Chapter 22: Regional Boss

Anyone who has played games knows that when monsters gather together, it's the best time to cast area-of-effect skills.

Wei Kai was no exception; he immediately activated his Charge skill, transforming into a blur.

The Wild Boar Charge Set’s effect: During a Charge, sprint speed is doubled, and strength bonus gained is doubled.

Ordinary Direwolves are level seven monsters, with slightly higher strength than a normal Boar.

But facing Wei Kai, who had a formidable 75 points of strength while in a Charge, they were no match!

The next moment, three Direwolves were directly sent flying.

With a howl, they transformed into three streaks of light in mid-air… and instantly died!

Seeing this, Wei Kai was also stunned for a moment.

“No way? Level seven Direwolves are that weak?”

As soon as he finished speaking, dozens of colorful lights burst forth from where the corpses had disappeared.

Various blue and white items scattered across the ground.

Upon seeing this, Wei Kai quickly picked up all the drops one by one, to avoid being seen by others.

After picking them up, he began his routine inspection.

The Direwolf drops were naturally different from the Boar drops.

The biggest difference was the absence of ingredients and recipes.

In this day and age, it seemed no one ate wolf meat.

Besides that, more equipment dropped, and several level 10 common items even appeared.

Equipment dropped by monsters is generally around five levels of their own level.

Direwolves are level seven, so the equipment dropped includes level five and level ten items.

It was a pity that these level ten pieces of equipment were all common… even the poor wouldn’t look at them.

Wei Kai didn't mind, though; he could take them back for Li Changlin to process anyway.

“Just consider it practice for him.”

As he was speaking, his gaze fell upon a book-shaped item, and he couldn't help but read out its name.

“Accessory Crafting?”

“This must be an Alchemist skill book.”

It was as if his thoughts had materialized; Li Changlin, as an Alchemist, was precisely lacking a production skill.

This skill book could perfectly fill that gap.

Simply perfect!

An Alchemist’s three main functions are Disassembly, Composition, and Crafting.

Disassembly is recycling junk equipment and refining it into materials like refined iron and refined copper.

Composition is using various materials to create gems with different attributes and types.

Crafting is using gems and other materials to create accessories, artifacts, or tools.

Previously, Li Changlin couldn't afford skill books, so he could only rely on the “Refinement” skill he received upon changing professions, spending his days picking up common equipment to refine.

Now with this “Accessory Crafting” skill book, he had an additional means of livelihood.

“Good, good, good, this book is Changlin’s.”

Wei Kai nodded with great satisfaction, then continued to look through the items.

A moment later, he discovered something new.

Direwolf Fang: A rare material, can be used to strengthen weapons, or to craft accessories.

“Good stuff.”

After reading the description of the Direwolf Fang, Wei Kai immediately beamed.

This way, he had the skill book and the materials.

High-level monsters were truly thoughtful!

The dropped items were all complete sets, giving him exactly what he wanted.

Of course… this was also related to his talent; after all, his talent was called All Item Drop.

If it were someone else, they’d be lucky to drop a single Direwolf Fang after half a day of grinding.

As for the crafting skill book… don't even think about it!

This item was even rarer than recipes.

“It seems I’ll be staying here today.”

Wei Kai smiled slightly, looking at the dim forest as if it were his own gold mine.

Grinding here for a day would not only level him up but also provide a large amount of materials.

It was much more efficient than grinding Boars outside.

“Grrr!”

As he was thinking, his stomach suddenly rumbled in protest.

Wei Kai was startled, then took out his phone and glanced at it, only to realize it was already twelve o’clock.

“It’s noon already? I feel like I haven’t even grinded that much.”

Wei Kai couldn’t help but scratch his head.

He had come out at 6:30 in the morning, and unexpectedly, more than five hours had passed so quickly.

It seemed that grinding Elite Boars earlier had indeed taken up a lot of time.

However, he was a bit hungry now, so he should fill his stomach first.

Fortunately, he had learned the “Bonfire” skill this morning, allowing him to roast meat in the wild.

Although it couldn’t increase his attributes like Roasted Meat made by a chef, it was more than enough to fill his stomach.

Without further ado, Wei Kai quickly found some dry branches and then lit a bonfire.

He still had plenty of pork in his backpack; he could just take it out, skewer it, and roast it.

A moment later, a fragrant skewer of Roasted Meat was fresh out, and Wei Kai couldn't help but swallow.

So he immediately began to feast.

After finishing one skewer, he still felt it wasn’t enough, so he quickly roasted two more.

The second skewer had just finished cooking, and he was about to eat it, when a strange gust of wind suddenly swept through the vicinity.

The wind carried a faint, musky odor.

After his spirit had improved, Wei Kai’s perception of his surroundings had also significantly increased.

When the wind picked up, he felt a hint of danger.

That musky odor made his internal alarm bells ring even louder… Danger!

He didn't even have time to stand up and just rolled to the side.

The next moment, a huge figure lunged forward, but… it missed.

The sound of the massive creature landing made Wei Kai’s heart pound.

When he stood up again, he realized that what had ambushed him… was a ferocious tiger!

“A level twelve tiger?”

In Wild Boar Forest, the highest level for ordinary monsters was level twelve, which was the tiger.

Wei Kai hadn’t expected that eating Roasted Meat would attract a tiger.

And he was almost ambushed by it.

It couldn’t be more “lucky”!

“No!”

As he was thinking, Wei Kai suddenly noticed something amiss… A normal tiger’s colors didn’t seem so simple, did they?

Normal tigers are usually a mix of black, white, and yellow.

But this one… seemed to be only black and white.

“This… could it be the Wild Boar Forest’s top regional boss, the White Tiger?”

Wei Kai almost went weak in the knees.

A normal tiger is level twelve, an Elite Tiger is level fifteen… and the regional boss White Tiger is level twenty-five!

A full nineteen-level difference!

Let alone just one person, even if a whole group of newbies came, they would probably be wiped out here.

This was an existence that newbies simply couldn’t afford to provoke.

“Damn it, no way?”

“Am I going to die young and leave my bones here?”

“The former emperor started his great enterprise, but halfway through, he collapsed…”

Various scenarios flashed through Wei Kai’s mind, and he stood frozen on the spot, with no thought of escaping.

The reason was simple… he couldn’t escape!

As a regional boss, the White Tiger not only had a high level but also possessed a unique set of skills.

One of them was called: Fear.

Feared enemies would stand still, trembling, becoming lambs to the slaughter.

Wei Kai was in this exact state at that moment!
