Chapter 10 (3)
Navy LY Ship, “Report, Captain…”
Captain Gao Yun picked up the phone and dialed the helicopter hangar, where the assault team members belonging to the Navy were on standby.
“Report, this is Yang Rui.”
“We just received a distress call from Consul He Qingliu. They and the last batch of overseas Chinese were attacked by rebels on their way to evacuate. The Yemen Government Army is no longer able to provide rescue, but they have allowed our troops to enter the city to save people and provide transportation support at the port.”
“Yes.”
The fully armed assault team members, who were already prepared, entered the war zone in military vehicles, led by the Yemen Government Army.
This was a three-story brick-and-concrete building. “Bring the overseas Chinese upstairs, and the rest of you divide into three groups to establish defensive lines in stages, using the terrain here to block the enemy. Yangzi, your marksmanship is the best, go to the rooftop,” a guard quickly assigned tasks. “Comrade Luo Jialing, the safety of Consul He Qingliu and the others is entrusted to you.”
“Understood, I’ll leave this to you,” Luo Jialing knew that now was not the time to argue, and turned to lead the overseas Chinese upstairs to hide.
“Captain, the rebel vehicles have entered,” Yangzi, who had already run to the rooftop, said over the walkie-talkie. “Four trucks, about 50 people, all equipped with light weapons, at least 5 Type 40 rocket launchers, two vehicles mounted with machine guns, one DShK, and one twin-barreled MG3.”
“Damn it,” Captain Wu Xiaobo cursed fiercely. “Yangzi, find a way to take out the machine guns, but don’t force it. The exterior walls here can’t stop machine gun bullets at all.”
“Understood, Captain.”
“Brothers, this time the trouble is a bit big, but fortunately the Navy will come to support us soon. What we need to do is to buy as much time as possible.”
“Captain, don’t worry, we definitely won’t let those Navy guys laugh at us,” a lighthearted voice came from the walkie-talkie.
“Nonsense, those are brother units.”
“Captain, they are about to come in,” Yangzi was concealed behind the ventilation ducts on the roof.
“Two smoke grenades, let some of them in.”
“Understood.”
