Chapter 50: Goodbye little angel

Chapter 50: Seeing Little Angel Again

Looking at Little Wildcat’s determined yet pleading gaze, Bai Yu smiled and softly said,

“I didn’t say I’d stop you. I just wanted to ask what insights you gained from this battle.”

Zhu Zhuqing breathed a sigh of relief, her beautiful large eyes brightened, and a smile appeared on her face as she stared directly at Bai Yu.

“I finally understand now why, when we first met, you said those people wanted to kill me, and I wouldn’t survive a single breath!”

“Only through true combat do I realize how ridiculous my escape was back then. My sister, she…”

Bai Yu pinched Zhu Zhuqing’s bitter-smiling cheek, then got up, took a towel, wet it in the stone basin, and began to wipe her again.

“Don’t think so much. When you become strong, everything in the world will be beautiful. Past hardships are merely a bit of wind and frost.”

Upon hearing Bai Yu’s words, the bitterness in Zhu Zhuqing’s heart gradually dissipated, and a sunrise-like smile bloomed on her face, as if she had been reborn.

Then, with a hint of confusion and some dissatisfaction, she asked Bai Yu:

“Since you don’t object to my cultivation, why did you arrange this trial?”

After cleaning the bloodstains from Zhu Zhuqing, Bai Yu took out healing medicine and bandages, and began to dress her wounds, saying as he applied the medicine:

“Tsk, Little Milk Cat, all your nutrition went to your chest, none left for your brain. When did I ever object to your cultivation? If I truly objected, I wouldn’t have given you so many good things.”

“This trial was only for refining your mind. A high-level Spirit Master does not equate to a strong person! A strong person is strong in their state of mind. Even if you were frightened today, I could still make you cultivate to Title Douluo. Your thinking was wrong from the start.”

Hearing Bai Yu indirectly call her big-chested and brainless, Zhu Zhuqing gritted her teeth and rolled her eyes, angrily turning her face away and muttering softly:

“If you don’t like it, don’t look or touch it! You always say others are stubborn, but your mouth doesn’t seem to agree with your hands and eyes either.”

Hearing Little Wildcat’s complaint, Bai Yu’s face showed some embarrassment. He quickly finished bandaging the wound, got up, released his fifth Spirit Ability, and said in a drifting tone:

“Ahem, the wounds are treated. You rest well. I’ll come treat you every hour. You should be mostly recovered by tomorrow. I’ll be going now.”

After speaking, Bai Yu quickly left. Once outside the door, he clapped his hands together and muttered to himself.

“Disobedient, useless! Now you’ve been caught, haven’t you? But the feel was nice. Too bad she’s too young; I’ll have to ‘raise’ her for two more years.”

“Speaking of which, I’m going to Heaven Dou City soon. I wonder how Little Angel has been these past few years. I’ll go see her then.”

He then went to other rooms and began to use his Spirit Ability to heal the others.

After healing everyone, just as Bai Yu was about to find a place to rest, Ning Rongrong walked over, her face pale.

“Thank you today. Otherwise, I might have died here.”

Bai Yu looked at the dispirited Ning Rongrong, reached out and ruffled her smooth long hair, comforting her:

“It’s nothing, don’t be afraid. I told you I’d ensure you wouldn’t die. I always keep my word. Remember this lesson in the future: you can’t be sure it’s safe until you see the corpse.”

Ning Rongrong was unexpectedly well-behaved. She didn’t get angry when Bai Yu touched her head. She just looked at Bai Yu and nodded seriously.

“I understand, but I still have to thank you. I need to go take care of Xiao Wu. Zhuqing is in your hands. I’ll be going now.”

Looking at Ning Rongrong’s retreating figure, Bai Yu nodded, muttering with a smile:

“It seems she’s realized that outside isn’t home; outside, people can die.”

By noon the next day, except for Dai Mubai’s injuries which still needed rest, the others, though not fully recovered, were able to move normally. So, everyone decided to head to Heaven Dou City first to find a healing Spirit Master for complete recovery.

Bai Yu carried Zhu Zhuqing, Liu Erlong carried Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong, and Tang San and the others were led by Flender and his group. The One line people flew towards Heaven Dou City.

In the evening, at Blue Tyrant Academy, after treatment by the academy teachers, the group was almost fully recovered.

Bai Yu chatted with Zhu Zhuqing for a while. After she returned to her room, he flashed towards the Crown Prince Residence.

All the way to the outside of the Crown Prince Residence, Bai Yu’s face held a smile. He concealed his aura, drifting in like a gentle breeze.

‘Xue Qinghe’ was not yet resting at this time, sitting on the edge of the bed in the sleeping quarters, diligently reviewing some documents.

After a while, she put down the scroll in her hand and stretched. Her peripheral vision caught something, and her pupils suddenly constricted. Her body instinctively made her palm ignite with golden flames, striking towards the bed behind her.

“Clap!”

The sound of two palms colliding echoed. Because Bai Yu intentionally controlled it, no damage was caused to the surroundings.

“Little Angel, is this how you welcome an old friend? Attacking right away? That’s a bit much!”

Qian Renxue finally saw who was lying on her bed. She exhaled, suppressing her wildly beating heart, and was so angry she couldn’t speak.

The Snake Lance and Porcupinefish Elders, who were guarding outside, felt Qian Renxue’s spirit power fluctuation and rushed in immediately.

Upon entering the room, they saw their young master standing by the bed, her chest heaving violently, her face alternating between green and red, while Bai Yu was half-lying on the bed, a wanton smile on his face.

This strange scene made both their faces look peculiar. What were they playing at? After exchanging glances, they said in unison:

“Greetings, Saint Child Hall. May we ask when Saint Child Hall arrived? Young master, did something happen just now?”

“Nothing, you two go out first.”

Qian Renxue didn’t wait for Bai Yu to speak, directly waving her hand to dismiss both of them.

“Yes, Young Master!”

Snake Lance and Porcupinefish exchanged another glance, then turned and quickly left the room. Both were ancestors; it didn’t matter what they were playing!

“And you, you get out too!”

Little Angel, in her Xue Qinghe disguise, spoke coldly to Bai Yu, her face like a glacier.

Seeing that Little Angel was truly angry, Bai Yu quickly reined in his smile and apologized with a bowed head.

“Don’t be so angry. It’s just that we haven’t seen each other for years, and I wanted to give you a surprise. I forgot your current situation. It’s my fault, I repent!”

Upon hearing Bai Yu’s apology, the ice on ‘Xue Qinghe’s’ face melted slightly. She cursed inwardly, ‘Is that a surprise? That was a fright!’

Seeing that Little Angel’s gaze was less icy, Bai Yu secretly breathed a sigh of relief, thinking he had finally bluffed his way through. He then said:

“We haven’t seen each other for years. An old friend has come, you can’t greet them with a fake body, right? Take off this disguise, it looks really awkward.”

Qian Renxue glanced at him indifferently, her gaze filled with disdain. ‘Are you really bothered by the fake body? Why do I not believe it?’

“I can’t change. It’s like this. If you don’t like it, get out. Also, get off my bed! But…”

Hearing Qian Renxue’s words, Bai Yu was initially disappointed, but then heard a turning point, and his eyes lit up again.

“But what? Do you need my help with something? Don’t worry, I can handle anything!”
