Chapter 73: Resurrection Competition

Yi Xing, who was eating snacks with Ju Jingyi nearby, suddenly heard someone call him. He turned his head in confusion. He was the first one caught, so why was he still involved? He casually wiped his hands and walked over.

"What's up? Why are you calling me?"

"Congratulations, you're the captain now! You and Tian Liang will each pick teammates to form a revival team. Have you thought about who you want to choose?" Huang Xiaoming said, not forgetting to hand over his phone so Yi Xing could read the newly released mission.

Yi Xing took the phone and scanned the message quickly, returning it three seconds later. He had a general understanding of the current situation. He walked out of the intermission room and looked at everyone inside, observing their reactions, seemingly considering them for his team.

In his mind, he already had a general idea and candidates, but he wasn't sure if Jia Nailiang would agree with him. He decided to voice it first. If Jia Nailiang disagreed, they could always have a scramble for teammates later.

"I have thought it through, but I'm afraid you won't agree with my choices."

"Oh? Tell me." Jia Nailiang was struggling with who to pick, so hearing Yi Xing's words immediately piqued his interest. It was perfect to have someone help him make a decision at this moment.

"When you guys traveled to the Song Dynasty, weren't there exactly 10 of you? And we, the eliminated ones, are also exactly 10 people. How about we form teams according to that grouping? We go to the Qin Dynasty, and you go to the Song Dynasty. How does that sound?"

As soon as he voiced his idea, it received approval from others. Huang Xiaoming, Tian Liang, and Ju Jingyi quickly sided with him, moving so fast as if afraid Jia Nailiang would snatch them away.

"Xiao Liang Ge, what do you think of this grouping?"

After much deliberation, Xiao Liang Ge finally agreed. He really didn't know who to choose, and if he didn't pick certain people, wouldn't he offend them? Grouping them as Yi Xing suggested was good; it avoided the aforementioned risks.

"Okay, let's do it!"

"So, shall we proceed with the formalities?"

"Mhm."

After the two had chosen their respective teammates, they proceeded to two different game areas as planned. Yi Xing finally left the cage, skipping and hopping outside. The nine people behind him could all feel his excitement.

He was still relatively restrained; if it were just familiar faces, he would have completely let loose. After all, he was caught the earliest and had been inside for over an hour. Anyone would go a little crazy.

Ju Jingyi held her forehead, feeling a bit overwhelmed by his behavior. With so many people around, couldn't he be more mindful? Such cute actions were fine for her in private, there was no need for others to know. So she asked,

"Hey, Yi Xing, do we have any plans next?"

"No plans, but I have five words for everyone: survive well!"

As the two teams' accelerator members stepped into their respective game areas, the notice from the production team also arrived.

"In both areas, a live Hunter card machine and an equal number of Hunter cards have been placed. For every Hunter card a team member finds and inserts into the live Hunter card machine located on the main street, one Hunter will be added to the opposing team's area."

"After fifteen minutes, the team with more survivors will be fully revived."

Yi Xing read the message, frowned slightly, then smiled faintly. This was forcing them to kill each other. Interesting, truly interesting.

He stopped moving forward and turned to discuss with his teammates how they should proceed.

"Xiao Ming Ge, I remember you saying you filmed here before, right? So you must be very familiar with the terrain here?"

"I couldn't be more familiar. These few spots on the map allow you to circle around the Hunters. If there's danger, try to run to places where you can circle." Huang Xiaoming opened the map in his hand and pointed out the locations he mentioned to the others.

"Did everyone remember?"

It must be said that Yi Xing adapted to his new role remarkably fast; his tone of voice had even become serious. Was this heredity? A natural born leader.

"We remembered!"

"You girls find a place to hide first. We'll be responsible for finding the Hunter cards. Don't even think about refusing me. The safer you are, the greater the chance of the entire team winning."

He saw Ju Jingyi and Ada Choi about to say something, but he gave them no chance, interrupting them mercilessly. This was a matter of life and death for the entire team; no one was allowed to act recklessly or be overly brave.

"Does anyone else have any questions?" Under Yi Xing's sharp gaze, no one dared to step forward and court trouble. He extended one hand to the center and said, "Since there are no questions, let's all cheer each other on!"

After he said this, the others all put their hands down and shouted in unison, "Go, go, go!"

After cheering each other on, they officially entered the inner city. They immediately saw the live Hunter card machine standing in the very center. On its shoulder was a machine for inserting cards. An immobile Hunter was truly rare.

"Let go of me, let me touch it."

"No, you can't go. This is being filmed, don't take advantage."

Everyone looked in the direction of the voices and saw Jia Ling grabbing her own hand with one hand, turning her head to the left to say one line, then turning to the right to say another. She truly was a veteran of variety shows; any impromptu idea was enough to become a highlight of the episode.

"Xiao Ju, please take Sister Jia Ling and find a place to hide."

"Okay." Ju Jingyi nodded in agreement, then pulled Jia Ling's arm and walked towards an indoor area. If there was a safe place, it could only be indoors.

Yi Xing's team had four girls, twice as many as Jia Nailiang's side. After the girls left, there were six boys remaining, who split into three small groups to search for Hunter cards within the city.

Ju Jingyi took Jia Ling to a house, searching for a place to hide. In the backyard, they found a large vat, big enough to fit both of them, but it needed some cover on top, otherwise, they would be discovered immediately.

She scanned her surroundings for usable items and found a basket and a straw cape in a corner. Their safety gradually became assured. She picked up one item in each hand and returned to the vat.

"Sister Ling, come quickly, you go in first."

"I don't think so. This is a bit beyond my capabilities."

"Believe in yourself, you can do it!"

"Okay!" Encouraged, Jia Ling tried very hard to lift her leg, wanting to get into the vat, but her physique didn't allow her leg to reach that height. She was close though, just needed a push from behind.

"Xiao Ju, come behind me and help me."

"Coming!"

After much effort from both, Jia Ling finally managed to get into the vat. She took the items from Ju Jingyi's hand and stood at the very edge, giving the other person enough space to maneuver.

She felt a shadow flash before her eyes, and then another person was beside her. She hadn't even seen how Ju Jingyi got in. She sighed deeply. She remembered having such skills when she was thin, but never mind, a hero doesn't boast of past glories.

After careful arrangement, the straw cape became a natural barrier, perfectly covering the vat. Even if a Hunter came, they wouldn't be able to see what was inside.
