Chapter 46: Yes, sister, yes

After leaving the room, the two walked down the corridor towards the elevator, so quietly that only their footsteps could be heard. Yi Xing looked at Ju Jingyi walking in front of him, took a deep breath, and expelled the strange feeling in his heart.

He quickly walked up to her side and started chatting casually.

With a 'ding', the elevator doors in front of them slowly opened. Inside stood a man and a woman.

When the woman saw them, her eyes lit up, and she happily greeted, "What a coincidence to run into you two here! But how did you two end up together again?"

"Sister Na, it is quite a coincidence. We just happened to meet in the corridor, so we decided to go together. The person next to you should be Teacher He, right? Teacher He, hello, I am Yi Xing. You can call me Yi Xing or Xiao Xing."

He concealed the truth of the matter. He couldn't possibly say that the girl came to his room, as that would look bad for her.

"Teacher He, hello, my name is Ju Jingyi. Everyone around me calls me Xiao Ju."

That's right, the people in the elevator were Xie Na and He Jiong. The former had invited the latter to attend the dinner party that evening. He Jiong had rushed over right after finishing the recording of another show and met up with her at the hotel.

He wore his characteristic friendly smile and responded warmly, "Hello, Xiao Xing, Xiao Ju. Na Na told me. Thank you for taking care of her on the show."

Then, he exchanged glances with Xie Na next to him, a skill they had mastered over years of working together.

"Na Na, are they dating now?"

"I don't know either. They told me they're just friends, and I didn't want to press further since we just met today."

"I think they'd be a good match. I'll find an opportunity to see if I can give them a little push."

"Can you please change this habit of yours, always playing matchmaker for others!"

"I can't change it. It's become a habit after so many years."

He Jiong was always particularly keen on adding to his matchmaking career. For example, his assistance played a part in Xie Na's romantic journey. Even when he had just met someone, he couldn't suppress his eager heart.

Ever since Yi Xing and Ju Jingyi entered the elevator, it remained in an extremely quiet state, with only the sound of the elevator descending.

With outsiders present, they didn't know what to talk about, so being quiet decorations was fine. Passive socializing was indeed like this.

Noticing the somewhat quiet atmosphere, Xie Na smiled and broke the silence. She thought the show recorded today was quite interesting and wanted to play another round if she had time later, so she wanted to get some tips from a certain 'Acceleration King'.

"Xiao Xing, your hunter evasion techniques seem very powerful, but I feel like I can't learn them. Do you have any simpler recommendations?"

Yi Xing, as if a keyword had been triggered, turned to her and answered seriously.

"Yes, Sister Na, there are! Of course, there's more than one such powerful trick. There are three in total, all of which are little tricks to survive to the end. Learning one of them can guarantee you at least until Task Three. If you learn all three, then winning the 'Acceleration King' title is just a matter of time."

"First, when we enter the game area, first find a place you feel is relatively safe, observe the surrounding terrain, and figure out where to run more effectively if a hunter comes. Then, hide there and wait for the mission to be released. If the mission is too far away, you can consider not doing it and continue to wait for the next mission."

"Second, when you see a hunter appearing nearby, remember to quickly make a phone call to someone. This way, you won't risk your phone suddenly ringing."

"Third, once you feel you're about to reach your limit, immediately choose to forfeit. Protecting your health is important. Others won't say anything, and since the show has this option, it means it's part of the game content. Learning to make choices is also very important."

When the conversation turned to an area where Yi Xing had more experience, his words gradually increased.

He didn't understand most things in the entertainment industry now, and because he didn't understand, he wouldn't speak. So sometimes, he basically couldn't interject in other people's conversations and could only act as an ordinary background.

Xie Na nodded incessantly after he finished speaking. As for whether she had actually listened, only she knew. Her expression was full of gratitude: "With your valuable advice, I will definitely win 'Acceleration King' next time! What about you, Xiao Ju, do you have any experience you can teach me?"

Ju Jingyi was stunned. Why was she involved? She thought for a moment about how to answer and then said, "I don't have any experience. I've always followed Yi Xing. Wherever he goes, I go."

After speaking, she stuck out her tongue, a little embarrassed, a hint of unnatural blush appearing.

"Don't say that, you've helped me a lot too!" Yi Xing quickly looked at her sincerely.

A companion who obeys arrangements, acts as a lookout, and provides emotional value is impossible to find even with a lantern.

He Jiong, who hadn't joined the conversation, observed the two from outside. From these dialogues, he gradually formed an answer in his heart.

It didn't quite sound like a conversation between lovers, nor like a conversation between friends; it was somewhere in between.

Immediately after, he looked up information on Yi Xing and Ju Jingyi on his phone. There was very little information about the male available online, but much more about the female, though most of it was negative articles regarding her 'four-thousand-year beauty' title. He also knew she was a member of the SNH48 group and an idol.

Before he could even formulate a plan to set them up, he dismissed the idea. It was well-known throughout the industry that idols couldn't be in relationships, and he didn't want to be the one to ruin someone's career.

He sighed with great regret, his voice neither too loud nor too soft, perfectly covered by the sound of the elevator.

The four of them exited. Xie Na and Ju Jingyi walked in front. Both of them were from the Bashu area of Sichuan, so they naturally communicated in their local dialect. As for He Jiong and Yi Xing behind them, there wasn't as much conversation; it was basically a Q&A.

"Na Na said you graduated from Cambridge?"

"Yes, I just graduated this year."

"Oh, very good, very good."

"Teacher He, can I exchange contact information with you? 'Happy Camp' is a show I've always watched."

"Of course, no problem."

After exchanging contact information with He Jiong, Yi Xing typed a note in the input box and sent it, then put away his phone.

This was a rare connection, and whether he could use it or not, adding him as a friend was always a good thing.
