Chapter 39: Enchanted Equipment

“Oh my goodness…”

The young knight who had previously complained about the smell now had his eyes wide open, drool almost dripping.

“These bandits… they really can hoard!”

“More than just hoarding, it’s practically plundering.”

Aide picked up a ruby the size of a baby’s fist, weighed it, and then put it back.

“This is probably what they’ve accumulated from decades of plundering merchant caravans, extorting, and even excavating certain ruins.”

“Take all the gold coins, silver coins, gems, and these enchanted items. For the ores and materials, pick the high-value ones. As for other supplies, seal them up, and we’ll come back for them after we eliminate the Blood Wolf Band.”

The Knights immediately sprang into action, taking out their sturdy satchels and excitedly beginning to pack the spoils.

Gold coins clattered into the satchels, and gems were carefully wrapped.

The atmosphere instantly became lively, the tension and exhaustion from the battle swept away, replaced by the joy of a bountiful harvest.

A Knight in the corner found a crown covered in low-quality gems and an extremely gaudy design. He couldn’t help but put it on his helmet, drawing a burst of laughter from his companions.

“Hey, Charlie, wearing that, you look exactly like a newly robbed nouveau riche king!”

“Better than being empty-handed!”

Charlie proudly shook his head, the gems on the crown jingling.

Even the usually serious Aide’s lips curved into an almost imperceptible smile.

The gains from this operation far exceeded expectations.

These riches were undoubtedly a timely aid for Blackstone Territory, which was just starting and in dire need of reconstruction.

The loading process lasted for nearly an hour.

The Knights tried to pack and take away as many high-value, portable items as possible. Several large boxes were emptied, and gold, silver, and jewels filled several large satchels, with the weight distributed among several strong Pegasus.

The enchanted weapons and armor were also securely tied and hung on the sides of the saddles.

“My Lord, everything is handled.”

Aide came to report.

Lei Luo took one last look at the ransacked treasury and the messy cave outside.

“Very good. Give the order, prepare to withdraw. Seal the cave entrance completely, leave no traces.”

The next day, the midday sun was somewhat dazzling.

Lei Luo led the Pegasus Knights, descending from the sky and landing steadily on the open ground in the center of the town.

Lei Luo did not linger in the town center, heading straight back to the Lord’s Mansion with Aide.

The Knights carried all the spoils into the Lord’s Hall.

Inside a spacious room in the mansion, the floor was covered with rough animal hide rugs.

Several heavy satchels were opened, and the gleam of gold coins and gems once again dazzled the eyes, but Lei Luo and Aide’s gazes were focused on several other carefully wrapped items.

Aide personally unwrapped the thick linen bundles.

First to be revealed were three sets of armor.

The first set was a full body plate armor, slightly old-fashioned in style, but extremely well-maintained, shimmering with a deep metallic luster.

At the core of the breastplate, a blurred shield-shaped rune was engraved.

Aide reached out and touched it, feeling a stable and weighty energy fluctuation at his fingertips.

“Guardian Plate Armor!”

Aide gave his judgment after a moment of inspection.

“Standard Knight enchantment, it significantly boosts physical defense, especially effective against blunt force and slashing attacks. Wearing it, ordinary swords and blades will hardly cause harm.”

The second set was also plate armor, but rougher than the first, with particularly thick shoulder and arm guards, and large rivets connecting the joints. Some runes symbolizing strength were faintly visible on its surface.

“This set… is interesting.”

Aide frowned, examining it closely, even tapping it with his knuckles.

“Giant Strength Plate Armor. The enchantment effect amplifies the wearer’s strength, at the cost of being heavier and requiring extremely high physical endurance.”

He looked at Lei Luo.

“Most Knights would probably find it difficult to wield.”

Lei Luo nodded, his gaze turning to the last item.

It was a set of dark brown leather armor, the material seeming to be some kind of tough magical beast hide. Its surface was smooth, its lines fluid, and it was much lighter than plate armor.

Along the inner lining of the leather armor, Aide found a circle of fine, feather-like runes.

“Agile Leather Armor!”

A hint of approval flashed in Aide’s eyes.

“Increases agility and reduces footsteps. Suitable for scouts or units requiring high-speed combat.”

Lei Luo picked up the Agile Leather Armor, feeling the suppleness of the leather and the faint magical energy flowing on it.

Next were the weapons.

Aide picked up a long spear.

The spear shaft was made of some kind of hard magical wood, and the spearhead was made of gleaming refined steel, simple and deadly in design.

At the junction of the spearhead and shaft, there was a spiral-shaped enchantment pattern.

“Armor-Piercing Spear.”

Aide ran his fingers over the spear blade, a sharp aura almost piercing through his fingertips.

“The enchantment effect enhances penetration, with an additional damaging effect against heavily armored units.”

Lei Luo took the long spear and casually twirled it, a slight tearing sound in the air.

A good spear!

Finally, there were two Knight’s swords.

They were laid side by side on a wooden table.

The first sword had a slender blade, its silvery edge reflecting a flowing luster under the light. The guard was a simple cross shape, and the hilt was wrapped in non-slip leather.

Aide drew the sword from its sheath, and the blade rubbed against the air, emitting a pleasant hum.

“Sharpness Sword, the enchantment effect is to maintain sharpness and durability, making it resistant to dulling and breaking.”

He commented.

“A very reliable weapon.”

The second sword, however, looked slightly different.

Its blade was a bit wider and darker in color. Near the guard, some light blue, frost-like patterns could be seen.

Aide gripped the hilt, and a faint chill spread up his arm.

“Frostblade.”

He exhaled a puff of white mist.

“Attacks carry a chilling effect, which can slow down enemy movements and even cause frostbite at the wound.”

Lei Luo picked up the Frostblade, the cold touch from the hilt invigorating him.

He could clearly feel the icy power contained within the blade.

After counting these enchanted items, the atmosphere in the room became even more enthusiastic.

“Three sets of enchanted armor, three enchanted weapons.”

Aide reorganized the weapons and armor.

“Although not many in number, their quality is quite good. Especially the Giant Strength Plate Armor and the Frostblade, both are rare types of enchantments.”

Lei Luo looked at these spoils, a surge of excitement in his heart.

These items were a godsend for the newly established Blackstone Territory.

Although his Knights were brave, their equipment was generally crude, often requiring them to pay a greater price when facing powerful enemies.

With these enchanted items, he could arm a small, elite force.

“Aide.”

Lei Luo looked at his most trusted personal guard captain, “The Guardian Plate Armor and the Armor-Piercing Spear are for your use. In this battle with the Blood Wolf Band, you must slay the leader of these bandits.”

Aide did not decline.

As the commander of the Knight squad, he needed the best equipment to deal with various emergencies.

“Thank you, My Lord.”
