Chapter 13: I Admit It, I'm an LSP!
In a somewhat drafty room, Bai Yu idly fiddled with a blade of grass.
Hearing the commotion outside, his lips curved into a smile, and he thought to himself, “Finally!”
“Are you the one who wants to join Shrek? My name is Flender, and I am the dean here. Could you release your Spirit for me to see?”
“Hello, Dean, my name is Bai Yu.”
Looking at Flender, who had spoken, Bai Yu scrutinized him, muttering inwardly:
“His nickname is Four-Eyed Owl. The ‘four-eyed’ part is correct, but his face and Spirit don't resemble it at all. I can't say it's round; I can only say it's completely like a shoehorn.”
Then he composed himself and said, “That's right, it's me. However, whether or not I join your Academy depends on whether there's someone I'm looking for in the Academy.”
With that, Bai Yu summoned his Spirit, and four spirit rings—yellow, purple, purple, and black—pulsated around it.
Flender's face showed surprise, and a cunning glint appeared in his eyes, then he sighed:
“Our Academy currently only has four students besides the teachers. Two of them are indeed far behind you; they've only just passed level 30 at sixteen years old.”
“As for the other two, they are children I adopted. One is nine years old, and the other is only seven.”
“One has a food system Spirit with innate full spirit power, and the other has a Phoenix Spirit with innate level nine spirit power.”
“Once these two grow up, they will definitely become the freaks you're looking for.”
Bai Yu looked at Flender, who was putting on a theatrical performance, a flicker of disdain crossing his eyes.
Then he revealed an interested expression: “Oh, that's somewhat interesting. Alright, I can agree to join the Academy, but I have a condition.”
Upon hearing his reply, Flender's surprise was evident, and his shoehorn-like face almost stretched into a rugby ball with his smile.
“What condition? Tell me, anything I can fulfill is negotiable,” Flender guaranteed, patting his chest.
Bai Yu toyed with his fingers and softly said, “Since they are still young, and my training mission is not yet complete.”
“So I can't stay here all the time. At most, I'll come once a year to check on their progress and see if the Academy has taken in any new freaks.”
“How can that be? Impossible, absolutely not,” Flender exclaimed.
Then he calmed himself, took a deep breath, looked at him seriously, and said:
“If you want to join the Academy to study, this won't do. You need to grow together with your classmates.”
Bai Yu looked at Flender, who was starting to bluff, expressionless, muttering inwardly:
“I, Bai Yu! I'm a reincarnated Crossing! And you're trying to fool me with such simple words? Which Crossing can't resist this kind of deception?!”
Then his expression changed—no! A Bie San can't resist!
“Are you listening?” Flender asked, seeing him lost in thought.
Bai Yu nodded and said, “I'm listening. The Dean's words make sense, but unfortunately, my training is not yet complete.”
“And I still need to find opponents. If the Dean doesn't agree, I can only say I'm sorry.”
Flender's face became conflicted and ugly as he listened to the words, his eyes darting around a few times. He gritted his teeth and said:
“Alright, I agree. As long as you come back for enrollment each year, for the rest of the time, you can decide whether to stay or go.”
Hearing Flender agree, Bai Yu nodded: “Alright, it's a deal. Then Dean, I'll be leaving now. See you next year.”
“I say, Flender, he's not even staying at the Academy. Is there any point in you accepting him?” Zhao Wuji walked over and asked Flender.
Flender looked at Bai Yu's receding figure and retorted, “What do you mean there's no point? Even just having him show up can increase the Academy's reputation. What if a Little freak really does come to join?”
...
In a flash, five years passed by.
Bai Yu looked around. In about three hours, they would reach Soto City.
During these five years, other than coming to Soto City once a year to show up at Shrek Academy and make himself known,
Bai Yu had been wandering outside for the rest of the time, fishing in the sea, admiring snow in the far north, watching volcanic eruptions in the mountains, and playing in the sand in the desert.
He had joined mercenary groups to experience the fun of dungeons, hunted down fallen Spirit Masters, and had also been hunted himself.
He had experienced life-and-death situations in storms and had been trapped and cried like a ghost in ruins.
Recalling the past five years, a faint sense of melancholy appeared in Bai Yu's eyes.
“Second Miss, don't run anymore. You can't escape. Just come back with us obediently.”
“Hehe, that's right, Second Miss. Otherwise, if we subordinates accidentally kill Second Miss, it won't be good to explain to the Eldest Miss when we go back.”
“I heard that your fiancé, Second Miss, is in Soto City, not far to the north. Are you going to find him, Second Miss?”
Bai Yu heard dense footsteps and conversation coming from the forest beside him. He turned his head with a strange expression to look.
He saw a girl, about 1.6 meters tall, wearing a black combat suit, rushing out of the forest. Behind her were seven masked men in black.
The girl's face was smudged with dust, her long black hair was somewhat disheveled, and her clothes had many scratches.
Her eyes held some panic and bewilderment as she ran wildly towards his direction.
“Hmm?” As the girl ran, her large, bouncing ‘DuangDuang’ evil unconsciously drew Bai Yu's gaze.
The seven men in black saw Bai Yu suddenly appear and all quickened their pace, surrounding the girl and him.
“Second Miss, we told you that you can't escape. If you keep running east, you might end up back in Star Luo City.”
“And who are you, kid? What? You want to be a hero and save the beauty? Get lost!”
Bai Yu's eye twitched. This acting, my giegie who practiced for two and a half years is better than you all.
Chasing and acting as bodyguards, and even giving directions, it's really hard for you subordinates.
Then an interested expression appeared on his face, and he unleashed an aura close to that of a Spirit Saint, turning to look at the leading man in black:
“Oh? If you put it that way, I really do feel like being a hero and saving the beauty!”
Then he turned to look at the girl: “You just said your fiancé is in Soto City? Coincidentally, I'm also going there. Come with me.”
As his words fell, the men in black surrounding Bai Yu and the girl exchanged glances.
“Retreat,” the leading man in black said in a deep voice. Then the seven of them darted into the forest and disappeared.
“Thank you for saving my life. What's your name? If I have a future, I will repay you.”
The girl's voice was slightly tired, yet it carried a comfortable clarity.
Bai Yu waved his hand, glanced at the nearby forest, and turned to continue walking forward:
“My name is Bai Yu. Come with me. There's no need for repayment. You wouldn't have been in trouble anyway.”
The girl followed behind Bai Yu, her expression puzzled: “What do you mean I wouldn't have been in trouble?”
He tilted his head to glance at the girl behind him, his gaze lingering on her chest for a moment. He thought to himself, “Is this the legendary big-chested and brainless? I like it. I admit it, I'm an LSP!”
Then he turned his head and said, “One Spirit King, two Spirit Ancestors, plus four Spirit Elders.”
“Enough to kill you, a Spirit Grandmaster, eight times over within a single breath, with detours.”
As Bai Yu's words fell, the girl behind him showed expressions of astonishment, confusion, and disbelief.
It made sense. She had thought she was fighting for her life, but it turned out the enemies were going easy on her. No one could accept that.
If this were someone with a slight mental issue, they'd probably want to take revenge on the World. Am I right, Sasuke!
Looking at the girl who was deep in thought, Bai Yu scratched the corner of his mouth: “I haven't asked your name yet.”
Bai Yu, of course, knew her name; he just wanted to help her out of her predicament.
“My name is Zhu Zhuqing,” the girl replied unconsciously, her expression pausing.
