Chapter 20: Regional blockade lifted

Yi Xing composed himself and squatted by the city wall, closely monitoring the surroundings. Although he had already relayed the message to everyone, what if there was still a need for him? Moreover, he carried Liu Xuhui's entrustment and couldn't be eliminated so easily.

He picked up his phone and checked the remaining time. There were less than 10 minutes left until the 20-minute countdown. He muttered to himself, "I hope they can successfully complete the mission."

Everyone in the city knew how to approach this mission and had their own ideas. Those close to Star Moon Pavilion proactively went there to find Fan Li, while those close to the General's Residence went to General Qi first to relay the current situation.

Ju Jingyi was the first to arrive at the General's Residence. She believed that Yi Xing wouldn't let her shoulder the heavy burden alone and would definitely notify others.

So she chose the place closest to her and was about to charge in when she was stopped by the guards at the entrance.

"The General's Residence is an important place; idlers are not allowed inside!" he said, raising the weapon in his hand.

"Is General Qi in the residence?"

"The General is in the residence. What is your business with him?"

"It's like this: Fan Li is in danger and sent me to ask the General for help."

Ju Jingyi outlined her purpose as a last resort. Yi Xing hadn't told her that she needed to report before seeing General Qi.

Hearing Fan Li's name, the guard's stern expression softened considerably. He put his weapon back on the ground, stepped aside, and spoke in a friendlier tone.

"Since it's about Master Fan Li, please come in, young lady. The General is currently practicing swordplay in the residence."

She quickly entered the General's Residence. What greeted her was a man in armor, casually swinging the sword in his hand, which was a different kind of "swordplay."

She bowed before speaking. There was no other way; being in the era arranged by the production team, she had to immerse herself to feel a sense of engagement.

"Hello, General Qi. I am a friend of Fan Li. He is in danger outside the city and needs a warrant to lift the city gate's lockdown."

"Oh? You say you are a friend of Fan Li. Do you have proof? Without proof, I won't believe your words."

Ju Jingyi gave a bitter laugh. It seemed this mission truly couldn't skip a single step. She had to bring Fan Li here to get the warrant from General Qi.

Then the mission would be completed, one link after another, without any opportunity to skip stages. Now she could only pin her hopes on her companions who had gone to find Fan Li. She hoped they would be fast; time waits for no one!

As luck would have it, Zhao Jiamin made the same choice, both wanting to see if they could find a breakthrough with General Qi.

The moment she entered the General's Residence, she saw Ju Jingyi standing idly by. She quietly walked over, patted her shoulder, and shouted, "Ha!"

Startled by the sudden pat and shout, she shivered and let out a yelp, turning her head sharply. She thought a hunter had caught her from behind, but then she realized it was her good friend.

First, she secretly congratulated herself, then her tone became slightly reproachful: "Ah! Why do you walk without a sound? You scared me to death! By the way, do you know what we need to do next?"

"I know. Brother Yi Xing called and told me. At that time, Brother Du Chun and I were together, so we divided the work."

"He's responsible for bringing Fan Li here, and I'm responsible for checking the situation at the General's Residence. But since you're already standing here, this person must be General Qi, right?"

Zhao Jiamin nodded. She knew exactly what to do next, otherwise, she wouldn't have come to the General's Residence.

"Yes, he said that if we want to get the warrant, we first need to show proof of our acquaintance with Fan Li before he'll believe us. So I can only stand here and wait for the others."

"Then I'll wait with you."

Du Chun, who was mentioned in their conversation, arrived at the Star Moon Pavilion entrance. There, he also met two other people: Wang Yuan and Yi Yang Qianxi. These two came together, unlike him, a lone wolf.

"Brother Du Chun, did you also rush over because of Brother Xiao Xing's message?" Wang Yuan greeted him excitedly.

"Yes, you two were also called by Yi Xing? Is he the only one outside the city?"

At these words, the three exchanged glances, feeling a pang of fear about their decision. Fortunately, one person chose to stay outside the city; otherwise, this mission couldn't have proceeded.

"He's quite impressive."

"Indeed." Yi Yang Qianxi silently nodded in agreement, but his heart was far from calm. Ever since he was young, he had heard that his Brother Xiao Xing was always called 'someone else's child.'

At the time, he was still naive and thought it was just an exaggeration. Now, after officially interacting with him, he realized how naive he had been back then. There are only people who are misjudged, not nicknames that are misapplied.

"Alright, alright, there's no time left! Less than 8 minutes remain. We need to quickly take Fan Li to the General's Residence." Du Chun, the eldest of the three, took on the responsibility of giving orders.

Daring not to delay any longer, they rushed into Star Moon Pavilion and found Fan Li and Xi Shi in a courtyard, holding hands and whispering sweet nothings. Seeing this, he walked straight up to them.

He grabbed Fan Li's arm and led him out. The other two young ones sensibly split up, one running ahead and the other standing at the back, keeping watch and constantly looking out for any hunters.

"Young Master, why are you so rude? Can't you speak properly?"

"The situation is urgent, Master Fan Li. I'll explain everything on the way, but now we need you to come with us to the General's Residence."

"Your six fellow disciples are in danger outside the city, but the city gate is currently under lockdown, so they can't enter. Only by obtaining General Qi's warrant can the lockdown be lifted."

"I understand, Xi Shi. I'll go with these young masters for now. You stay here and wait for me to return," Fan Li called back to the woman standing under the tree.

"Okay, okay, I'll stand right here and won't go anywhere."

The journey was thrilling. Not long after leaving Star Moon Pavilion, they encountered a hunter. The escort team instantly vanished, hiding until the hunter left before continuing the mission.

When there were no acceleration team members around Fan Li, he wouldn't move but would wait in place for the so-called "guides" to return.

"Three young masters, where did you go just now? Let's quickly go to the General's Residence to save my fellow disciples."

"We'll take you there now."

"Thank you, young master!"

After safely escorting Fan Li to the General's Residence entrance, the three boys collectively let out a long sigh of relief and smiled at each other.

Finally, at the 22-minute mark of the countdown, they successfully obtained the warrant from General Qi, lifting the blockade inside and outside the city. At the same time, they received a notification on their phones that Mission Three had been successfully completed.

A great weight was lifted from everyone's hearts. They could finally rest a little. It felt different when there wasn't a mission hanging over them.
