Chapter 8: Yue Jiayu

It was the fourth day of the apocalypse. Zuo Feng opened his groggy eyes and habitually reached for his phone, wanting to hear Da Bai Tu’s voice again, but found the screen pitch black. The battery had long since died.

A sudden panic surged in his heart, as if his last connection to the world had been severed.

The dark phone screen reflected Zuo Feng’s unshaven face, his tired eyes revealing endless confusion.

This damned apocalypse, was it going to take away even his last bond with Da Bai Tu? Zuo Feng took a deep breath, trying to calm his inner anxiety.

In the apocalypse, water resources were precious, so the morning routine of washing up was naturally skipped—he hadn’t washed since the apocalypse began. Grabbing a few pieces of bread and clutching a bottle of yogurt, Zuo Feng walked to the balcony, habitually leaning there, his gaze fixed on the dilapidated fruit store, fruitlessly searching for that familiar figure.

A cold wind swept over him, and he shivered involuntarily.

“It’s getting colder. Is it going to rain?”

Zuo Feng looked up at the gloomy sky, thick with dark clouds, as if they could pour down at any moment.

“Da Bai Tu loves rain.”

A smile involuntarily appeared on Zuo Feng’s lips. He remembered how, on every rainy day, Da Bai Tu, who didn’t have much business, would always call him to chat.

At that time, he would complete one power-leveling task after another amidst Da Bai Tu’s chatter, her joyful laughter seemingly still echoing in his ears.

“Rainwater!” Pulling his thoughts back, Zuo Feng suddenly noticed that some balconies on the opposite building were filled with pots and jars, clearly preparing for the upcoming rain.

There were indeed many smart people. As a city outside the third-tier, X City didn’t have severe pollution or car exhaust, and there were no chemical factories nearby, so the rainwater was relatively clean.

With natural gas still supplied, it was entirely possible to collect rainwater and boil it for use, solving the drinking water problem and adding another layer of security for survival.

Although Zuo Feng’s home had no pots or jars, his next-door neighbor did!

Zuo Feng quickly got up and, with a door creak that set his teeth on edge, Zuo Feng walked out of his room.

“Something’s not right!”

Zuo Feng suddenly stopped, tightening his grip on the sharpening rod in his hand. The corridor was empty.

It was precisely because it was too empty that something felt off. The bodies of the three zombies he had killed yesterday were gone, and drag marks remained on the ground. Zuo Feng vigilantly looked around.

He then relaxed. He saw a pair of women’s sports shoes placed at the door of Room 1301. The edges of the shoes still had traces of grey stains.

That was dried zombie blood. Earlier, Zuo Feng had knocked on the door and received no response, and the door was locked. Zuo Feng had thought no one was home, but now it seemed there was someone inside, they just hadn’t responded to him.

Shaking his head, Zuo Feng no longer paid attention and turned to Room 1303 to find containers for collecting rainwater.

“Oh, for crying out loud!”

Five minutes later, Zuo Feng gave the reinforced door of Room 1301 a helpless glare. The fatty’s house and the next-door neighbor’s had been cleared out again. Not a single pot or bucket was left. Even the basin in the fatty’s house opposite, which contained smelly socks, and the half-bottle of mineral water Zuo Feng hadn’t wanted, were gone.

It had to be said that women were more meticulous than men; any useful supplies had been swept clean.

“Even cleaner than the Japanese invaders scavenging a village.”

Zuo Feng sighed, his gaze sweeping to the end of the corridor.

There was no choice but to go upstairs to retrieve them. Zuo Feng walked towards the stairs, not even thinking of pursuing the matter.

After all, the items weren’t originally his, and what was left were supplies he had already scavenged and didn’t want. What could he say if someone else took them?

What Zuo Feng didn’t know was that behind the reinforced door of Room 1301, a pair of watery eyes were watching him with a nervous expression.

Ten minutes later, Zuo Feng stood in front of Room 1301 with a helpless expression. Well, then! Upstairs was also empty, not even a broken bowl left. It was clearly the work of the same person.

“Knock, knock, knock, is anyone in there?”

Confirming someone was inside, Zuo Feng politely knocked on the door, stepped back, and tried his best to force out a kind smile. He no longer pounded crudely with his fist as before, as he now needed something from them.

Inside, his heart was a stampede of a thousand grass mud horses, but on the surface, he had to maintain his composure. It was like Japanese invaders entering a village, and it was a female invader at that!

“Y-y-yes, what… what do you… you want?” A slightly trembling female voice came from behind the door, clear and melodious, with a hint of nervousness and caution.

Zuo Feng took a deep breath, trying to make his voice sound gentle: “Excuse me, I just wanted to ask if you were the one who went into this floor and the Second Floor above to collect supplies. If so, could I borrow four or five basins or buckets or something?”

Zuo Feng directly stated his purpose; four or five basins or buckets would be enough.

“Alright! You go back and close your door first. I’ll put the basins at your door. When I’m done, I’ll knock on your door, and then you can come out and get them.”

The clear and melodious voice came from inside the door. This time, she spoke more smoothly. Clearly, the woman inside was still very careful and cautious. Her peephole view allowed her to fully see Zuo Feng’s movements of entering and exiting his door.

“Okay, thank you!”

Zuo Feng nodded, turned and returned to Room 1303, gently closing the door, secretly sighing in relief.

After returning to his room, Zuo Feng peered through the peephole, carefully watching the door of 1301. People are always curious, and Zuo Feng was simply curious to see what the owner of that pleasant voice looked like.

“Holy cow!”

Zuo Feng, behind the peephole, was dumbfounded. In the peephole’s world, the door of 1301 soon opened a crack.

A woman stealthily emerged, quickly placed the basins and buckets at Zuo Feng’s door, reached out to knock on his door, then flashed back into 1301, slamming the door shut. Zuo Feng even heard a few clicks of the door being double-locked.

None of this was the main point. The main point was that the girl was wrapped in an extra-long, oversized down jacket, not even revealing her calves. A wide scarf covered her neck and her face below her eyes.

Her eyes were covered by large dark sunglasses, and most excessively, she wore a hat, with all her hair tucked inside, not a single strand showing. One should know it was June now.

Although the temperature had dropped, the girl’s attire was clearly deliberate. There were only two possibilities: either she was too beautiful and feared Zuo Feng would lust after her, or she was too ugly to show her face.

The latter possibility could be ruled out; no matter how ugly someone was, surely their hair wouldn’t be ugly too.

Zuo Feng stood rooted to the spot, his mind racing. Who exactly was this mysterious girl?

“She’s really cautious!”

Zuo Feng shook his head, not paying too much attention. In this apocalypse, being cautious was always the right thing to do.

He opened his door and saw two basins and two buckets.

“She’s actually not bad!”

Zuo Feng silently evaluated her in his heart. Although Zuo Feng had killed the zombies, these were all items Zuo Feng had discarded after searching.

The girl had obtained them by sweeping up, and Zuo Feng was now asking the girl for them. The girl had given them without any conditions, which was quite good. Picking up the buckets and basins, Zuo Feng prepared to return to his room.

“Wait!” The clear and melodious voice made Zuo Feng stop his steps back to his room.

“Something else?” Zuo Feng asked, wondering what else this girl wanted.

“Um, the zombies you killed, it’s best to clean up the bodies!” the girl immediately replied.

“Oh? Why should I clean up zombie bodies?”

Zuo Feng became interested. He also wanted to know why one should clean up zombie bodies after killing them. Clearly, the zombie bodies in the corridor had been cleaned up by the girl, so her courage wasn’t too small; at least, most women might not dare to do it.

“Three cans of food, and I’ll tell you everything I’ve observed. It should be useful to you!”

The clear voice made Zuo Feng’s forehead darken. Alright, he retracted his previous evaluation that the girl was not bad.

“Deal. Should I give you the cans first, or do you speak first?”

Zuo Feng didn’t care about three cans. He had nearly three hundred boxes; three cans were nothing. The girl shouldn’t be a greedy person.

Zuo Feng estimated that the girl had seen him moving cans all afternoon. She knew Zuo Feng had many cans, and she didn’t ask for an exorbitant amount, only three, which was not greedy. Zuo Feng also genuinely wanted to know the reason.

“I’ll speak first. You’re very good at killing zombies, but you haven’t observed them carefully.

First, zombies attack people but don’t eat them; they only want to infect humans. The main methods of infection are scratching or biting humans. Counting from the moment of infection, within twenty seconds at most, the zombie will no longer attack the infected person, but this is on the premise that the infected person also does not attack the zombie, otherwise they will still be attacked. From the moment of infection, it takes at least one hour, and at most two hours, for them to turn into a zombie!

Second, while zombie blood is infectious, merely splashing it on the skin will not cause infection. Of course, if it splashes on wounds or parts like the mouth, nose, or eyes, it will still transmit the infection!

Third, zombies don’t eat humans, but zombies will eat the bodies of dead zombies. I mean eat, not bite. You can see there are no zombie bodies on the road; they’ve all been eaten by living zombies, leaving no bones behind! That’s why I told you to clean up zombie bodies, because zombie bodies might attract other zombies!

Fourth, if an uninfected living person and a zombie body stand together, the zombie will prioritize attacking the human before eating the zombie body.

Fifth, you should know that zombies are attracted by sound and then attack their target. Ordinary people might mistakenly think that as long as they are quiet, they won’t be attacked, but that’s a big mistake. Zombies can smell the scent of living people. This range is not fixed; it can be anywhere from one to ten meters. The furthest I’ve observed is 10 meters. Also, zombies’ eyes can see! In fact, it could be said that zombies’ eyesight is better than humans! However, even though their eyesight is very good, they cannot distinguish between humans and zombies by what they see. This is why once a zombie locks onto a target, even if it runs far away and makes no sound, the zombie will continue to pursue. They can see! And they can see further than humans!

Sixth, the weak points of zombies are not only their heads; they also have a weak point in their heart area, but it seems very small and difficult to hit. I still cannot determine its exact location.

Seventh, this is my guess, but it might also be the most important point! Zombies are evolving! They are like children just learning to walk; at first, their legs sway, and they walk very slowly, but if you observe carefully, you’ll find that each day the zombies’ swaying amplitude will be a little smaller, and their speed will be relatively a little faster. And zombies that eat other zombie bodies will accelerate their evolution! The fastest one I observed downstairs already has a speed close to that of a normal adult male jogging. This is just in terms of speed; whether other aspects have evolved is still uncertain. I cannot determine what zombies will ultimately evolve into, but it is very likely that the later it gets, the more terrifying zombies will become! These are all the discoveries so far…

The girl’s clear and melodious voice stopped, but Zuo Feng felt a chill of fear in his heart. These pieces of information were too important to him!

If he compared himself to the girl, his understanding of zombies was simply pathetic. He had been too overconfident, thinking all zombies were the same, not realizing that some zombies were already approaching the speed of a human jogging. And this didn’t even account for other aspects.

What if their defense increased? Would his dog-gnawed sharpening rod still be able to pierce a zombie’s eye or temple then?

Especially the last point: zombies evolve! Zombies eating zombie bodies further accelerates their evolution. This news was too shocking!

And too terrifying. At the same time, he was amazed by the girl’s meticulousness; in just a few days, she had discovered so much information about zombies!

“Wait a moment.”

Suppressing the shock in his heart, Zuo Feng returned to his room with the basins and buckets, took out three cans of beef, and placed them in front of the girl’s reinforced door. The knowledge the girl gave him was even more valuable to Zuo Feng than three boxes of cans, but would Zuo Feng therefore give the girl more cans?

No! He wouldn’t. Three cans meant three cans! Zuo Feng declared he was an honest man!

“The cans are at your door. If you discover anything else in the future, let me know, and I’ll trade cans for it.”

Gently knocking on the girl’s reinforced door, Zuo Feng turned and returned to his room. He knew that besides being meticulous, the girl was also very cautious. If he was outside, the girl would definitely not take the cans. Sure enough, after Zuo Feng closed his door,

the door of 1301 opened a crack, and a pair of fair, small hands reached out, quickly grabbed the cans, and then rapidly retracted. “She’s terrifyingly cautious!”

Zuo Feng shook his head and turned back into his room.

“Knock, knock, knock!”

Three knocks made Zuo Feng turn back to the reinforced door. Through the peephole, he saw a shadow flash into Room 1301, followed by the sound of the door slamming shut and the click of the lock.

Helplessly rubbing his nose, Zuo Feng opened the reinforced door.

“Is there anything else?” Zuo Feng now held this girl in high regard, after all, her information was too important…

“Um, I saw your weapon. Last night, I found a sharpening stone. I can try to sharpen your weapon. Can I trade it for cans after I’ve sharpened it?”

The girl’s voice seemed to carry a hint of embarrassment. It was understandable, really.

Where could she have found a sharpening stone? Of course, it was one Zuo Feng had discarded after searching. It was also thanks to Zuo Feng leaving the door keys in the doors after he left, otherwise, she wouldn’t even have been able to get inside. Now, she was using the supplies Zuo Feng had just collected to exchange for supplies with Zuo Feng.

“Alright! When you’ve sharpened it, bring it to me to trade. If you need anything in the future, just come directly to me.”

Zuo Feng awkwardly rubbed his nose. He couldn’t even praise his own sharpening skills on the sharpening rod he had. It was like a dog had gnawed it.

The main reason was that his skill was just a tiny bit lacking, just a tiny bit!

The main reason was still the lack of grinding tools. Rubbing it on the cement floor was never ideal, and that stuff required time, patience, and was cumbersome to grind. Now, with someone else grinding it for him and him simply exchanging it for cans, he was more than happy.

"Oh, okay, thank you!"

In Room 1301, the young woman watched the man wave his hand dismissively, indicating no thanks were needed before he returned to his room. She couldn't help but pat her chest and let out a long sigh of relief.

Only then did she shed her stuffy, hot attire. If Zuo Feng could have seen this scene at that moment, he would have been shocked that her appearance was no less stunning than the enchanting proprietress. If one word were to describe it, the proprietress was 'seductive,' while this young woman was 'pitiful.'

Beneath the young woman's smooth forehead, her beautiful eyebrows were delicately and softly drawn, with long eyelashes framing a pair of sparkling, watery eyes.

The young woman's eyes gave off a soft, watery impression, like a little girl on the verge of tears from being bullied.

On her exquisitely delicate and small nose, her two pink, tender nostrils twitched occasionally, like a little hamster pilfering food, making her incredibly adorable.

Below her dainty nose, her thin lips occasionally pressed together gently, showing a hint of stubbornness. Perhaps, this was the last trace of defiance on her delicate, pitiful face.

The young woman's height wasn't particularly tall, 160 cm, which wasn't short in a southern city like X City. Beneath her fair, slender neck was a delicate body wrapped in a loose nightgown.

Although her exact figure couldn't be seen, the occasional glimpse of soft, high curves beneath the loose nightgown indicated a very substantial build.

The young woman's name was Yue Jiayu. Yue Jiayu didn't live here; she lived in dormitory arranged by her workplace.

This Room 1301 was where Yue Jiayu's older sister had moved in just over a month ago. On the day the zombies broke out, Yue Jiayu happened to be on vacation. Yue Jiayu's older sister said she was also on vacation and asked Yue Jiayu to come over so they could go shopping.

Well... shopping, Yue Jiayu loved it! She had her sister's house key and had happily run over early in the morning.

She opened the door and entered her sister's house, but didn't see her sister.

There was only a messy room. Yue Jiayu knew her sister: a goddess in public, but a slovenly hooligan in private.

After making a call to her sister and hanging up, Yue Jiayu's face had turned into a bitter gourd. That hooligan hadn't taken any vacation at all!

She had tricked her weak, pitiful self into coming over to clean the room.

Well... her stubborn self declared that she would absolutely not succumb to the hooligan's tyranny!

She just genuinely loved cleaning; diligent and obedient, she finished cleaning and was obediently waiting in the room for her sister to return...

Unexpectedly, the zombie virus outbreak occurred...

Lying on the sofa, listening to music with headphones on, and waiting for that hooligan to return, she was startled by violent gunshots. She personally witnessed a squad of special forces being surrounded and annihilated by zombies, which turned her face pale with fright. Trembling, she pulled out her phone to call the police.

But she couldn't get through. She tried calling her sister again, but it kept saying 'unavailable.' She was so scared she burst into tears. She was terrified, afraid something had happened to her sister.

Finally, she dialed the base's dedicated emergency assistance number. Fortunately, it connected. The base said they would send someone to pick her up.

At that moment, her heart was filled with hope. She had already reported her situation, and the base had agreed that once they picked her up, they could also pick up her sister.

But she waited and waited, until the signal completely cut out, and no one came to pick her up...

She knew no one was coming. Perhaps the people were attacked on the way, or even the base itself was gone. She was terrified.

She didn't even know how she had managed to survive these past few days, until yesterday, when the grating creak of an opening door startled her.

When she looked through the peephole, she saw a ruffian standing in the hallway, with the bodies of two zombies that had been blocking her door for the past two days lying on the ground. When the third zombie shuffled out, she nearly cried out in alarm. Fortunately, the young man was prepared and swiftly killed the zombie...

She finally got a clear look at the young man.

He had short, dark hair, sword-like eyebrows, and bright eyes, giving him a righteous appearance.

His resolute, square face made him look even more upright.

The only slightly incongruous thing was that when the young man smiled, he always seemed naive and youthful. Overall, he still exuded a sense of righteousness, and his physique was extremely robust, giving a feeling of security. His thick, long legs looked full of explosive power.

Even in a casual, loose top, the firm, solid outlines of his pectoral muscles were evident. Yue Jiayu felt that leaning on his broad shoulders would surely feel very comforting.

His thick, strong arms... Yue Jiayu even specifically glanced at her own long, fair legs, and they were almost as thick...

She ultimately came to a conclusion: the saying in books, 'the arm can't twist the thigh' – that saying was wrong!

If it really came to twisting, her own thigh would be snapped by those thick, strong arms!

Final assessment: righteous, youthful smile, strong and seemingly very secure.

But that's provided you ignore the first impression of him standing with one hand in his pocket and a slouched shoulder, that ruffian-like stance.

But first impressions are very important. The first label Yue Jiayu gave Zuo Feng was that of a street hooligan who had nothing to do all day.

Now... well, a handsome and strong hooligan.

She watched Zuo Feng collect supplies after killing the zombies, and she watched very carefully.

Until—she saw Zuo Feng slyly use a bank card to swipe open a tightly closed door.

Her mind immediately started filling in the blanks: a street hooligan who idled around all day with nothing to do,

Mixing around outside during the day, and then at night, he'd sneak around, picking locks and burglarizing homes!

The handsome older brother was a hooligan and a thief!

When the young man reached the door of 1301, Yue Jiayu was terrified. His act of pounding on the door with his fist was truly rude. To actually use his fist to pound! If Zuo Feng knew Yue Jiayu's thoughts, he would surely cry foul, as he was clearly just gently tapping with his fist...

Yue Jiayu was terrified. She also saw the young man start using a bank card to swipe open her sister's door. Her heart was in her throat. If that young man broke in, how could her small body resist? Would he pose her in 108 different ways and then... beat her!

Her hooligan sister always threatened her, saying she would pose her in 108 different ways and then beat her. At this moment, Yue Jiayu was truly scared. She didn't know what the 108 poses were, but being beaten in so many poses must hurt a lot!

Yue Jiayu almost cried from fright. She even heard the click of the lock being opened, but fortunately, it couldn't be fully opened.

The bank card couldn't unlock the bolted door, but she was truly, truly scared. Covering her mouth, she was afraid she would scream. Hungry and pathetic, she watched the young man leave through the peephole.

She really wanted to cry. Her slovenly sister's house had no food left at all. She was truly thirsty and hungry now...

Then, from behind the peephole, she watched the hooligan move many boxes of cans all afternoon. She even meticulously counted 292 boxes of cans!

Hungry, Yue Jiayu's mouth watered. She even had a thought:

Maybe... let that hooligan hit her a few times, in exchange for some cans? But then she thought of the terrifying number, 108 poses...

Yue Jiayu was ultimately too scared.

All day long, she meticulously observed through the peephole. Then she saw the young man enter his room and not come out again!

That hooligan actually didn't clean up the zombie bodies. Didn't he know that zombie bodies might attract more zombies? And that wasn't even the most important thing. The most important thing was that zombies that ate other zombie bodies would become stronger.

If they weren't cleared away, stronger zombies would eventually appear on this floor. She watched until night, and still didn't see the hooligan come out. She was truly too hungry...

Finally, she mustered up her courage. The weak, pitiful, and helpless Yue Jiayu cried as she pushed the zombie bodies down the floor.

She didn't dare to cry out loud, afraid of alarming that hooligan and being posed in 108 different ways.

Fortunately, although that hooligan closed the doors of the rooms he had searched, he had thankfully left the keys in the doors of each room.

With a flashlight in hand, Yue Jiayu cautiously searched the 13th floor, then gritted her teeth and ran to the 14th and 15th floors.

She ultimately concluded that the hooligan was either very careless or not thorough enough, as he had left many useful things behind.

But he had searched for food and water so thoroughly. Returning to her room after searching for supplies, Yue Jiayu found the food and water she had gathered that night laid out before her.

A piece of bread with one bite taken out (fresh tooth marks, likely discarded by the hooligan after tasting it to check for spoilage),

A slightly rotten apple, and a banana with only a tenth left, clearly discarded by the hooligan after eating.

A half-empty bottle of mineral water was found in that fat man's house—no, not a house! A sty! A pigsty!

Yue Jiayu felt a wave of nausea. Yet, she had still searched inside for a long time. Even now, she felt her pajamas smelled of stinky socks—a penetrating stinky sock smell!

There was also an unopened 4.5-liter large bottle of mineral water, found under a bed upstairs. The hooligan hadn't discovered it, otherwise it would surely be gone too...

Yue Jiayu dug out the rotten part of the apple, ate the apple, and then ate the banana and bread. She didn't dig out the parts that had been bitten; she was almost starving to death, who cared about those things?

As long as it wasn't spoiled, it was fine. Then she looked at the half-empty bottle of mineral water with a bitter expression. She thought of the scene full of crawling maggots, and tears welled up in her eyes. She cried for a long time, crying as she poured the mineral water into a cup, crying as she took a small sip, unwilling to finish it...

That night, Yue Jiayu curled her delicate body and slept by the door. The shoes by the door were left there intentionally; she wanted to exchange food with the hooligan!

"Creak."

The ear-grating sound of the door opening in the morning woke Yue Jiayu, who had gone to sleep very late. Through the peephole, she saw the hooligan leave. She nervously watched the hooligan run into several other rooms,

Then run out and stare at the door of her room, looking so fierce!

So scary! Yue Jiayu, who had mustered the courage to exchange food, almost cried again from fright. That hooligan must have discovered she had searched for supplies. He was angry, so fierce! He definitely wanted to beat her, the kind with 108 poses! The courage she had built up all night instantly dissipated...

Then, she saw the hooligan run upstairs again. Yue Jiayu's body went limp with fear.

She knew that when the hooligan went upstairs, he would definitely discover that the upstairs rooms had all been searched again. That hooligan must have gone upstairs first to confirm, and then settle the score!

Sure enough, after a short while, the hooligan ran to her door, looking even fiercer! At this moment, Yue Jiayu's heart was filled with despair. This was it, 108 poses probably wouldn't be enough!

Yue Jiayu was truly crying from fear. She saw the hooligan actually force a smile!

He must be trying to trick her into opening the door, and then... rush in and beat her, posing her in more than 108 ways!

Fortunately, in the end, the hooligan only wanted basins and buckets. Yue Jiayu didn't dare not to give them. Fortunately, the hooligan agreed to her suggestion. Seeing the hooligan actually go back,

Only then did she dare to go get the basins and buckets. As for being fully armed, that was her last resort. If she accidentally got caught, being so heavily wrapped should... shouldn't hurt too much when she's beaten, right...?

Clearly, Zuo Feng's speculation was wrong. Who would have thought the young woman's reason for being so heavily wrapped was actually fear of being beaten...

Fortunately, everything went smoothly in the end. She wasn't caught or beaten. She was also surprised to find that even with wobbly legs, she could run very fast!

Yue Jiayu, her small face flushed with nervousness, watched through the peephole as the hooligan, after taking the bucket, actually seemed to be going back to his room, as if he had no intention of beating her. Finally, she gathered her courage.

She called out to the hooligan and proposed an exchange. Her first plan was to exchange based on her observations. Originally, she only intended to exchange for 1 can, as she felt those were things that could be discovered with a little observation, and she didn't think they were very valuable.

If she hadn't noticed the hooligan's carelessness, he probably wouldn't have observed closely, and she wouldn't have even dared to propose exchanging information from her observations. As for why she said 3 cans, she remembered her sister teaching her to haggle by cutting the price in half!

She was afraid the hooligan would haggle, so in her cleverness, she added 1 more. But she hadn't expected the hooligan to be so straightforward and not haggle at all!

Holding 3 cans in her hand, Yue Jiayu excitedly jumped up. 3 cans! Yue Jiayu praised herself for her quick wit!

Seeing the transaction actually succeed, Yue Jiayu felt that the hooligan didn't seem so scary after all, and she grew a bit bolder. She never expected her second plan to also succeed!

The hooligan even said that if she had other news in the future, she could also exchange it for cans. Then she could grind weapons on the balcony while observing zombies, double income! She truly was a clever little ghost!

Carefully placing the three cans on the dining table, she opened one, took a third of it with a spoon, and meticulously licked the sauce clean from the spoon with her crimson tongue. Patting her flat stomach, she finally put down the spoon, still wanting more, and carefully sealed the remaining large portion of the can. It felt so good not to be hungry!

A grinding sound echoed from Room 1301. From time to time, a small head would peek out onto the balcony, then quickly retract back inside...
