Chapter 20: My Lord? Gu Yuena!

“Arrogant.” The golden-armored Divinity’s lightning spear flickered with electricity. He flashed, and the lightning spear shot straight at Snow Empress.

Jiang Mian couldn’t help but sigh. At such a speed, even if he exerted all his strength, he could barely see it. He realized he still needed to work harder, otherwise, relying solely on Snow Empress and the others to protect him would not be a long-term solution.

Snow Empress slightly turned her body, easily dodging the lightning spear. She smiled disdainfully and said faintly, “Jiang Mian, watch carefully. This is the true… Emperor’s Palm, Great Cold No Snow!”

The surrounding temperature instantly dropped to zero. Jiang Mian felt as if even the air was about to be frozen. Snow Empress’s right hand became pristine white. Her seemingly slow but surprisingly fast palm strike landed directly on the golden-armored Divinity’s abdomen.

Boom!

The golden-armored Divinity instantly froze in place, not even uttering a last word. His expression was so full of confidence, but he would have to maintain that expression forever.

Such a master turned into an ice sculpture in an instant, yet his appearance showed no damage.

Snow Empress retracted the ice and snow, and only then did Jiang Mian and Kloss feel their breathing become smooth.

“He’s dead?” Kloss crawled towards the Divinity’s corpse in horror, stammering, “This… this was a main Divinity.”

“What’s so great about that?” Jiang Mian scoffed, “Such a piece of trash, does he even deserve to be called a Divinity?”

Snow Empress did not reply. She bent down, examining the Divinity’s corpse, then extended her slender fingers and directly pulled out the Divinity’s heart.

Since the golden-armored Divinity’s body was already an ice sculpture at this point, no blood spilled out. His heart was very strange; it was a round bead. The bead was transparent, with lightning flickering inside, which should have been the source of his divine force.

“Take it,” Snow Empress said, tossing the round bead to Jiang Mian, “It might be useful later.”

Jiang Mian nodded, putting the round bead away. As he and Snow Empress were about to leave, Kloss suddenly pounced at Jiang Mian’s feet, grabbing his ankle and humbly saying, “Sir, for the sake of our brotherhood, can you please rescue my master?”

“Get up.” Jiang Mian frowned slightly. He quickly helped Kloss up and said with a smile, “I will always be your brother. Why are you so humble?”

“Sir is joking.” Kloss rubbed his hands, not daring to look Jiang Mian directly. Jiang Mian was a bit speechless. He looked at Snow Empress and said, “Snow Empress, how about a Helping Hand?”

“Alright, waiting for Di Tian here,” Snow Empress nodded and said, “Little girl, lead the way.”

“Thank you, senior.” Kloss prostrated himself, but Jiang Mian pulled him up. He was a bit speechless, not understanding why Kloss acted this way.

Could it be that so-called friendship was really that laughable?

On the Divine Mountain, an ancient Divinity with white hair, wearing a crown, and occupying the highest position, slowly opened his eyes. He seemed emotionless and said coldly, “A mortal has slain a Divinity.”

“Are they those divine officials?” A woman beside him, dressed provocatively like an ancient Greek art statue, slowly spoke, “The divine officials don’t have much divine force, so it’s not surprising.”

“No, Eleven was killed.” The ancient Divinity’s words were astonishing. The many Divinities beneath him exchanged glances, wondering who could have killed a main Divinity.

“Was it the one who was imprisoned who acted?” The woman’s jade-white face showed a range of expressions. She said with some disbelief, “That shouldn’t be possible. Without divine force, how could he escape?”

“Nothing is impossible.” The ancient Divinity shook his head and instructed, “Go find that mortal who killed Eleven. I want him alive, or his corpse.”

“Yes.” The other ten Divinities accepted the order and left. The ancient Divinity in the highest position stood up. He took the goddess’s hand and said faintly, “It’s been a long time since a mortal dared to offend the dignity of a Divinity.”

“Should we unleash divine punishment?” The goddess was beautiful, but her heart was so vicious, “We haven’t been angry for too long, so mortals have forgotten that when a Divinity rages, millions of corpses fall.”

“No, actually, I can feel that the one who killed Eleven is not a mortal from this World.” The ancient Divinity said, “It’s hard to explain to them, but this feeling is something I haven’t felt in a long time. The last time was a hundred years ago, but although that person was powerful, he didn’t conflict with us. The person who came this time is too arrogant.”

“With you here, no matter how powerful visitors from other Worlds are, we are not afraid.” The goddess shrewdly leaned on the ancient Divinity’s chest. She stroked the Divinity with both hands, seemingly enjoying the feeling.

Kloss led Jiang Mian in a hurried pace. He seemed very anxious, as if afraid of the Divinities catching up, while Jiang Mian remained calm. What Divinities? They had no strength.

Whoosh!

A feathered arrow suddenly shot out from the sky. Jiang Mian didn't even turn his head. Snow Empress casually waved her hand and caught the arrow.

“A bit interesting.” A winged goddess appeared in the sky. She wore a flower crown and used only a piece of white silk to cover her vital parts, dressed extremely boldly.

Jiang Mian chuckled, unable to resist taking a few extra glances. Snow Empress saw Jiang Mian’s expression and seemed somewhat displeased.

“Hunting Goddess, the Ninth Main Divinity.” Kloss was in no mood to appreciate the goddess’s physique. He couldn’t help but quicken his pace and said, “It is said that the Hunting Goddess never misses her target and never fails to hit the prey she sets her sights on. Her strength is also much greater than the Divinity from before.”

“Is it?” Snow Empress dropped the feathered arrow and said, “Feels about the same.”

“The appearance of the Hunting Goddess means that the Divinities have already targeted us. She is just the vanguard.” Kloss had lost hope. He said, “My master is sealed nearby. Maybe he has a way.”

Jiang Mian stopped in his tracks. He felt that Kloss was completely different from his usual self. The young man who was fearless against the Crystal Emperor Lion was now panicking like a mouse seeing a cat when faced with this Divinity, which was truly laughable.

It seemed that the people of this World had been poisoned for too long, to the point where they considered submission to Divinities as a matter of course.

“Fighting back and forth, will it ever end?” Snow Empress said with some annoyance, “It would be better to gather them all and kill them together for a quicker end.”

“The Divine Eagle will judge you.” The Hunting Goddess raised her arm, gently tracing her body with her fingers. She suddenly used her foot to brace her bow and shot an arrow in an extremely seductive pose.

This arrow split rocks and pierced the sky, far more powerful than the previous one.

“A mere trick.” Snow Empress chuckled, also condensing an arrow from ice and snow. The two arrows collided, and the ice arrow directly pierced through the feathered arrow, continuing its momentum until it pierced through the Hunting Goddess before disappearing.

The Hunting Goddess’s face was filled with terror. Her body froze at a visible speed, and within moments, she became completely stiff, falling from the sky and shattering into pieces.

“That’s a bit of a waste of food.” Jiang Mian recalled the Hunting Goddess’s charming figure and face, and couldn’t help but sigh, “Such a peerless beauty is hard to find even with a lantern.”

“What did you say?” Snow Empress suddenly pinched Jiang Mian’s ear and smiled, “Jiang Mian, that’s not a nice thing to say. Don’t say it again.”

“Yes, yes.” Jiang Mian covered his ear, repeatedly agreeing. He couldn’t help but complain in his heart, who was the master? Why did he seem like Snow Empress’s concubine?

“This is where my master is sealed.”

The group traveled for nearly another day, finally reaching the edge of a bottomless sinkhole.

This sinkhole was vast, and looking down, it was a hazy expanse, with no bottom visible. Jiang Mian speculated that this should be a forbidden area set up by those Divinities, fearing someone would discover Kloss’s master. Yet, by a fluke, Kloss found it, and by another fluke, he brought Jiang Mian here.

“Let’s go.” Kloss was the first to leap down. He seemed unafraid of being smashed to pieces. Jiang Mian also had no scruples, after all, his big wife, Snow Empress, was by his side. If there was any danger, it would just be a lovers’ suicide.

Snow Empress held Jiang Mian, transforming into wind and snow as they sped downwards. Jiang Mian passed through the hazy forbidden layer and then suddenly found himself in the clear. Below the sinkhole, there was actually an underground city.

This city was well-connected, and glowing spirit stones were placed in every corner. These spirit stones were probably the energy source for the forbidden area above.

An old man dressed in tattered clothes, with disheveled hair, was bound by chains on all four limbs, only able to move within a small range.

Kloss landed first beside the old man. He first kowtowed three times before daring to stand up and say, “Teacher, I’ve brought helpers. They might be able to help you escape this endless purgatory.”

“Hmm.” The old man revealed a pair of profound eyes. In his eyes, Jiang Mian saw the long history and endless wisdom.

“Senior, I am Jiang Mian, and I apologize for the disturbance,” Jiang Mian said respectfully, cupping his fists.

“No matter.” The old man dragged his body. Every time he moved, the iron chains binding him rattled. “Friend from another World, I’ve finally waited for you.”

“You were waiting for me?” Jiang Mian’s heart skipped a beat. He couldn’t help but look at Snow Empress, noticing that Snow Empress’s expression was also very solemn, indicating that this old man was definitely deeply hidden, and perhaps even stronger than Snow Empress.

“I was too bored, that’s why I let those Divinities imprison me here,” the old man chuckled. He casually pulled, and the chains snapped. The forbidden area suddenly vanished like smoke. The methods of a group of children, did they really think they could control him?

“After living for too long, I always like to try new things.” The old man stroked Kloss’s head. Suddenly, he exerted force with his hand, and a strong wind swept in. Kloss was actually sucked into his body.

“Where did you take Kloss?” Jiang Mian demanded, “Did you kill him?”

“He was originally a part of my body. How can you say I killed him?” The old man sat cross-legged. He beckoned, signaling Jiang Mian and Snow Empress to sit as well. “The two of you little ones coming here is all fate, so I followed fate and created a Kloss to guide you here.”

Snow Empress didn’t speak, as if tacitly acknowledging the fact that she was a child in front of this old man. Snow Empress already had nearly seven hundred thousand years of cultivation, which only meant that this old man was even older.

“Kloss’s memories are also fake?” Jiang Mian sat down casually, resting his chin on his hand, and chuckled, “What fate, old man? Isn’t fate just your will?”

“You’re quite smart.” The old man laughed heartily. A pot of wine appeared out of thin air in front of Jiang Mian. “Please enjoy.”

Jiang Mian thanked him, picked up the wine pot, and drank heartily. The wine wasn’t spicy on the tongue, had a smooth aftertaste, and a slight sweetness.

“That’s truly enjoyable. Would this beautiful Little girl like some?” The old man snapped his fingers, and a pot of wine also appeared in front of Snow Empress.

Snow Empress smiled slightly, also not refusing the old man’s wine. However, Snow Empress was more elegant; she condensed a wine glass with her ice and snow spirit power and carefully savored the wine.

“The Little girl has seen grand occasions,” the old man praised, giving a thumbs-up without hesitation.

“Senior has drawn a prison for himself, so he must have many Boredom,” Jiang Mian chuckled, “It’s just that I wonder how senior became the ‘Old Man in the Sky’ of this World?”

“Boy, are you trying to curse me indirectly?” The old man pointed at Jiang Mian, laughing angrily, “You know my identity, why bother with such extra effort?”

“I just don’t understand why so many Divinities fell to form this Divine Tomb,” Jiang Mian asked curiously, “Logically, the age of Divinities should be infinite, right?”

“That’s a past event, best left unmentioned.” The old man conjured a pot of wine for himself, as if to drown his sorrows. He laughed, “Anyway, it’s quite enjoyable in this place. Whatever wind you want, whatever rain you want, but they’re all fake, which makes it a bit uninteresting.”

“Since everything outside is a manifestation of your thoughts, why don’t you change it into something more fun?” Jiang Mian asked.

“What’s fun?” The old man burst out laughing. He shook his head, mocking himself, “Young man, when you’ve stayed here for hundreds of thousands of years, you’ll know that nothing is new. Everything, all things, are cyclical.”

There’s a good saying: history is like a rolling wheel moving forward, but no matter how much the wheel rolls, it will still repeat, because the wheel is only so big. This also corresponds to another saying: there’s nothing new under the sun.

“Will those Divinities still pursue us?” Jiang Mian asked, “Their strength is very strong, which shows that senior’s strength is also unfathomable.”

“When you become a Divinity, and then die, you will become like me,” the old man chuckled, “Actually, logically, they can be infinitely strong, but I dare not let them surpass me, otherwise I wouldn’t be the Heavens.”

“Old man, how does the passage of time here compare to the outside World?” Jiang Mian asked the question he had been concerned about.

“About the same,” the old man scratched his messy hair, saying carelessly, “I’m not too sure.”

Jiang Mian was thoughtful. The old man suddenly pointed to the top of the sinkhole and asked with a smile, “That Little girl up there is also looking for you, right?”

Jiang Mian and Snow Empress exchanged glances and said, “That’s right, she’s looking for us.”

“No wonder,” the old man suddenly realized, “I wondered why I didn’t have control over him. Another visitor from another World. What’s going on these two days, so lively?”

“We’ve disturbed your secluded cultivation, senior,” Jiang Mian said, “Please forgive us.”

“No need for pleasantries,” the old man stroked his beard and shouted loudly, “Little girl up there, if you have time, why not come down for a drink?”

The voice vanished instantly. Di Tian suddenly appeared in front of the three of them. He said faintly, “Senior, I apologize for the intrusion.”

“Sit,” the old man pointed beside Jiang Mian and served Di Tian a pot of wine, “You Little girl, your strength is truly astonishing.”

“Senior overpraises me.” Di Tian raised the wine pot and drank it all in one gulp. When he finished this cup of wine, Jiang Mian suddenly found his spirit power advancing by leaps and bounds, directly breaking through three levels. Even Snow Empress and Di Tian had improved to varying degrees.

“Thank you, senior.”

The old man waved his hand. He suddenly stood up and looked at Jiang Mian with a smile, “You Little girl, you are intelligent and talented. You will definitely ascend to the immortal realm in the future. If I don’t do you a favor, wouldn’t I lose out greatly?”

“Alright, I’ll give you a little more good stuff, and then you can leave. This old man only needs a little liveliness for a while. If it’s lively for too long, the contrast of loneliness will be even stronger.”

Jiang Mian was about to thank him, but the old man raised his hand to interrupt him. The old man glowed all over. He gathered all the light on his right index finger, and a drop of golden-yellow blood, rich in Divinity, dripped from the old man’s finger. Di Tian, quick-eyed and quick-handed, quickly carefully collected that drop of blood.

“Let’s go.” The old man waved his hand, and the World changed. Jiang Mian held Snow Empress’s hand, and the three of them were directly expelled from the small space.

Wind and snow hit his face. Jiang Mian slowly opened his eyes, greeted by an endless expanse of snow. Di Tian and Snow Empress stood behind him.

Snow Empress’s expression was as usual, while Di Tian was overjoyed. He murmured:

“With this drop of divine blood, the Master can be revived.”
