Chapter 5: A group of fierce new mercenaries!

Allen stared intently at the bullet hole in the black enemy soldier's forehead, its precision sending shivers down his spine.

He swallowed nervously.

This marksmanship... even among the most elite units of a powerful nation, it would absolutely be considered top-tier.

But the young man in front of him, judging by his face, was at most in his early twenties, with delicate skin, looking every bit like a college student who had never left school.

Allen himself had retired from an elite unit of the regular army; after all these years, he was merely doing transport escort work in a small mercenary group like this, barely making ends meet.

A strange feeling suddenly surged within him—was it envy, or jealousy? Or perhaps, he just found this world too damn fantastical.

"Hey, buddy."

Wang Yu's voice pulled him back from his wild thoughts.

"What are you spacing out for? What do we do next? I don't have much experience."

Wang Yu looked at him with a serious expression, his eyes clear, completely unlike a god of slaughter who had just blown someone's head off with a single shot.

Allen instantly breathed a sigh of relief.

Right, this is how a newbie should act.

He cleared his throat, wanting to regain some old soldier's dignity in front of the new recruit, and patted Wang Yu's shoulder with a feigned air of profundity.

"Don't panic, kid. You Yan Country folks have an old saying, what was it... oh, right, 'To catch the bandits, first catch their king!'"

Allen spoke with conviction, then his tone suddenly shifted, and he deflated, muttering softly, "But the enemy's firepower is too strong. I think... maybe we should retreat first? Life is precious."

"Retreat your motherf***ing retreat!"

A coarse voice boomed behind them.

The leader of the Chi Yun Mercenary Group, the burly man named William, strode over, his large, fan-like hand pushing Allen aside, spit almost spraying onto his face.

"Allen! Are you a goddamn coward? There are no cowards in my Chi Yun Mercenary Group!"

William, his eyes bloodshot, pointed at the rebel position ahead and roared, "Everyone, push forward! Kill all these bastards! Today, either they die, or we perish!"

Wang Yu's eyes lit up at the words.

Retreat?

What about the mission reward if they retreated? Wouldn't this trip be for nothing?

He immediately stood beside William, raised his gun, and said without hesitation, "That's more like it, let's just do it!"

William looked at him in surprise, then grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth, "Good kid, you've got guts!"

With that, he waved his large hand.

"Attack!"

The remaining dozen or so mercenaries, following William and Wang Yu, charged out like a group of desperadoes.

During the charge, William truly witnessed Wang Yu's abnormal abilities.

This kid wasn't fighting a war at all!

He was like he was playing a holographic shooting game!

He would simply raise his gun, pause briefly in one direction while running at high speed.

"Bang!"

A shot rang out.

He didn't even check if the bullet hit the target; his muzzle was already aimed in the next direction.

"Bang!"

Another shot.

In just a few breaths, two rebels who had just poked their heads out fell straight down like broken puppets.

William's eye twitched uncontrollably.

What kind of monster was this?

His marksmanship was even getting stronger! From precise at the beginning, to now completely unrestrained, as if the rebels' heads were actively rushing towards his bullets!

And at this moment, Wang Yu's eyes were slightly red.

He wasn't excited by the killing, but by extreme focus.

Only two words remained in his mind.

Mission.

Reward.

At the same time, the rebel leader also noticed that something was wrong.

The rate of casualties in his team was too fast!

Especially that Asian kid charging at the very front, his marksmanship was simply uncanny!

At first, he could still organize his men to suppress the firepower, thinking that although the opponent had good aim, they were ultimately flesh and blood and could be dealt with.

But now, he only felt a deep sense of powerlessness.

The opponent's shooting was no longer a technical problem; it was an overwhelming force that instilled despair.

On this open Gobi desert, with no complex cover, both sides were almost head-to-head.

He had originally thought that with more men on his side, they could wear down the enemy.

Who would have thought that among the opponent's twenty-five-man squad, there was such a freak!

Damn it, if he had known, he should have disregarded casualties from the start and used a human wave tactic to drown them!

"Boss! We can't do this anymore! Let's retreat!"

The rebel second-in-command couldn't withstand the pressure; he suddenly stood up from behind cover and shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Quick, retreat..."

His words were cut short.

"Bang!"

A bullet accurately pierced his forehead.

The sound stopped abruptly.

The entire battlefield seemed to fall silent for a moment because of that shot.

All the rebels saw their second-in-command fall backward, the bullet hole in his forehead like a mocking mark.

The rebel leader's psychological defenses completely collapsed.

He scrambled and crawled behind a rock, his voice changing pitch as he shrieked, "Seven hundred thousand! US dollars! Whoever protects me out of here, I'll give him seven hundred thousand!"

Under a heavy reward, there are always brave men.

Those rebels who had already thought of retreating and were about to scatter and flee, their eyes instantly turned red when they heard that number.

They were like hyenas that had smelled blood, gathering frantically towards the leader's position, surrounding him and forming a human shield.

"Holy shit..."

Allen and William watched from a distance, dumbfounded.

You can play like that?

William turned to look at Wang Yu, his gaze like he was looking at a demon in human skin.

"Brother, you... you..."

He stammered "you" for a long time, unable to form a complete sentence.

Wang Yu, however, paid them no mind.

His gaze had already locked onto the group of rebels using their bodies to shield the leader and attempt to escape.

Human shield?

In his eyes, they were just a bunch of moving points.

He didn't hesitate and pulled the trigger again.

"Bang!"

A bullet whistled out, accurately piercing the back of a rebel's heart.

Hot blood instantly splattered out, covering the rebel leader's face.
