“Void Pirates?” Zoro picked his ear, a look of impatience on his face. “Never heard of them. Don’t bother with your names, nobodies. I won’t remember.”
These words, like the most vicious mockery, instantly ignited the fury of all the pirates.
“Bastard! Our captain is a Paramecia ‘Spatial Door Fruit’ user!” a minion yelled, feigning bravery. “We were defeated by the alliance of Beast Kaido and Big Mom! No, we were ambushed by that damn Kid! As long as we get your head, we can use your bounty to rise again!”
“Oh, so you’re defeated soldiers,” Zoro’s tone grew even more contemptuous. “Since you’re so eager to die, I’ll grant your wish.”
He slowly drew the wado ichimonji from his waist. The snow-white scabbard and hilt gleamed with a sacred light under the moonlight, yet they sent a chilling sensation from the souls of the pirates opposite him.
“Kill him!”
At their captain’s command, a dozen pirates roared and charged from all directions. They coordinated seamlessly, their blades flashing and interweaving into a net of death, clearly seasoned in battle.
However, in the face of absolute power, all techniques were futile.
Zoro moved.
His figure was like a green lightning bolt, instantly vanishing from his original spot. The next second, he appeared behind a pirate, not even using the blade, but merely using the heavy scabbard to precisely strike the back of his neck. The pirate didn’t even have time to scream before his eyes rolled back, and he fell unconscious.
“Too slow.”
He moved like an elegant dancer, strolling leisurely through the gaps in the flashing blades. Every sidestep perfectly avoided a fatal slash; every step he took placed him in the most unexpected position for his enemies. His Observation Haki had long since predicted everyone’s movements with perfect clarity.
“Clang!”
A pirate’s sword struck heavily on his shoulder, but it produced a metallic clang, with sparks flying. The pirate was horrified to find his blade bent, while the opponent’s shoulder didn’t even have a white mark. Armament Haki had long since transformed into his most solid armor.
“Your strength is also lacking.”
Zoro backhanded with the hilt of his sword, smashing it hard into the man’s face, taking down another one.
The entire process, rather than a battle, was more like a one-sided abuse. Zoro didn’t even draw his second sword; merely using basic movement and blocking, he utterly routed the so-called “Void Pirates,” sending them sprawling.
In less than a minute, only the ability-user captain remained standing in the clearing. His forehead was covered in cold sweat, and his body trembled violently from fear. His proud subordinates now lay scattered on the ground, their fates unknown.
“Mon…monster…” he stammered incoherently.
“It’s over.” Zoro slowly sheathed the wado ichimonji and walked towards the last enemy, his eyes devoid of emotion. “You ruined my mood for finding sake, so you’ll pay with your life.”
The shadow of death instantly enveloped the captain. Under extreme fear, his sanity was replaced by madness.
“You forced my hand, Roronoa!” He let out a desperate shriek, clapping his hands together. From his palms, a strange, deep purple light suddenly burst forth!
The captain laughed maniacally, his laughter filled with despair and the pleasure of revenge: “This is the ultimate power of the ‘Spatial Door Fruit’! I might not be able to kill you, but I can banish you to an endless chaotic dimension! There, your body and soul will be torn to shreds! Farewell, future World’s Greatest Swordsman!”
