Chapter 26: Call the master and listen

Gu Yunxi, as if her soul had been extracted, slumped lifelessly by the cold lectern.

Her once impeccable professional skirt was now crumpled around her body, several places even torn open, revealing her fair skin, making her appear even more disheveled.

Disheveled strands of hair clung to her sweat-soaked cheeks; that pretty face, once filled with aloofness and arrogance, now had nothing but crisscrossing tear stains and no trace of color. Her empty gaze stared blankly at the ceiling, as if she had lost the ability to focus.

What slightly surprised Lu Xuan, and immediately filled his heart with an even stronger, more twisted sense of conquest, was the dazzling crimson stain on the lectern.

She hadn't lied after all.

This normally unapproachable, high-and-mighty Professor, whose gaze was usually as cold as ice, was actually…

Lu Xuan's lips curled upwards uncontrollably, the brutality and exhilaration in his heart almost overflowing.

This feeling of pulling a high and sacred existence down from its pedestal and trampling it underfoot was truly intoxicating!

Gu Yunxi, oh Gu Yunxi, your proud aloofness, your inviolable demeanor, from this moment on, they are all shattered to dust!

Lu Xuan stepped forward, bent down, and grabbed a handful of Gu Yunxi's disheveled long hair, forcing her pale little face to lift and meet his gaze.

“Tsk tsk,”

He lowered his head, his nose almost touching hers, with a hint of mockery, but his voice was chillingly devoid of any warmth.

“Gu Professor, I didn't expect you to be so…moist.”

Gu Yunxi’s body trembled violently, and her unfocused eyes finally slowly regained a glimmer of light.

The gaze she directed at Lu Xuan, once filled with deep-seated disgust and fear, was now strangely mixed with a hint of…post-breakdown bewilderment and resigned submission.

“And,”

“From now on, I, Lu Xuan, am your master. Do you hear me?”

He paused, savoring the tears continuously welling up in her eyes and her extreme humiliation.

“If you are disobedient in the slightest, or try any tricks…”

He drew out the end of his sentence, then suddenly leaned close to her ear, whispering in a voice only they could hear, like a devil’s murmur: “I will make sure your evidence of treason appears in all the places it should and shouldn’t be, as quickly as possible. By then, you should know the consequences, right?”

“Mas…Master…” Gu Yunxi’s lips trembled. These two words seemed to drain all the strength from her body, her voice as faint as a mosquito’s buzz, with a heavy nasal tone and an uncontrollable sob.

Tears, like broken strings of pearls, rolled from her phoenix eyes that once disdained everything, splashing onto the cold floor.

Everything she prided herself on was now trampled underfoot by this man, crushed to dust.

“That’s a good girl.”

Lu Xuan’s lips curved in satisfaction. He lowered his head, symbolically kissed her tear-stained cheek, then straightened up, took out his phone, and unhurriedly adjusted the angle towards the disheveled Gu Yunxi.

“Come on, Gu Professor, look at the camera and smile.”

His tone was as light as if he were taking a scenic photo, “This is the beginning of your new life, you should take a few elegant, commemorative photos, otherwise, how can you live up to your status as a teacher?”

“No…don’t…don’t take pictures…”

Gu Yunxi instinctively curled up, her hands futilely trying to cover herself, her voice filled with desperate pleading.

Lu Xuan completely ignored her resistance, simply taking several close-up shots with a “click, click,” before contentedly putting away his phone. He turned and strode out of the classroom without looking back.

In the classroom, only Gu Yunxi remained, trembling silently like a discarded, broken doll.

After a long while, she finally shivered as if waking from a nightmare, and haphazardly wiped the tears from her face.

She frantically straightened her clothes, then, leaning against the wall, stumbled step by step, fleeing this hell that she would never forget.

Lu Xuan walked back to the dormitory in a good mood. His phone vibrated; it was a green bubble from Zhang Yining.

He tapped it open and saw a photo. In the photo, Zhang Yining was wearing a cool spaghetti-strap nightgown.

She was intimately nestled beside the still-sleeping Chen Xue, with a mischievous, devilish grin on her face, and even flashed a “V” sign at the camera.

Chen Xue was sleeping soundly, a faint blush still on her fair cheeks.

Lu Xuan's lips curved into a playful smile, and he replied, “Not bad, Yining is becoming more and more sensible. Keep up the good work, you’ll be rewarded.”

Then he saved the photo.

Back at the dorm, he pushed open the door, and the scent of KFC wafted towards him.

Zhao Qin was sitting with his legs crossed, scrolling through short videos while stuffing chicken pieces into his mouth. Seeing Lu Xuan return, he raised his chin and mumbled, “Yo, Brother Xuan’s back? Come on, buddy, I just ordered a family bucket, want some?”

Lu Xuan glanced at him, a cold sneer in his heart.

Zhao Qin was still the same, always liking to use these cheap small favors to show off his generosity, but in reality, he looked down on people from the bottom of his heart.

In his previous life, when he was down and out, this guy had not said few sarcastic remarks behind his back.

“No thanks, I just ate,” Lu Xuan replied indifferently, walking straight to his bed.

Meanwhile, Chen Min, who had been restless, practically sprang from his bed the moment Lu Xuan entered the door.

He rushed to Lu Xuan in a few steps, his face as pale as a sheet, his lips trembling, his eyes bloodshot and filled with deep worry.

“Xuan… Brother Xuan, you… you’re back…”

His voice was trembling, “Xue’er… Xue’er, is she… is she alright? You… you didn’t do anything to her, did you?” He was almost in tears.

Lu Xuan looked at his distraught appearance, chuckling inwardly, but showing a relaxed expression on his face. He reached out and patted Chen Min’s shoulder, comforting him, “Oh, look at you, so timid! Your brother is on the job, aren't you reassured? Don't worry, Xue’er is perfectly fine. It’s just… she might have played too hard yesterday. She just needs more rest.”

“Played… played too hard?”

Upon hearing this, Chen Min’s face not only didn’t improve, but became even paler, his body swaying as if he might faint at any moment.

Zhao Qin, gnawing on a drumstick nearby, heard the words “Xue’er” and curiously leaned over, his mouth greasy as he asked, “Hey? Xue’er? Who’s Xue’er? Sounds like a girl’s name. Brother Xuan, nice, when did you hook up? Why don’t you introduce her to your buddy?”

At this time, the other people in the dormitory still didn't know that Chen Xue was actually Chen Min's biological sister.
