Chapter 32: Blood Moon Arrives

Outside, the night sky, which had been as black as ink, was now a blood-red, with a full moon, red as blood, hanging in the sky; its blood-red moonlight shone down, illuminating the densely packed skyscrapers, the earth, and even the entire sky.

The whole world was tinged with a bloody hue, and the air was filled with a suppressive and eerie atmosphere.

The shocked crowd stood on the balcony looking out, the city, illuminated by the blood moon, was like a blood-red purgatory, terrifying and bizarre.

"What's going on?"

Zuo Feng frowned, a sense of unease rising in his heart, and he glanced at the women; the blood-red moonlight shone on their fair faces, making them appear particularly demonic.

"Look, the zombies wandering the streets seem off!"

The zombies' movements had become unusually agile, their eyes glowing with a faint red light.

Yue Jiayu's voice, filled with terror, drew everyone's gaze to the street; the zombies, who had been tottering and wandering, now stood motionless as if their power had been cut off.

Their ashen faces, illuminated by the blood-red moonlight, seemed to be smeared with a layer of fresh blood, and wisps of blood-red moonlight intermittently flowed into their nostrils.

"Oh my god! Look at Kong Ling!"

Yue Jiayu's voice again drew everyone's attention; no one had noticed that Kong Ling, who had been quietly sitting on the sofa, had silently appeared on the balcony at some point.

Like the zombies downstairs, Kong Ling stood on the balcony, wisps of moonlight flowing into her nostrils.

"Retreat!"

This discovery made Zuo Feng's whole body tremble—Kong Ling was a zombie!

Zuo Feng and the women quickly retreated to the living room; at this moment, everyone realized that Kong Ling was a zombie, a unique zombie, but even if she was different, she was still a zombie!

Zuo Feng's expression was grave, his Space Shield already floating in front of him, his gaze fixed on Kong Ling, carefully sensing the connection between them; the atmosphere was extremely tense.

"Can you still control Kong Ling now?"

Yue Jiaxue gripped her compound bow, the arrow tip aimed at Kong Ling, her eyes flashing with golden light; if anything seemed amiss, she would immediately shoot the arrow.

"The connection is still there, she hasn't broken free of control; as for whether Kong Ling still obeys commands now, Da Bai Tu, see if you can get her to move."

Zuo Feng frowned slightly, not directly issuing a command to Kong Ling, but instead letting Da Bai Tu try, to see if Kong Ling, after absorbing the blood-red moonlight, would still listen to Da Bai Tu as before.

Zuo Feng stepped forward, shielding Da Bai Tu behind him, intently watching Kong Ling's reaction.

"Kong Ling, come here."

Da Bai Tu called softly, pointing her finger at the ground in front of Zuo Feng, her voice tinged with nervousness; Kong Ling was a great help, and she hoped nothing would go wrong.

Upon hearing Da Bai Tu's call, Kong Ling immediately turned around, not disappearing into space, but instead, following Da Bai Tu's command, walked step by step, three centimeters above the ground, treading on air.

Yue Jiaxue's arrow was already imbued with golden light, pointing directly at Kong Ling's head; fortunately, Kong Ling stopped when she reached the spot Da Bai Tu designated, standing obediently motionless.

"It's fine, she's still obedient."

Zuo Feng's heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally settled; Da Bai Tu could still command her, so she was still the same Kong Ling.

Seeing that Kong Ling could still obey commands, Yue Jiaxue slowly lowered her bow, but remained cautiously on guard.

"Da Bai Tu, let Kong Ling go back to the balcony."

Zuo Feng could feel her craving for the blood-red moonlight, and after some thought, he decided to let Kong Ling absorb the moonlight to see what changes would occur.

"Kong Ling, disappear, go there."

Da Bai Tu's slender finger pointed to the balcony; in an instant, Kong Ling's body vanished directly, and when they looked again, she was already standing on the balcony, absorbing the blood-red moonlight.

Seeing this, Zuo Feng couldn't help but sigh in admiration that Da Bai Tu had taught Kong Ling so well; when told to walk, she walked step by step, and when told to disappear, she vanished into space.

It was indeed the correct decision to let Da Bai Tu educate Kong Ling.

Moreover, Zuo Feng had his own ideas about letting Da Bai Tu educate Kong Ling; Da Bai Tu had not become a Mutant, and Zuo Feng planned to entrust Kong Ling to Da Bai Tu in the future.

This way, even if he wasn't by Da Bai Tu's side, with Kong Ling protecting her, Zuo Feng would no longer worry about Da Bai Tu's safety.

Zuo Feng took a deep breath, contemplating his future plans, a hint of determination flashing in his eyes.

"I didn't expect Kong Ling to really be a zombie!"

Yue Jiayu playfully stuck out her tongue; she had already had a slight suspicion about whether Kong Ling was a zombie, and now, she could confirm it.

"Let's observe carefully first; the appearance of this blood moon is strange, and Kong Ling has an instinctive craving for it, so it should be beneficial to her.

But at the same time, this also means that the blood moon is beneficial to other zombies as well…"

Zuo Feng's face showed worry; if it was good for zombies, it certainly wasn't good news for humans.

Pacing towards the balcony, Zuo Feng gazed at Kong Ling under the blood-red moonlight; the blood moon's glow enveloped Kong Ling, as if injecting her with mysterious power.

Zuo Feng mused, "Yue Jiayu mentioned before that zombies evolve; could this blood moon accelerate Kong Ling's evolution?"

Yue Jiayu couldn't contain her curiosity and walked to the balcony, circling Kong Ling to observe her closely.

"Oh! Look, Kong Ling's fingernails are a bit longer and sharper than before; she's growing her nails!"

After about ten minutes, Yue Jiayu observed Kong Ling's abnormality after absorbing the moonlight; Zuo Feng lifted Kong Ling's finger and saw that her nails were now about half a centimeter longer than her fingertips, and their tips had become sharp!

"Don't touch Kong Ling's nails."

Seeing Yue Jiayu, unable to resist her curiosity, reaching out to touch Kong Ling's nails, Zuo Feng immediately stopped her.

He thought of Kong Ling's little fangs that could bite through a sharpening rod, and wondered if these nails would be as sharp and keen as her fangs.

If they were equally sharp, and a mere touch could scratch the skin, that would be a big problem; since Kong Ling was a zombie, did she carry the zombie virus? No one knew.

After a careful observation, Zuo Feng put down Kong Ling's small hand and pried open Kong Ling's small mouth; fortunately, Kong Ling was very cooperative.

Through her open mouth, Zuo Feng saw that Kong Ling's small fangs had actually grown a bit; originally, the four small fangs were only half a centimeter longer than the other small fangs, with a total length of about 1.4 centimeters, but now the total length of the small fangs was almost 2 centimeters.

"Her little fangs have also gotten longer…"

Zuo Feng shook his head; he didn't know if this was a good thing or a bad thing.

Yue Jiayu curiously leaned in to look, her eyes almost touching Kong Ling's small mouth; Zuo Feng never let her touch Kong Ling's small mouth before, and she had always been very curious about Kong Ling's four small fangs.

Zombies clearly all had two small fangs, so why did Kong Ling have four? And they were shorter than other zombies' fangs.

Also, could Kong Ling really bite through a stainless steel sharpening rod into three pieces with one bite? She was so curious!

"Let's go back to the living room first, and let Kong Ling stay on the balcony."

Zuo Feng grabbed Yue Jiayu by the collar and pulled her back to the living room; this Yue Jiayu was truly a curious child, too inquisitive.

Back in the living room, everyone continued to eat until they finished their meal; Kong Ling was still absorbing the blood-red moonlight.

After waiting for about another hour, Kong Ling finally stopped absorbing the moonlight, standing quietly on the balcony motionless.

Zuo Feng called Kong Ling back to the living room; this time, Kong Ling seemed to have absorbed the moonlight to saturation, and no longer had a craving for the blood-red moonlight.

Seeing that Kong Ling was still as obedient as before, Yue Jiayu's courage suddenly grew; she curiously circled Kong Ling, looking left and right, poking her on the left and then on the right.

Now, Kong Ling's nails extended about three centimeters beyond her fingertips, and her diamond fangs had reached a total length of nearly three centimeters!

Even with her small mouth closed, the tips of her fangs were slightly exposed; furthermore, a diamond-shaped vertical line, thinner than a strand of hair and about one centimeter long, appeared on Kong Ling's brow.

Zuo Feng didn't know what this vertical line was.

"Yue Jiayu, go get a sharpening rod!"

Looking at Kong Ling's nails, Zuo Feng wanted to see if they were as sharp as her fangs.

"Alright!"

As soon as she heard "sharpening rod," Yue Jiayu's eyes lit up; Zuo Feng had previously said that Kong Ling's little fangs could bite through a sharpening rod, and she had always been skeptical.

Now, hearing "sharpening rod," Yue Jiayu guessed that Zuo Feng wanted Kong Ling to demonstrate biting through a sharpening rod, so she immediately bounced off to get one; after all, she had collected many sharpening rods…

"Hiss…"

With a soft, almost inaudible sound, Zuo Feng held Kong Ling's slender index finger and lightly drew Kong Ling's nail across the sharpening rod; the sharpening rod was instantly cut through, with no resistance whatsoever!

The sharpness of Kong Ling's nails made all the women's mouths drop open wide; they were so surprised!—That was stainless steel, not paper!

If that scratched a person, just thinking about it gave the women goosebumps!

Looking at the stunned expressions of the women, Zuo Feng felt a bit smug; he glanced at Yue Jiayu, whose mouth was wide open, and a mischievous thought immediately struck him.

He played "noodle slicing" with the poor little girl, quickly shaving a sharpening rod into thin slices with Kong Ling's nail!

"Yue Jiayu, do you want to play with Kong Ling's little fangs again?"

Zuo Feng's smile carried a hint of wickedness, but surprisingly, it didn't scare the timid little girl; instead, she immediately bounced over, excitedly handing him another sharpening rod.

"Yes, yes! Quickly, let Kong Ling take a bite!"

Yue Jiayu's bright, watery eyes were practically glowing; it was so amazing, cutting stainless steel was like cutting paper.

Zuo Feng looked at the new sharpening rod in Yue Jiayu's hand with a black line on his face; this girl, how did she get so brave?

What Zuo Feng didn't know was that during his and Yue Jiaxue's first trip to the Tiger King Alliance, these two women, Yue Jiayu and Da Bai Tu, had stripped Kong Ling to study her.

If Zuo Feng hadn't strictly forbidden them from touching Kong Ling's little fangs, these two women would probably have thoroughly researched Kong Ling's little fangs by now, which is why Yue Jiayu wasn't afraid of Kong Ling at all.

"Da Bai Tu, have you taught Kong Ling how to bite things?"

Zuo Feng took the sharpening rod, looking helplessly at Da Bai Tu; he still didn't know how to give Kong Ling the command to bite something.

"I'll do it!"

Da Bai Tu smilingly took the sharpening rod, placed it in front of Kong Ling's mouth, and simply said 'Bite'; then, Kong Ling's small mouth opened, *crunch*, and the sharpening rod instantly broke into three pieces!

"Wow, she really can bite it into three pieces with one bite!"

Yue Jiayu instantly cheered and jumped excitedly on the spot; Zuo Feng didn't know why she was so excited, perhaps her long-standing curiosity had finally been satisfied.

Da Bai Tu was also incredibly excited; this Kong Ling was too powerful! In the future, when encountering enemies, disappearing and reappearing, a bite or a scratch, even if the enemy was wearing steel plates, they wouldn't be able to withstand it!
