alright.” Wang Lan readily agreed, then turned and walked towards the line, shouting loudly.

Seeing this, Cheng Yufei quickly followed to help.

After all, she clearly remembered the commotion that had been caused yesterday.

When it comes to handling customer opinions and conflicts, girls naturally have a certain advantage, which is why Wang Hao asked his sister to step forward, as it can effectively avoid some unnecessary trouble.

As expected, the customers who had originally heard that it wasn't their turn and were about to erupt in anger, found their anger unconsciously disappearing without a trace when they saw two delicate and lovely young girls patiently persuading them.

After all, it was just a bite to eat. If they didn’t get to eat it today, there was always tomorrow!

“Congratulations, Advanced Cooking Skill proficiency + 1. Current proficiency: Advanced Cooking Skill 486 / 10000”

Following the pop-up of the last proficiency notification, Wang Hao finally completed his last portion of fried noodles for the day.

After packing up all their equipment and finishing everything, the three quickly quickened their pace and left the Snack Street.

It should be known that Cheng Yufei's influencer effect was still fermenting.

Especially at noon, the area around the already crowded stall was completely surrounded by people, clearly causing serious traffic congestion.

Even after a long time, there was no sign of the crowd dispersing.

Helplessly, Wang Hao only hoped to leave here as soon as possible to clear the traffic quickly, so as not to affect the business of the surrounding vendors, as it was not easy for anyone to make a living.

Wang Lan looked at Cheng Yufei with envious eyes; this kind of attention was exactly what she longed for at her age.

Along the way, the two girls chattered endlessly, as if they had an inexhaustible supply of topics.

Wang Hao looked at their intimate appearance, his heart filled with confusion and bewilderment.

He pondered to himself, these two had just met, yet they looked like old friends who had known each other for a long time? It was truly perplexing!

Seeing that they were almost at the farmers' market, Wang Hao finally couldn't help but interject:

“Um… Feifei, is there any particular dish you’d like to eat? Let me know in advance, we’re almost at the market.”

However, before Cheng Yufei could answer, Wang Lan eagerly took over the conversation:

“Yes, yes, Feifei Jie, just say whatever you want to eat! My brother is a Cooking master! He can make anything, and it tastes super delicious!”

Hearing Wang Lan's praise, Wang Hao couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed.

Cheng Yufei smiled and said, “Actually, I’m not picky. Just buy whatever you usually eat. You don’t need to specially accommodate me!” Her tone was relaxed and natural, seemingly not caring about these details.

Wang Hao felt much more at ease after hearing Cheng Yufei's words. He smiled and nodded in agreement:

“That’s good. Our family usually eats quite simply, mostly home-cooked dishes. But I’ll try my best to make a few more delicious dishes to treat you!”

Although Cheng Yufei said that, Wang Hao naturally wouldn't make dishes that were not hospitable enough. He secretly thought about what to make, as having too many options could also lead to decision paralysis.
