Chapter 31: Falkenhayn
The young man left, leaving behind a plan called "Killing Field". Falkenhayn sat in his chair, smoking a cigarette, thinking about the first half of his life.
He was born into a Junker noble family, but he was not rich, and could even be said to be poor. His family estate was located in a simple manor near Toruń, where the land was very barren and the weather was very bad.
The only thing Falkenhayn could boast of was probably his identity as a Junker noble, an identity that could be traced back to the Teutonic Knights, a legion of mixed-race people. However, with the decline of the Teutonic Knights, their family's bloodline gradually faded, and the first few generations completely left the circle of mixed-race people and became ordinary people.
The portraits of his ancestors were covered with dust in the dilapidated hall, always gazing at him with sharp eyes, making him feel an inexplicable oppression and endless expectations.
In order to revive the glory of his family, he decided to join the army like his ancestors, but his performance in the military academy was not very ideal. After graduation, he wasted a long time and became a small captain in the staff department at the age of 32. During that time, he often walked alone on the deserted streets on cold nights, with the sound of the wind and the barking of dogs in the distance in his ears.
Later, he was sent to the Far East as a military advisor, and everything seemed to change. In the Far East, he was transferred to serve as the chief instructor of the Hubei Military Academy of the Qing Army.
However, he quit after less than two years, as the students were either too young or too old to even walk with a shaky hand. He wandered around the classroom, looking at those ignorant teenagers and staggering old men, feeling powerless and disappointed.
His chance finally came. He was promoted to colonel not long ago, and he showed great work efficiency and strong hands to suppress these refugees with sticks. The suppression went very smoothly at the beginning, but he did not expect that there were so many mixed-bloods among those refugees who did not even have guns. It was said that they were all disguised as guards.
Because of the joining of mixed-race people, an organization called the Presbyterian Church emerged.
This organization is very mysterious, and all of them are mixed-bloods. There are not many of them, and at first they can only barely hold on against the guards.
But one night, all the guards disappeared. No one knew what happened, but based on the knowledge passed down by his ancestors, Falkenhayn had a vague guess.
Nibelungen
A huge Nibelung captured all these guards. It must have been a dragon king who took action, and there might be more than one, otherwise it would be impossible to destroy an army composed of mixed-bloods silently, even if most of them did not have high bloodlines.
As far as Falkenhayn knew, the only one who could release such a large range of Nibelungen was the legendary Odin. But he also heard that in a port not far away, their Prussian native mixed-race force, the Secret Party, encountered the King of Sky and Wind, and the current Secret Party leader and a group of high-ranking officials were all killed.
He didn't know which dragon king had taken action, or if both of them were involved in this matter. He didn't think about it any more, after all, he was just a small colonel. He began to command the troops to restore order in the city, and also demolished several gaps in the wall of this magnificent city to make traffic smoother. Soon, the city returned to peace.
It was not known whether it was because of his good work or his status that the organization called the Presbyterian Church took a fancy to him and chose him as their spokesperson in Prussia.
Originally, due to the existence of the Secret Party, they had no way to extend their tentacles into Prussia, but now that the Secret Party was severely damaged and leaderless, they could just extend their tentacles in. Falkenhayn didn't believe that things would be so coincidental, but he still agreed. He was eager for power and to revive the family.
Falkenhayn returned home not long after, where his position began to rise rapidly and he even won the appreciation of the Emperor.
It was not until the defeat of the Battle of the Marne and the fall of the former Army Chief of Staff Moltke the Younger that Falkenhayn finally reached the peak of his military career. At the age of 53, he successfully served as the Army Chief of Staff. Behind his soaring position, the Presbyterian Church was indispensable, and his political opponents often accidentally ran into accidents.
Falkenhayn was a little afraid that these accidents would happen to him too. He had just reached the pinnacle of his power and had not had time to show his abilities. The power of the Presbyterian Church spread throughout Europe, and its abilities were mysterious. Its members came from all countries, but those who held the core power were Jews who had no concept of a nation and claimed to be descendants of God.
Even though he is now second only to the emperor in Prussia, he is unable to compete with the Presbyterian Church.
He sat in the chair and pondered for a long time, his cigarette never falling off his tongue until a small mound formed in the ashtray on the table. The smoke lingered in the dim room, as if countless ghosts were wandering around him.
Finally, he made up his mind, picked up the plan and walked towards the palace. But his back was so hunched, like a dog. The killing field plan was officially launched, and the sorrow of the two countries began.
………………
Lu Mingfei and his men spent a period of time in the camp without artillery fire, cold, or hunger. During this period, a group of new soldiers came from the rear, and one hundred new soldiers were assigned to their company and formed a new second company with them.
Those who survived like Lu Mingfei were promoted to different degrees. Lu Mingfei's current rank was corporal, and although he was still a private with little power, at least he didn't have to wash socks and underwear for others in his spare time.
During this time in the camp, a small incident occurred. Himmelstoss came to reconcile with them. Since he survived the battlefield, his arrogant and conceited look was defeated.
The chief cook had gone back home on vacation some time ago, and Himmelstoss had taken over his position. In order to seek reconciliation with them, Himmelstoss had given Lu Mingfei and his men food and material quotas at the officer level.
Lu Mingfei and his friends spent a period of time like a fairy. In fact, for Lu Mingfei, the moment he knew that it was Himmelstoss who carried Kemmerich to the hospital, the grudge between them was written off.
Good days are always short-lived. This time, Lu Mingfei and his men received an order to go to the front line. This time it was no longer the Champagne region, but Verdun.
The atmosphere in the camp suddenly became tense. The soldiers were busy sorting their equipment, their faces filled with anxiety and determination.
Lu Mingfei and his group got on the truck, and the car was filled with the smell of diesel and rust.
Xier sat next to him and asked, "Mr. Corporal, where are we going?" He has been calling Lu Mingfei that since Lu Mingfei was promoted to corporal.
"The place we are going to... is hell." Lu Mingfei took a deep puff of cigarette and looked into the distance with deep eyes.
Fuck, the review deleted nearly 300 words of mine
