Chapter 3: Nikita

America

“Amanda, do you really have to wake me up at this hour?”

“Did it fail?”

A woman's voice on the other end of the phone said, “The scene was cleaned up very well, and the body is gone. It must have been done by professionals.”

“Okay, I understand. I'll handle it,” Percy said, hanging up the phone and getting out of bed. “People nowadays, they can't even do such a small thing right.”

“How is it? Have you found out who this person is?” Xu Chuan looked at the person in the photo, who was the idiot he had accidentally killed earlier.

“No need to check. I personally entered his electronic file into the organization's system,” Berkhoff said.

“I also personally trained him,” Michael said, a little awkwardly, adding, “I think their training has been lax. They should have been able to at least fire one shot.”

“Hey, man, how many killers have you trained? It's a pity you're not in HR,” Xu Chuan said, speechless, while blocking the mineral water Michael threw at him.

“Alright, no more jokes. We still don't know if the organization's objective will be related to us,” an Asian woman with long, wavy hair said as she walked in from outside.

Xu Chuan looked at the woman who walked in and pouted, “Nikita, honestly, you should really be a model. It's much more promising than being a secret agent.”

“Shut up, you troublemaker.”

“What does it have to do with me? I just glanced at him. Would you pull out a gun just because someone looked at you?” Xu Chuan said angrily, turning to Michael, “Are all the people you train so neurotic?!”

“You never know. Someone walking around late at night with a cola, not sleeping, doesn't look normal at all,” Berkhoff quipped. Michael sat on the side and nodded in agreement.

Xu Chuan made an internationally recognized gesture to the two of them. The three people in front of him were defected agents from America. They all used to work in a department called 'The Organization', which was independent of the government. Even the Director of the CIA and the President were unaware of its existence.

“You guys,” Nikita said, a little speechless.

“Alright, alright, no more jokes.” Xu Chuan pulled out a document from his bag and threw it on the table.

After they all looked it over, he continued, “It's obvious the killer's target was this reporter. I suspect, no, I'm certain this was a private job Percy took.”

“That's right. The situation at the time really didn't fit the organization's modus operandi. There was no backup plan, no support. It was like an impromptu operation. The most ridiculous thing is that the first people to arrive at the scene were from the CIA,” Michael said, holding the photos Xu Chuan had taken.

“This is too strange. Is Percy so short on money now? How much can you earn killing a reporter, 50,000 or 100,000?” Berkhoff said, looking at the female reporter in the photo with a puzzled expression.

Xu Chuan pulled out a USB drive and tossed it to Berkhoff. “This is what I copied from this reporter's computer.” Berkhoff plugged the USB drive into the computer and displayed the files on the large screen on the wall.

“William Boson, a senior executive at Green Valley Energy Company in Yemen, responsible for mining operations, including uranium mines. This reporter suspects William Boson has been using his channels to smuggle yellowcake, so she's been investigating him. Of course, we all know that what can be smuggled is definitely not limited to yellowcake.”

“Alright, this isn't a 100,000 job anymore. It starts at 5 million, and how much depends on his mood,” Berkhoff whistled.

“This isn't right. Everyone knows the civil war in Yemen has started. Who would smuggle yellowcake to Yemen at this time? Iran?” Nikita analyzed.

“Iran's route isn't in Yemen.”

“Exactly. Smuggling a batch of anti-aircraft missiles is more profitable, less risky, and easier to sell.”

Xu Chuan tapped the table. “Alright, these things aren't the main point. If you're interested, you can continue to investigate.”

Nikita continued, “We can start by checking the source and transportation of the yellowcake. I think we can ask Koko.”

Xu Chuan said indifferently, “Okay, I'll leave it to you. Tomorrow, I'm going to Yemen.”

The other three were stunned. “What, a mission?”

“Alasad, and even Zakayev, are very likely in Yemen. They must be planning something big,” Xu Chuan said expressionlessly. “And most importantly, my aunt's family is currently in Yemen.”

Berkhoff pulled up intelligence on Yemen. “That's too bad. Do you want me to book their plane tickets?”

“No need. China will probably arrange an evacuation soon, and they should go with them.”

“Then what are you going there for?”

“Because coincidentally, my aunt also works at Green Valley Energy,” Xu Chuan said helplessly. “And it's also time to settle things with Alasad.”

The three looked at each other when they heard this. Nikita asked seriously, “Do you need help?”

“Of course. This time, I need to gather everyone. I've already sent Liu He's team to Sana'a to prepare. Once everyone here is assembled, head to Djibouti and wait for my instructions.”

“Everyone? Are you sure?”

“Uh, alright, forget about Dong Qin. She has her college entrance exam in a month. Let her focus on her studies,” Xu Chuan thought for a moment and continued, “I've been meaning to ask, Berkhoff, did you hack the Pentagon's website again?” He pointed to the large Japanese flag on the website.

“Oh, it wasn't me this time. Maybe it was the Japanese. The technique is quite clever.”

“Believe me, it's definitely not the Japanese,” Xu Chuan unscrewed the mineral water bottle and took a sip.

Berkhoff said while operating the computer, “It seems Bell is planning something big this time.”

“It seems so. With these people gathered together, it's easy to throw a small country into chaos,” Michael said, flipping through the intelligence documents on the table. “Nikita, I think we need to pay attention to Bell's mental state. His obsession with taking down Alasad might affect his judgment. I don't want to see him self-destruct.”

My lord, there's more to this chapter ^.^,

“That's right, so I won't listen to him this time. I've already sent a message to Dong Qin, asking her to come and keep an eye on Bell. As for exams, I think Dong Qin will thank me for this,” Nikita said with a smile, raising her phone. “But this guy actually wants to use all the company's funds this time. He's not trying to bankrupt the company, is he?”

“I actually have a different opinion on this matter,” Berkhoff looked up at their questioning gazes. “Before he left, he said that once this mission is complete, he can upgrade my information center, completely according to my requirements, and maybe even buy our own communication satellite. I've always trusted him in this regard.”

“Impossible. I've seen your damned upgrade plan. It requires a 50 million budget. He'd be crazy to agree,” Michael said with a look of doubt.

“Hey, man, have you forgotten the company's first business? He stole 20 million worth of goods from a Colombian drug lord, then in Mexico, he used those goods to pose as a seller and rip off other criminals, while also posing as a special police officer to combat drug trafficking. Then, in a short period, the price of drugs skyrocketed threefold. You know, that time we spent nearly 10 million dollars in costs, but in the end, we earned at least 200 million, and that was pure profit after laundering.”

“Yes, I never thought you could do it that way before. He even shorted the Mexican stock market as an afterthought. And in the end, all the drugs were dumped into the Gulf of Mexico,” Michael added, still feeling a chill.

“So, you see, since then, I will never question him when it comes to making money.”

America, Kentucky, Bob Lee Swagger was enjoying his vacation with his girlfriend, Sarah. A Labrador was circling him, “Sam, are you hungry again?” He took dog food from the cabinet and poured it into the bowl. The phone on the table suddenly vibrated a few times. Swagg picked it up and read the message, then scratched his head helplessly and turned to leave the room.

“I'm sorry, I have work. I need to leave for a while,” Swagg explained to his girlfriend while packing his things.

“I know. I can read the ballistic table to him,” Sarah said, looking at her boyfriend, holding an ultrasound photo in her hand, hesitating whether to tell him now.

At the same time, the same message spread across the world.
