Chapter 5: I Don't Want to Fight

The Dormitory Manager's withered hand paused slightly, a hint of surprise flashed in his cloudy, dim eyes. He glanced at the key and emblem in his hand, then returned them to Jiang Ming.

"Why do you think so?"

The Dormitory Manager didn't answer directly, but instead asked Jiang Ming why he thought so.

Jiang Ming smiled; he already had the answer in his heart.

"Heh heh, Dormitory Manager, this is Shrek Academy! To be able to stay at Shrek Academy for retirement, someone your age should at least be a Titled Douluo, right?!"

Hearing this, a smile flickered across the Dormitory Manager's aged face. The moving muscles on his face stacked several layers of wrinkles together, enough to probably trap several flies.

"These new students now have quite active minds. Alright, your room is the second one on the left on the second floor. Remember, the fourth floor and above are for girls; going up there will get you expelled!"

The Dormitory Manager reminded him.

"Okay! Thank you, Dormitory Manager, I'll come chat with you again later!"

Jiang Ming held the dormitory key and emblem in his palm, then turned and entered the white dormitory building.

The Dormitory Manager shook his head. His cloudy eyes were still aged, but a hint of sharpness deep within them flickered.

"Interesting child."

Following the Dormitory Manager's instructions, Jiang Ming quickly found his dormitory.

To be honest, the environment wasn't great.

The dormitory building had clearly been there for a long time; the interior was somewhat old, and there were communal bathrooms on both sides of the corridor.

The room number plate hanging on the dormitory door had some rust, showing it had been in service for a long time.

Jiang Ming thought for a moment, inserted the key into the lock, turned it to open, then quickly retreated two steps, avoiding the stagnant, murky air that had accumulated for a long time.

New student dormitories were indeed all like this, no different from the dormitories in his previous life.

After letting the air circulate for a while, Jiang Ming walked into the dormitory and opened the windows inside.

A thick layer of dust had accumulated in the dormitory; stepping on the floor left a clear shoe print, making Jiang Ming feel like he didn't know where to step.

Looking at the surrounding environment, Jiang Ming gently closed his eyes, activated his spirit power, and unleashed his Spirit!

One yellow, two purple, a total of three spirit rings!

Jiang Ming, only twelve years old, had actually reached the three-ring Spirit Elder Realm! Moreover, his second spirit ring was a purple thousand-year spirit ring! This made him an absolute top Genius even in the talent-filled Shrek Academy!

However, while the spirit rings appeared, Jiang Ming's Spirit was nowhere to be seen. There were no characteristics of a Beast Spirit, nor did a Tool Spirit appear. All that was present was the sound of a heartbeat quietly echoing in the dormitory!

The sound of the heart beating was very loud, many times louder than a normal heartbeat.

Furthermore, along with the continuous sound of the heartbeat, the dust throughout the dormitory also began to vibrate slightly.

Each speck of dust bounced with the frequency of the heartbeat, like devout men and women going wild in a discotheque; the scene was very dynamic.

The heartbeat grew faster and faster, and all the dust in the entire dormitory vibrated. They followed the dynamic rhythm, converging before Jiang Ming's eyes into an oversized 'kick-leg, stare-eye pill'.

"Still has a smell."

Jiang Ming wrinkled his nose. Although all the dust in the room had been piled at his feet, the smell still needed to be removed.

This job could only be left to the northwest wind outside the window. It could 'drink' and do work, truly excellent.

Getting rid of the smell would take time. Jiang Ming took out some daily necessities from the Storage Soul Tool at his waist and arranged them one by one.

After taking care of all this, Jiang Ming directly left the dormitory.

The Dormitory Manager downstairs was still lying on the chair. The sunlight fell on his aged face, giving a feeling of yellow hair hanging down and being content.

Jiang Ming walked to the Dormitory Manager's side, swiped his finger over the spirit tool at his waist, and a lounge chair appeared beside the Dormitory Manager.

Jiang Ming leisurely lay down on it, competing with the Dormitory Manager for the sunlight that managed to peek through the buildings.

Truth be told, lying down was indeed more comfortable than standing or sitting. Lying on a lounge chair, holding a book, and absorbing knowledge while gently swaying was truly enjoyable.

The Dormitory Manager beside him had clearly noticed Jiang Ming's action, but he didn't say much, generously sharing the sunlight with Jiang Ming beside him.

Jiang Ming held a book titled 'Basic Structure of Soul Guidance Cannonballs and Core Array Designs for Special Soul Guidance Cannonballs'. He read it with relish, sometimes furrowing his brow, sometimes a slight smile playing on his lips.

The years were peaceful and quiet, and time flowed by quickly without notice.

While Jiang Ming was reading, the new students who came to the dormitory building didn't seem to have good judgment. They just went directly into the building without even greeting this low-key 'sweeping monk'.

Ah, these young people are clueless! Anyone who has read a novel wouldn't be ignorant of these unwritten rules.

After reading for a while, Jiang Ming felt a bit thirsty. With a wave of his hand, a folding table appeared beside him.

Afterward, Jiang Ming took out an ice-blue fruit. It looked like a watermelon, with crystal-clear frost patterns on its oval shape, like a work of art.

A cold light flashed, and the fruit was cut into sixteen uniform pieces. The flesh was light blue, as clear as the sky.

"Dormitory Manager, here, have some melon."

Jiang Ming took out two slices of melon and handed one over.

The Dormitory Manager, who was pretending to sleep, heard Jiang Ming's voice and slowly lifted his eyelids.

"This is a new variety I cultivated myself, ice-vein melon. It's very sweet."

Jiang Ming directly placed the melon in the Dormitory Manager's hand and started eating his own melon with a smile.

The Dormitory Manager glanced at the melon in his hand, then looked at Jiang Ming beside him who was enjoying his melon, and a kindly smile appeared on his face.

Mm, this melon is indeed sweet! It's icy and cool but doesn't freeze the teeth, and it's full of juice. Good melon!

The old man and the young man thus ate melon under the maple tree downstairs from the dormitory building, looking very leisurely and content.

"Dormitory Manager, isn't it delicious? Want another slice?"

After finishing a slice of melon, Jiang Ming flicked his wrist, and the leftover rind flew in a graceful parabola into the trash can not far away.

The Dormitory Manager didn't speak, but extended his hand.

Jiang Ming grinned, took out two more slices of melon, and the old man and the young man started eating melon again.

An old man and a young man eating melon downstairs from the dormitory building, especially this new variety, was somewhat eye-catching.

Sure enough, just as Jiang Ming finished his second slice of melon, before he even threw away the rind in his hand, a very muscular person, who didn't look like a new student at all, stood in front of Jiang Ming.

"Hey, give me a slice of melon too."

This guy seemed used to being arrogant and domineering; he spoke haughtily, as if ordering a subordinate.

Jiang Ming ignored him. He flicked his wrist again, threw the rind into the trash can, and then looked at the burly guy in front of him, his gaze calm.

"Today is new student enrollment, I don't want to fight. You have three seconds to get out of my sight."
