Chapter 93: Don't call me Xiaoju anymore, just call me Jingyi.

Yi Xing’s face instantly flushed red. Even though he knew she was just saying it casually and had no other intentions, he couldn't stop his own imagination from running wild. Luckily, Ju Jingyi’s attention was entirely on breakfast, so she didn't notice his situation, giving him ample time to compose himself.

After regaining his composure, he finally spoke, “Let's go to the film crew after you finish eating. They should have already started filming by now.”

“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go now!” Ju Jingyi impatiently walked towards the hotel entrance, but he stopped her, standing in front of her and saying,

“No rush, no rush. The film crew isn’t going anywhere. Finish your breakfast first.”

Blocked, she could only speed up her eating. In a moment, she finished the two steamed buns in her hand and said to him, “Okay, I’m done eating. Can we go now?”

“Yes.”

The two went together to the film crew of “the legend of the condor heroes.” Due to the influence of fans, Ju Jingyi was still wearing a mask for this outing; she didn't want her private life to be watched.

As soon as she arrived at the set, she felt a difference. It was vastly different from the film crew she worked with for her micro-movie. There were several times more staff alone, each busy with their own tasks, not interfering with each other.

She unconsciously tugged on the corner of the person in front of her, following closely behind him. Yi Xing noticed the pull from behind but said nothing, leading her to Director Jiang’s side to greet him.

However, the Director was currently intently watching the screen on the monitor, with no time to pay attention to them. He turned around and whispered, “Wait for me here; I’ll go get two chairs.”

“I’ll go with you,” Ju Jingyi said nervously. She was afraid that if Yi Xing left, the Director would ask who she was, how she got in, if she had something to do, and a series of other questions. Moreover, this Director looked very fierce. (Director Jiang had a bald hairstyle and a beard.)

“It’s fine; I’ll be right back.”

None of her worries came true. Yi Xing quickly returned with two chairs, skillfully placed them near the monitor, and pulled her down to sit.

Director Jiang noticed someone approaching him, turned his head to look, nodded slightly, and then turned back, continuing to focus on the filming.

“He is the Director of this drama. I usually call him Director or Director Jiang. You can just call him what I call him.”

“Mm-hmm,” she softly agreed, her gaze fixed on the monitor in front of her, watching the actors’ performances. What was the difference between this and watching a drama live?

After a “Cut!” the people on the screen stopped. Director Jiang spoke, “That take was very bad. Xuwen, did you not sleep well last night? Why haven’t you been in character? If you don’t want to film, go back and rest!”

His irritable and fierce tone startled Ju Jingyi. She quietly moved her chair, hiding herself behind Yi Xing, trying to avoid being seen by the Director.

“Yi Xing, is the Director always this fierce?”

“Not really. He occasionally loses his temper. Maybe we’re just unlucky today and happened to catch him,” Yi Xing noticed her tension and comforted her in a low voice.

“I’ll give you ten minutes. Adjust quickly. All departments, take a ten-minute break,” Director Jiang said sternly with a frown, and during the break, he looked at the two people beside him.

Noticing his gaze, Ju Jingyi completely hid behind the person in front of her, quietly peeking out half her head to observe the situation. Her adorable appearance would make anyone laugh, even the Director.

“Yi Xing, is that your friend behind you?”

“Yes, her name is Ju Jingyi. She’s a bit shy, I’m sorry, Director.”

“It’s fine, it’s fine. She must have been scared by my behavior just now. I should be the one to apologize, I’m sorry.”

When Ju Jingyi heard Director Jiang say that, her face immediately turned red. She quickly emerged from behind Yi Xing, waved her hand, and said, “Director, please don’t say that. It’s my own problem. Oh, by the way, hello, I’m Ju Jingyi.”

“Hello.”

After seeing her, Director Jiang’s eyes changed. He looked at Yi Xing with a teasing gaze. He now understood why he had approached him, wanting to bring someone to the film crew. So that was it. He thought highly of the two of them; talent and beauty had materialized.

“Don’t misunderstand; we are just friends.”

“I know, just friends,” he deliberately emphasized the words “just friends.”

Yi Xing became even more embarrassed by the deliberately emphasized “friends.” His cheeks flushed, but he didn't know how to explain himself. Even if he explained, others had to believe him. If they didn’t believe him, anything he said would be useless. Forget it, let them misunderstand.

“Alright, alright, I won’t tease you anymore. Did you see the scene just now? Tell me, do you think there’s anything that can be improved?” Director Jiang asked as usual. This was a daily routine between him and Yi Xing; whenever he sat beside him, he would ask this question.

Ju Jingyi, who had inexplicably become a respondent, was a bit confused, still unsure of what had happened. No one told her she would be questioned here! How could her amateurish skills presume to comment on others? She repeated the Director's evaluation without thinking.

“What about you, Yi Xing?”

Yi Xing, who was called upon, thought for a moment and shared his opinion: “The atmosphere and emotional tone of that scene just now were correct, but Xuwen’s expression was too stiff, making it impossible for people to immerse themselves. And Li Yitong was the same; the two of them didn’t connect at all in the scene.”

“Good, sitting by my side these days wasn’t in vain. Those are pretty much all the problems.”

The break quickly ended, and Director Jiang immersed himself back into filming. After a scolding, Yang Xuwen’s condition clearly recovered, and he successfully finished this take, walking over with Li Yitong to see if there were any areas for improvement.

Ju Jingyi’s attention was completely off the screen at this moment. Instead, she was wondering who this Li Yitong that Yi Xing mentioned was. She was very curious. She was the one who met him first, and even now, she only heard “Xiao Ju,” never the address “Jingyi.”

Her curiosity was quickly answered. When she saw everyone around calling her Li Yitong, the emotion in her heart immediately dissipated. So, this wasn’t an exclusive address just for Yi Xing. Then it was fine.

She didn’t know why, but when she heard Yi Xing call someone else so intimately, a strange feeling appeared in her heart, as if something had been snatched away.

“What’s wrong? You seem to be spacing out,” Yi Xing poked her arm and asked in a low voice.

“Nothing.”

“Oh, okay. Remember to tell me if anything happens.”

“Um, you don’t have to call me Xiao Ju anymore. You can call me Jingyi.” Ju Jingyi’s face gradually turned red as she spoke.

“Okay, Jingyi.”

As soon as he said that, her face turned even redder, and she had a different kind of experience in her heart. She secretly glanced at Yi Xing and found that his face was also a bit red, though it wasn't particularly noticeable under the film crew’s lights.

No one on the entire set noticed the situation of these two, especially Director Jiang and his group. One was seriously explaining the scene, and the other two were seriously listening to the scene, occasionally offering their own opinions, with no extra energy to pay attention to their surroundings.
