The two people in the room chatted for a while longer. They had pretty much covered all possible topics and really didn't know what else to say. Yi Xing took out his phone, opened an app, and a familiar "Timi" sound came from it.
He invited the person sitting on the bed, "Want to play a round?"
"Didn't you say you don't play before? Why are you suddenly playing now?" Although Ju Jingyi was very confused why he also started playing, she quickly took out her phone and opened Honor of Kings.
"I played it a bit a while ago, thought it was quite interesting, so I kept it."
Before, when she asked Yi Xing if he played Honor of Kings, he had only heard about the game from others and hadn't actually played it. He usually played League of Legends.
To understand her better, he specifically downloaded it to try. With a foundation in MOBA games, he picked up Honor of Kings really quickly, but he still hadn't played much, only knowing the skills of a few heroes.
"What's your in-game name? I'll add you as a friend."
"I'll copy and send it to you. There are special characters I can't say."
"Okay."
He copied his nickname and sent it to Ju Jingyi via WeChat. Then, his game interface received a friend request. After adding her as a friend,
Yi Xing originally wanted to invite her to a ranked match, but he looked at his rank, then at her rank. The difference was too great; they couldn't play together. He silently opened the casual match interface and sent a team invitation.
At the same time, he made a silent resolution: he needed to figure out a way to spend some time raising his rank. Playing casual matches wasn't as interesting as playing ranked.
"Playing casual matches should be fine, right?"
"It's fine! Aren't we just trying to pass the time? Playing anything is the same. But don't drag me down!"
"How could I? I'm very powerful."
At first, Yi Xing was completely unaccustomed to the pace of this game. He thought, like League of Legends, a game would take at least half an hour. Who knew the fastest match could end in a few minutes? And there was no need to recall to buy equipment, no need to place wards; the game difficulty was greatly reduced.
The two played games together for over two hours. Suddenly, a faint knock came from outside the door, followed by a male voice: "Xiao Xing, why aren't you answering your phone? We need to go to the site."
"Okay, coming right now," Yi Xing replied loudly. Just then, their team had pushed to the enemy's high ground and took down the game in one fell swoop.
"You heard it, I'm about to leave. You can stay here as long as you want, just remember to close the door properly when you leave."
"Why do you still need to go to the site? Why didn't I receive this notification?" Ju Jingyi stood up from the bed, turned off the game, and checked her WeChat. There was no relevant information. If they were going, shouldn't everyone go together? So she asked, puzzled.
"Our program still has a few flaws. The director wants us to practice well and go again tonight."
"I see, then you go." She sat back down. There was no way she could go out with him; that would make others misunderstand their relationship. She would leave after the people outside had gone.
Yi Xing picked up the jacket on the chair and put it on. He put his phone in his pocket, opened the door, and walked out. Standing at the door was Zhang Han.
"What were you doing in there? Why didn't you answer the phone?"
"I was just sleeping. My phone was on do not disturb. If Brother Han hadn't come to call me, I really wouldn't have known when I'd wake up."
"It's fine, the sisters haven't come out yet either. They're probably just waking up too." Zhang Han patted the person next to him on the shoulder.
"Then it's fine."
Yi Xing took out his phone and sent a message to the person in the room, informing her of the situation outside the door and telling her not to come out for now.
"【Yi Xing: We're waiting for people outside. If you want to leave, you'll have to wait a bit.】"
"【Ju Jingyi: I know, I won't be leaving that quickly.】"
Ju Jingyi, inside the room, had already collapsed onto his bed. She was a bit tired from sitting and wanted to lie down for a while. Anyway, she was the only one in there, so lying down should be fine, right?
Lying down was just too comfortable. Unconsciously, she felt a wave of drowsiness wash over her, slowly closing her eyes and drifting into sleep.
Fortunately, Yi Xing hadn't taken the room card when he left, and the air conditioning had been on constantly. Otherwise, if she had slept like that, she would surely have caught a cold. By the time she woke up, it was already pitch black outside.
A familiar phone ringtone sounded. She fumbled towards the source of the sound, picked up her phone, and squinted as she answered the call. Lin Shiyi's voice came from the other end.
"Where are you? Didn't you say you'd be back early tonight? I'm waiting to eat with you!"
"Hmm~ What time is it now?"
"It's past seven."
"What?! It's that late!"
Knowing the exact time now, Ju Jingyi couldn't quite believe it. She suddenly opened her eyes wide, took the phone from her ear, and held it in front of her. It really was past seven. She scrambled out of bed and said into the phone,
"Wait a moment, I'll be right there."
"From your voice, you wouldn't have just woken up, would you?" Lin Shiyi was very familiar with her just-woken-up voice, as they had been sleeping together ever since they came to Xing City.
"No! I can't talk to you now, that's it."
After hanging up the phone, she put on her jacket, took the room card, and cautiously opened the door. After checking her surroundings and confirming no one was passing by, she walked out, closed the door, and took the elevator to her own floor.
In the elevator, she sent a message to Yi Xing, telling him she had his room card and he could get it from her later, but she didn't get a reply. He was probably still busy.
Not long after returning to her room, she was pulled out to eat by Lin Shiyi. She then sent him her location, so that someone wouldn't be unable to find her when he returned to the hotel later.
The two of them were happily eating when the person who received the message arrived. Yi Xing walked over as soon as he got out of the car arranged by the program team. Seeing Ju Jingyi inside, he wasn't in a hurry anymore and ordered what he wanted to eat at the front desk.
Because not only did their performance need to be shown to the director again that night, but some other people's performances did too. This meant that it was still light when they left, but completely dark when they returned, and they were only now getting ready for dinner.
"Yi Xing, over here! I didn't expect you to come so quickly!" Ju Jingyi looked up, saw him, waved him over, and told him to sit next to her.
"When you sent me the message, I had just arrived at the hotel, so I just came straight over. And this is?" Yi Xing answered her question, then sat down and looked at the girl opposite him.
"She's Lin Shiyi, my good friend. And this is Yi Xing, whom I told you about."
As the intermediary, she introduced the two of them, allowing them to formally meet.
"Hello, I'm Yi Xing."
"Hello, I'm Lin Shiyi. Thank you for taking care of our Xiao Ju on the show."
"You're welcome, we all take care of each other."
Not long after, what Yi Xing ordered was brought to the table, and the two people at the same table had almost finished eating. Ju Jingyi took his room card from her pocket and returned it to him.
"Here, this is your room card. We're done eating, so we're leaving first." If she were alone, she would have waited, but since Lin Shiyi was there, she couldn't do that.
"Okay, be careful on your way back."
"Got it."
After seeing the two girls off, he lowered his head and ate what he had ordered. The speed of eating alone was truly fast; he finished the meal within three minutes and returned to his room to do his pre-sleep routine.
Lying on the bed, he smelled a familiar scent. He had only smelled this scent on Ju Jingyi, and he understood that someone had slept on his bed while he was at rehearsal. The corners of his mouth gradually turned up, and with a sweet smile, he drifted off to sleep.
