Chapter 19: Fighting Diamond Girls

At this moment, in the empty basement, Zuo Feng stood frozen, his entire body covered in goosebumps.

The Diamond Girl before him stood gracefully in the air, her pristine little feet hovering five centimeters above the ground. Zuo Feng was certain there was nothing beneath her feet, no invisible support whatsoever. She was simply standing, three centimeters off the ground—standing, not floating!

Zuo Feng’s heart clenched. The sight before him completely overturned his understanding of the physical world. He saw the Diamond Girl open her crimson little mouth, revealing two rows of perfectly aligned, pearly white teeth—truly a beautiful set of teeth.

But that wasn't the main point. The main point was that the Diamond Girl had two small fangs on both her upper and lower rows of teeth.

These fangs weren't as grotesque as a zombie's; they were only about one centimeter longer than her other teeth. Yet, these four small fangs were made of sparkling diamond!

Zuo Feng held his breath, his gaze fixed on those four diamond fangs that gleamed with a cold, sharp light. An inexplicable fear seized him.

Immediately after, Zuo Feng saw the Diamond Girl take a small step with her right foot, as if an invisible door stood before her. She stepped into it, and her figure vanished instantly, completely gone!

Zuo Feng’s scalp tingled—this was a supernatural event! What kind of creature was the Diamond Girl?

She disappeared just like that, as if she had never existed. What astonished Zuo Feng even more was that in less than a second, a slender, pale hand suddenly reached out from the void, shooting straight for Zuo Feng’s face, less than ten centimeters away.

Zuo Feng was certain this was the Diamond Girl’s hand—it didn't have the long nails of a zombie; the nails were neatly trimmed and rounded, but the nails themselves were diamond, reflecting a dazzling light. And to think, the Diamond Girl had initially been ten meters away from him!

Spanning ten meters in an instant, a chill ran straight through Zuo Feng’s heart.

Zuo Feng instinctively took a step back, his heart pounding like a drum. The scene before him completely defied logic.

“Run!”

Zuo Feng cried out in his mind, turning and bolting. Out of the corner of his eye, he glimpsed the Diamond Girl’s body materializing from the void, the brilliant light stinging his eyes.

“What in the world is this thing? It’s like a ghost!”

Zuo Feng had only one thought now: run! He didn't even dare to look back. If Zuo Feng were to look back now, he would be horrified to find the Diamond Girl had taken another step, entering the void again.

“Slap!” It was the sound of a face meeting a palm. As Zuo Feng was running frantically, a small, pale hand suddenly appeared from the void in front of him, less than two centimeters from his face. The distance was too close; Zuo Feng had no time to stop, and his face crashed into it. A crisp slapping sound echoed through the basement.

Zuo Feng’s vision went black, and his cheek burned with pain. Tears streamed from his eyes; he felt as if his nose had been broken.

Although the small, pale palm was soft, Zuo Feng couldn't push through it. His head was blocked, but his feet were still moving forward. Zuo Feng instantly lost his footing and fell backward onto the ground.

As the world spun, he rolled once, and warmth spread from the palm covering his nose—it was blood.

He struggled to get up, seeing stars. The Diamond Girl’s body gradually solidified, her radiance growing even brighter. Her sparkling diamond eyes stared directly at him, her cold gaze seeming to pierce his soul.

“What kind of speed is this? It’s beyond human limits!”

Zuo Feng was utterly terrified. Every one of the Diamond Girl’s movements was like teleportation, completely disregarding spatial distance.

He knew he couldn't escape. His mind raced, searching for a countermeasure. Zuo Feng endured the intense pain, trying to analyze calmly; this creature before him was clearly extraordinary.

Zuo Feng gripped the sharpening rod in his hand tightly. He took a deep breath, holding the rod close to his chest, his gaze sharp, locked onto the Diamond Girl.

Since he could only fight for his life now, Zuo Feng didn't believe the Diamond Girl was benevolent. Her appearance brought endless strangeness and danger.

Less than a second after entering a state of alert, the Diamond Girl vanished again. A cold glint appeared in Zuo Feng’s eyes, his muscles tensed, and his heart pounded.

“Damn it, you’re messing with my face, aren’t you!”

Zuo Feng’s angry roar exploded. The sharpening rod in his hand shot out like a venomous snake, fiercely stabbing at the pale hand that appeared out of thin air—the Diamond Girl had ambushed him with her hand after both previous disappearances. He was betting on this attack trajectory!

He was right. The sharpening rod accurately hit its target, but there was no sensation of piercing flesh, only a sticky resistance like plunging into thick rubber.

Although the tip of the rod pressed against the Diamond Girl’s palm, it could not advance any further. Either her palm had unimaginable toughness, or the sharpening rod wasn't sharp enough, as it couldn't even break the skin.

“I'll be damned if I don't believe it!”

Suddenly twisting his body and exerting force, the rod's direction sharply changed. He stepped forward, closing the distance, and the sharpening rod thrust directly at her sparkling diamond eye!

The moment the rod tip touched her eyeball, a clear, crisp “ding” sound suddenly erupted, like ice crystals clashing. There was no grating metal scrape, nor the sound of shattering glass.

The sharpening rod merely brushed the diamond eyeball with its tip, producing a pleasant, wind-chime-like sound, then slid off the diamond eyeball. Due to the inertia of his force, the hand gripping the sharpening rod punched the Diamond Girl’s eye socket. The eye socket, however, was as hard as steel. A sharp pain shot through Zuo Feng’s fist; his finger bones felt as if they would shatter.

Immediately after, a snow-white, delicate fist rapidly enlarged before his eyes!

His right eye was instantly swallowed by darkness. His eyeball felt as if it would be squeezed out of its socket by the immense force, and a tearing, agonizing pain surged over him like a tidal wave.

The force contained within that delicate little fist was actually on par with his full-power strike—before the apocalypse, Zuo Feng could lift a hundred-jin sack of rice with one hand. After the apocalypse, his strength was even greater than before; now, his arm strength was definitely no less than one hundred and fifty jin!

He couldn't imagine how the Diamond Girl’s petite body could unleash such terrifying power.

Zuo Feng gritted his teeth, not retreating but advancing, enduring the blow head-on.

He shot out his left hand like lightning, clamping onto the Diamond Girl’s neck.

The touch was unusually smooth. Zuo Feng tightened his grip with his five fingers, simultaneously twisting his body and exerting force, trying to execute an over-the-shoulder throw by grabbing her neck.

Fortunately, the Diamond Girl’s body was light, weighing only about eighty jin, and Zuo Feng successfully swung her in a semicircle.

However, her neck was as slippery as grease, making it difficult to maintain a grip! As the Diamond Girl was swung to his chest, her neck suddenly slipped from between Zuo Feng’s fingers. Zuo Feng’s eyes widened, though his swollen right eye was reduced to a mere slit.

“This is cheating!”

Zuo Feng watched helplessly as the Diamond Girl seemed to be thrown into an invisible door. Before she could even hit the ground, she vanished without a trace.

How was he supposed to fight like this? She kept disappearing. So far, Zuo Feng hadn't inflicted any substantial damage on the Diamond Girl.

Zuo Feng gasped for breath, cautiously retreating two steps. His muscles were taut. He anticipated that the pale little hand would ghost-like strike his face in the next moment—the Diamond Girl always did this when she disappeared and reappeared.

Zuo Feng’s brain worked furiously. Since he couldn't fight her directly, he would restrict the Diamond Girl’s movements. This time, he planned to grab her wrist and execute a reverse armlock, first limiting her movement, then figuring out a solution.

Only this time, Zuo Feng misjudged—“She’s flying!”

Zuo Feng’s mind went blank. His body tumbled in mid-air as if weightless, the world spinning.

The Diamond Girl’s small hand did not appear in front of Zuo Feng’s face; instead, it materialized out of thin air and clamped tightly around Zuo Feng’s throat.

The Diamond Girl, upon her reappearance, was actually facing away from him, executing a perfect choke-hold over-the-shoulder throw! Zuo Feng felt the world invert as his back slammed into the ground, as if struck by a giant hammer. His chest tightened, and his breathing abruptly stopped.

His neck was nowhere near as smooth as the Diamond Girl’s. Even after hitting the ground, that slender, pale hand remained clamped like an iron vice around his throat, its terrifying strength making it impossible for him to struggle free.

“Die!”

Pinned to the ground, Zuo Feng’s right hand, holding the sharpening rod, instantly thrust towards the Diamond Girl’s slightly parted cherry lips—this was his only counterattack in a desperate situation! He didn't believe it wouldn't pierce if it went into her mouth!

But he didn't get his wish. The Diamond Girl happened to tilt her head, and the sharpening rod missed her, scraping past her lips and stopping horizontally in front of her mouth.

“Crunch!” The color drained from Zuo Feng’s face. He saw the Diamond Girl open her crimson little mouth, and her four diamond fangs bit into the steel rod as if it were soft candy, the tips sinking in instantly! She gave a sharp flick of her head, and the sharpening rod snapped in two!
