Month-end summary
2023 is over and 2024 is coming.
The novel has been on the shelves for three months. This month, it was selected as a bestseller and successfully obtained the boutique badge. Now the average price is almost 4,000, around 3,900.
So far, the performance of the novel has completely exceeded my expectations. I didn't expect it to be so profitable.
I don’t write full-time, I just write because I feel like writing.
The first book I wrote was about cultivating immortals and I signed a contract, but no one read it and I couldn’t continue writing. The subscriptions were always in the single digits, so... it ended in failure.
The second book was about the entertainment industry, but I had a female protagonist and didn't know how to write about love, so I ended up writing a career story. It was inexplicably liked by a lot of people, and I wrote over three million words in one go. It will be finished next month, and I gained a lot of experience.
The third book was written purely to be a suspense story, but it turned out to be a mess and a mess, but it is indeed an improvement over the first book. Although there are all kinds of weird directions, at least it has a network and the story is concluded.
The fourth book, which is this one, is really a suicide. I changed my pseudonym to write it. When I wrote 100,000 words, I applied for a contract, but it was not accepted. I had no choice but to delete the book and change to this big account to publish it. I originally thought that I had finally written 100,000 words, so I shouldn’t waste it. Maybe with the help of old readers, I can achieve different results.
Well, I really achieved results... I have to thank the lucky editor for his keen eye for talent and for sending me the contract notice very early (so, an experienced author who has written books does have some advantages). Then, I took the PK. I didn’t make it through the first round, and I felt disappointed. However, I made a comeback and after the second round, I didn’t have much hope of advancing, so I chose to put it on the shelves directly.
After it was released, it got over 370 first orders! I was so happy. You probably can't understand how happy a transparent author like me is about this data.
What I didn’t expect was that the number of collections and average subscriptions has been increasing. Moreover, it was recommended by the editor in early November, and was selected as a bestseller this month, reaching the 4,000 average subscription mark in one breath.
Apart from writing the story diligently, I don't know what else to do.
So, as a part-time author, while revising the ending of "I Became the Scandal Heroine Overnight" (the content is already written, but some revisions are needed), writing this book and keeping up with the daily updates, is it tiring? To be honest, I don't feel too tired, on the contrary, I feel very excited.
It’s really that people like it, that’s the source of motivation!
