Chapter 1: A popular time travel?

Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?

Accompanied by these three soul-searching questions, Ye Ming slowly opened his eyes in the pitch-black cave.

Immediately, a sharp pain shot through his lower left abdomen. Ye Ming couldn't help but gasp, and his muddled brain finally cleared a little.

“Shouldn't I be going to see Great-Grandma? Why does my lower abdomen hurt so much? I haven't done anything bad!”

Besides the intense pain in his lower abdomen, as his consciousness gradually recovered, he only felt his body was pressed down by something heavy, devoid of any strength. The surrounding world was pitch black, with the only light coming from a powerful flashlight lying on the ground nearby. At the same time, a thick, nauseating smell of blood permeated the air.

“I clearly remember, I was smoking by the roadside and saw a child about to be hit by a dump truck. I instinctively rushed out to pull him, but because I hadn’t exercised much, I tripped. Not only did I fail to pull the child, but I accidentally pushed him down, and then we both met our end… Perhaps without me, he wouldn’t have been crushed into a meat patty? I guess I did a good deed with bad results… Is this blood smell my own? What kind of development is this?”

Ye Ming gave a helpless smile, which tugged at his abdominal wound, making him gasp again. It was then that he realized his body seemed to be intact, not crushed, and with such pain, he should still be alive. Moreover, he had never seen the surrounding environment before.

“So, I must have transmigrated. Last time, because I didn't exercise well, I fell and died after just a few steps. This time, if I get the chance, I must exercise properly! And become a Super True Human.”

“Ding! Your strong belief has been detected! Congratulations, you've received a transmigration gift package and awakened your Aura!”

As the voice faded, a warm current instantly spread throughout Ye Ming's body, restoring a trace of strength to his previously immobile limbs.

Ye Ming was stunned and couldn't help but shout in his mind: “System? System Daddy? Is that you, System Daddy?”

After silently calling for about ten minutes, all that answered was the silence of the cave. It seemed there was no System, or he hadn't found the correct way to activate it.

“Never mind that, I should first check my own condition. As for whether there's a System, I can only study it slowly later.”

Ye Ming struggled to turn his neck, “Why does my neck feel itchy?” He looked around and, by the light of the powerful flashlight on the ground, finally saw his surroundings.

It was a dark cave, with gravel scattered everywhere, along with various colorful fragments and viscous substances. What was pressing on him, or rather, lying on him, firmly protecting him and preventing him from being crushed by the gravel, was a giant beast over 2 meters tall, covered in a hard, deep purple carapace, with skin full of fine scale-like patterns, and an overall purple hue.

The giant beast had a pair of sharp, backward-curving horns on its head, thick at the base and pointed like spears. Its earlobes were serrated, with grayish-white edges. Its lower jaw protruded, revealing two sharp tusks. A row of serrated bone spines grew along its spine, extending from its neck to its tail. Its thick forearms were covered in bone armor, ending in three hooked claws. These forearms were firmly supporting its body, still trying its best to protect Ye Ming beneath it, even though it was heavily injured and unconscious.

This was “Ye Ming's” main Pokémon, Nidoking.

Perhaps it was because he had rested for a while, or because Ye Ming had awakened his Aura and improved his physique, he finally had the strength to slowly crawl out from under Nidoking. However, with every movement, the intense pain in his abdomen caused cold sweat to continuously break out on his forehead… He didn't know how long it took, ten minutes? An hour? In the pitch-black cave, by the time Ye Ming finally crawled to a relatively safe spot, his entire body was drenched in cold sweat.

Perhaps inheriting this body, Ye Ming instinctively took out a Potion from his person and sprayed it on the bowl-sized wound on his lower left abdomen. At the same time, he took out a Poké Ball and recalled the heavily injured and unconscious Nidoking, which was trapped under the rubble. Ye Ming's natural actions made him unaware of anything amiss.

As the Potion took effect, the pain in his wound slowly subsided, and he could finally think about his current situation.

Needless to say, seeing Nidoking and the Poké Ball, he knew he had transmigrated to the world of Pokémon. But what was strange was that he had been here for some time, and special abilities had even awakened, so why did he have no memory of the original owner of this body? No memory, yet he knew how to use Poké Balls and Potions. Perhaps it was muscle memory?

In his previous life, he was a programmer at Goose Factory. Although his physical fitness was poor, his logical ability was very strong. After not much thought, Ye Ming clearly knew what he needed to do now: leave this place and find somewhere to hide and rest for a while. Although he didn't remember what had happened here before, just based on the thick smell of blood in the air, it wouldn't be long before other Pokémon would be attracted, which would undoubtedly be very dangerous for Ye Ming, who was defenseless.

Therefore, Ye Ming picked up the powerful flashlight, looked around, grabbed a nearby backpack, put away Nidoking's Poké Ball, and, following his instincts, chose a random path and decisively left the scene.

Not long after walking, Ye Ming discovered that, as expected of the “Observation Haki” of the Pokémon world, with his newly awakened Aura, he could navigate the pitch-black cave even without the powerful flashlight. So, he turned off the flashlight and proceeded in the dark, avoiding strong light that might attract creatures he didn't want to encounter.

After traveling for some time, a cave appeared in his perception. There were no signs of life inside the cave, so Ye Ming decisively hid himself within. He could feel the sound of wings flapping behind him, heading in the direction he had come from. Perhaps it was a Zubat going to check the situation, fortunately, he had left quickly…

Upon entering the cave, Ye Ming released the unconscious Nidoking from its Poké Ball, then began to treat Nidoking's wounds with Potion. It was then that he realized that over half of Nidoking's scales were shattered, and its entire body was covered in dense wounds. It was fortunate that Pokémon had tenacious vitality, otherwise, Nidoking would probably have gone to see Great-Grandma long ago…

It took about half an hour, exhausting all the Potions on him, before Nidoking's breathing finally stabilized. Only then did Ye Ming have time to open the backpack he had instinctively taken with him. He always felt it was his own, which was why he had inexplicably picked it up and carried it away when leaving.

Opening the backpack, he found, as expected, a spatial backpack, one of the black technologies of the Pokémon world. After finding an Energy Cube and feeding it to Nidoking, he carefully organized the supplies within the backpack: a tent, a sleeping bag, food, water, Energy Cubes, and other daily necessities, as well as the most important item—a Poké Ball! And it was a Poké Ball that had already captured a Pokémon!

He took out the Poké Ball and, using the light from the powerful flashlight, looked through the transparent side of the Poké Ball. A dazzling flash of silver almost blinded Ye Ming's titanium alloy dog eyes!

This Pokémon was entirely white and gray, with a cool tone like moonlight cast on silver armor. A dazzling golden claw on its tail was incredibly bright. In the center of its head was a large, crimson eye, with a rhomboid pupil, like a pulsating ruby, revealing a strange fusion of machine and living organism. This was actually a Beldum! And a Shinny Beldum!

If he weren't in a dangerous, pitch-black cave, Ye Ming would have shouted, “Is there anyone else?!”

Excitement aside, Ye Ming quickly calmed down. As a programmer, his habit was always to approach things logically and systematically. He first set a short-term plan for himself: the most urgent task was to find a way to leave this unknown cave, and secondly, to gather information. Due to his inexplicable transmigration, he was only given an Aura before the “newbie Welfare” abruptly ended. Ye Ming had no memory of this body, didn't know where he was, why he came here, where the Beldum came from, what the world background was, or even his own identity. Therefore, the first thing to do after getting out was to gather information. Thinking of this, the joy of his heaven-sent beginning immediately vanished, replaced by a deep sense of helplessness.

To leave this cave, relying on his own weak body was definitely not an option. If he encountered any malicious wild Pokémon, he would surely perish immediately. Even if he avoided these Pokémon with his Aura, he didn't know if he could find his way out. Therefore, he probably had to wait until Nidoking recovered consciousness and had some fighting ability, then use Rock Smash or Dig to leave. Thinking of this, Ye Ming recalled Nidoking into its Poké Ball, took out water and compressed biscuits from his backpack, and made do with a quick meal. Although sleeping here might be dangerous, even if he stayed awake, he would have no means of resistance if danger arose. Therefore, Ye Ming unhesitatingly took out his sleeping bag, crawled in, and quickly fell asleep.

As soon as he lay down, a huge pain suddenly struck Ye Ming's brain. A massive stream of information rushed into his sea of consciousness, and the entire world spun. Ye Ming, as expected, passed out.
