Chapter 3: May I have your name?

The only answer Yi Xing received was endless silence. Realizing he might have said the wrong thing, he didn't know what to say to break the current situation.

So he walked over to the girl and squatted down next to her. Maybe changing his posture to think would give him more ideas.

"How about you come with me later?"

Hearing this, the girl immediately clasped her hands over her chest, looking at him with a wary expression, as if she was about to scream any second.

At this moment, her inner monologue was: What does he want to do? Sure enough, Mom wasn't lying when she said there are many bad people in big cities. Mom, where are you? Come save me!

"Hold on a moment. I just returned from abroad and haven't quite adapted to the domestic communication environment yet. Let me switch my chat system."

Yi Xing froze after saying this. According to what he had just said, it would be perfectly fine abroad.

However, in China, it could easily be misunderstood as being a pervert, especially when it was only their first meeting.

The girl next to him waved her hand in front of his eyes. Seeing that he truly had no reaction, she finally relaxed a little. Her hands no longer remained clasped over her chest, and instead, she began to size up the man in front of her.

From his clothes, she could only tell that the material was very good and looked expensive, though she didn't recognize the brand.

He was holding the latest model of phone on the market. Although one shouldn't judge a book by its cover, given his conditions, he probably wouldn't do *that* kind of thing to her.

So, she completely dropped her guard and returned to her previous squatting posture, gazing distractedly at the cars coming and going in the distance. She still didn't know how to get to Jiaxing Road.

She couldn't possibly take a taxi, could she? She was here for an audition, and whether she would even pass was uncertain. She definitely needed to save money where she could.

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting. What I meant was, a car will come to pick me up later, and it happens to pass by Jiaxing Road. If you're willing, you can hitch a ride with me."

"Wouldn't that be too much trouble for you? I can pay."

"Stop. If you're willing, don't say anything extra. Just come with me. If you're not willing, you can go back and take the subway. Take Line 2 and then transfer to Line 4. You'll have to ask others which station to get off at."

After Yi Xing finished speaking, he pulled his suitcase and walked towards the car not far away. Knowing he was bringing some luggage back, the driver specially brought a large-capacity car to pick him up.

Just as he was halfway there, he heard the sound of suitcase wheels behind him. A beautiful curve appeared on his lips as he continued walking forward.

The driver of the car saw his young master approaching in the rearview mirror, quickly opened the trunk, then opened the car door and jogged over to him to take his luggage.

He looked back at Yi Xing's behind with a hint of surprise. As someone who had worked for the Yi family for many years, he naturally knew what to ask and what not to ask.

"Please give me the luggage, and you can get in the car first."

While saying this, the driver constantly observed Yi Xing's reaction. If he made any unusual move, he would immediately retract his words. So far, there seemed to be no problem.

"No, no, I'll do it myself." The girl quickly waved her hand, declining his kind offer.

"It's fine, it's fine. This is my job."

How could a young girl's strength compare to a grown man's? In a few swift movements, the driver was pushing a suitcase with each hand, slowly following behind the two, not daring to exceed them by half a step.

Shifting the perspective to the car, although the two people in the back seat were sitting together, the distance between them seemed as vast as a galaxy. Perhaps feeling the atmosphere in the car was a bit awkward, the person in front turned his head and asked,

"Young Master, are we going home now, or would you like to go somewhere else first?"

"To Jiaxing Road."

After Yi Xing stated his destination, he adjusted his sitting posture and turned his head to look outside. The girl next to him had already heard someone address him as 'Young Master', so his subsequent actions had to live up to that title.

"Alright."

The car sped down the road. He looked at the scenery outside, pondering how to start a new topic. He wasn't usually a very talkative person; he generally waited for others to approach him, unless it was someone he knew well, which was a different story.

After the silence continued for a while, Yi Xing finally spoke, "Looking at you, it seems like this is your first time in Modu, right? Is there something you're here for?"

"Have you heard of AKB48?"

"What's that? A new car model?"

"It's a Japanese female idol group. There's an SNH48 here in Modu. I signed up online, and the person in charge notified me to come for the audition tomorrow, which is why I came to Modu."

The girl patiently explained her reason for being there. She shouldn't have said so much to a stranger, but for some reason, she had a strong feeling that the person in front of her was worth confiding in.

Or perhaps it was because she had come to an unfamiliar city alone, carrying her dreams, and happened to meet a kind-hearted person, so she naturally had more to say.

"I see. Well, I wish you good luck and hope you successfully pass the selection."

"Thank you. I'm quite confident about passing the selection; otherwise, I wouldn't have made up my mind to come here."

Yi Xing stared into her eyes, seeing a deep-seated confidence emanating from her still somewhat naive gaze.

It turned out this girl was the same type of person as him: full of self-confidence before doing something, regardless of success or failure.

After discussing that topic, the car returned to silence. Fortunately, the destination wasn't far. As the girl got out of the car, she turned back and said to him,

"Thank you, you're a really good person!"

Yi Xing, who had inexplicably received a 'good person card,' was a bit stunned. He quickly adjusted and replied,

"You're welcome. That group is called SNH48, right? I'll keep an eye on their announced member list. What's your name?"

"My name is Ju Jingyi. The 'Yi' is the same 'Yi' as in Fei Yi, Dong Yun, and others from the 'Chu Shi Biao'."

"Ju Jingyi, I'll remember that..."

Yi Xing was about to say something more when he saw that Ju Jingyi had already walked away with her suitcase, so he swallowed his words.

"Xiao Xing, where are we going next?"

When there were no outsiders present, the driver's address changed significantly, from the respectful 'Young Master' to the affectionate 'Xiao Xing'. He didn't want to be scolded by his young master.

"Let's go home, Uncle Zhou."

"Alright."

The car started up again, found a U-turn spot, and drove back in the direction they came from. In fact, Yi Xing's way home didn't pass through Jiaxing Road at all.

This was a temporary idea he came up with, deliberately taking a detour to give her a ride, as compensation for his earlier accidental slip of the tongue.
