Chapter 12: Game Instance: Magic Farm (10)

The second floor of the shop had a layout similar to the first floor, the only difference being that the shelves on the first floor were openly displayed, allowing all goods to be seen at a glance.

The shelves on the second floor, however, were made up of uniquely shaped compartments, and the containers for storing goods were also crafted from various materials that clearly looked valuable.

"Please, have a seat."

Wen Xiangjie sat on a soft sofa, and Arabella personally walked to one of the compartments, took out the container storing the goods, and brought it to the table in front of Wen Xiangjie.

She murmured a few incantations towards the container, and several moonlight vines entwining it slowly moved away.

Arabella gently opened the seal of the container, and a dazzling green light suddenly burst forth from within, instantly enveloping the entire second floor in layers of active natural elements.

"These are the hidden goods of our shop," Arabella said with a smile, taking out two items from inside.

One was a root as smooth as if cast from moonlight, with three emerald-like leaves hanging from its end; the other was a drop of water contained in a crystal-like bottle, shimmering with a faint emerald glow and interspersed with star-like silver specks.

"The one on the left is a section of the elf mother tree root. Burying it in a Land Containing Natural Magic Energy can activate the energy in the soil, evolving it into Elf Forest Soil, which allows plants to grow a hundredfold. One section of the root costs 100 million gold coins. Of course, your land must entirely consist of Land Containing Natural Magic Energy to use it."

"The one on the right is Natural Water, which can be used to water the elf mother tree root, causing it to sprout. If you upgrade all the land in your Magic Farm to Elf Forest Soil, then after these roots entwine together, and you drop a single drop of Natural Water on them, your Magic Farm can grow a clone version of the Elf Mother Tree. It can also birth elves, and this single drop of Natural Water is worth 1 billion gold coins."

It can birth elves!

Even without Arabella explaining the elves' function, Wen Xiangjie knew that these elves must be a powerful weapon against evil creatures, and even evil creature bosses!

As expected of the hidden shop's treasures, she had to acquire both of these!

"It seems I still need to work hard at farming to save money," Wen Xiangjie sighed.

Although her savings amounted to over 200 million gold coins, which seemed like a lot, it was actually not much when it came to spending.

Arabella replied with a smile, "I believe that with your ability, the next time we meet, you will definitely be able to take them all home."

She put the two items back into the container and returned it to the shelf.

Watching Arabella put the items away, Wen Xiangjie touched the bracelet on her left wrist.

Land that can make crops grow a hundredfold would naturally yield higher returns the sooner it was used.

"Let's go, customer, checkout is on the first floor." After putting the container away, Arabella led Wen Xiangjie back to the first floor.

Arabella walked behind the counter, took out a machine, and started typing something. Wen Xiangjie picked up a Magic Contract placed on the counter, and as her hand touched the contract, its information appeared.

"Grand Magister Summoning Contract: Summoning target Grand Magister Saka, defeated by Witch Arabella at *&% and willingly signed..."

Defeated by her? Willingly signed?

Wen Xiangjie picked up another Magic Contract with interest.

"Great Swordsman Summoning Contract: Summoning target Great Swordsman Simon, defeated by Witch Arabella at ¥%& and willingly signed..."

Goodness, these weren't just Magic Contracts; they were clearly magical indentured servitude contracts!

That thick stack of Magic Contracts on the shelf was practically a bloody history record of mages and swordsmen being beaten.

"So this is how these Magic Contracts came to be," Wen Xiangjie said, looking at Arabella with admiration, "You are truly too..."

Arabella didn't look up.

She had heard too many compliments about her powerful strength; it was uninteresting.

...too good at business!"

Arabella's eyes immediately lit up.

She couldn't help but stop what she was doing, looking at Wen Xiangjie with eager eyes, subtly urging her on.

Praise her more on this; she loved to hear it!

Although she was a powerful Witch, her dream was to become the greatest merchant!

"The greatest merchant should be able to trade anything. Most people, after defeating a mage or swordsman, wouldn't think of further exploiting their value. Only the most excellent business mind can consider such things," Wen Xiangjie said, giving Arabella a sincere thumbs-up.

Arabella's lips couldn't help but curl upwards wildly, yet she still feigned modesty, saying, "Ahem, it's not bad, for me, it's just basic operation."

"I have a question, do you only sell these items in the Magic Farm year-round?" Wen Xiangjie suddenly changed the subject and asked curiously.

"Yes, these are all items I've carefully selected, each one is super practical, who wouldn't want to buy them?" Arabella said proudly.

"These items are indeed very useful, but unfortunately, they might be too expensive for some people. Not everyone is willing to spend money on them," Wen Xiangjie shook her head.

Arabella's expression also became somewhat dejected.

The greatest merchant should be able to sell goods to every player in the dungeon, but she couldn't do that now.

In truth, she barely made any profit on these goods; lowering the price further would result in selling at a loss, and a merchant absolutely cannot sell things at a loss. Therefore, how to sell her goods to every player was indeed something she had always been troubled by.

Thinking of Wen Xiangjie's praise just now, and then thinking of Wen Xiangjie's mysteriousness, Arabella couldn't help but ask Wen Xiangjie, "Do you have any suggestions?"

"Have you considered increasing the variety of goods?" Wen Xiangjie asked in return.

"I've considered it long ago, but in my inventory, these are all the goods applicable to the Magic Farm." Arabella sighed helplessly, "Where can I find something that is both cheap and suitable for the Magic Farm to sell?"

"Some things sell well no matter which dungeon they're in," Wen Xiangjie said with a smile.

Arabella immediately perked up.

She didn't just sell things in the Magic Farm dungeon; hearing Wen Xiangjie say this, how could she not be excited?

"The four most basic necessities of human life are clothing, food, shelter, and transportation, especially food. Which human can live without eating?"

She had expected Wen Xiangjie to suggest something innovative, but when she heard Wen Xiangjie mention food, Arabella pouted, "I know humans will die without eating, but doesn't the Magic Farm provide food? What do I have to sell then?"

"The food provided by the Magic Farm, do you even call that food?" Wen Xiangjie excitedly slammed the counter, "Even evil creatures won't eat it if you throw it to them!"

"Is it that unpalatable?" Arabella truly didn't know the food in the Magic Farm was so bad; no player had ever complained to her about it before.

"Is it difficult for you to get some delicious food?" Wen Xiangjie asked.

"Not difficult," Arabella shook her head without hesitation. Not only was it not difficult, but getting food for her almost cost nothing.

"Then do you think 100 gold coins is a lot for us?"

"Not much," Arabella thought about her previous transactions with players and replied.

"For just 100 gold coins, you can get a delicious meal, and the more gold coins you spend, the more luxurious the deliciousness you can enjoy. Who among those who eat the food provided by the Magic Farm every day could refuse? After eating one meal, wouldn't they want to keep eating?" Wen Xiangjie's tone was highly persuasive.

"And you are the only one in the entire dungeon who can provide delicious food. Tell me, what kind of business is the most profitable? That's right, a monopoly business!"

"If you earn 100 gold coins per meal from one player, 10 players would be 1000 gold coins, what about 100 players, 10,000 players? How many gold coins would three meals a day be? If you don't make this fortune, who will? Right!"

"Listen and applaud!"

"Clap clap clap!" Arabella felt as if a magical yet inexplicably passionate music was ringing in her ears, and she couldn't help but clap frantically to the rhythm of the music.

Her thoughts were completely led by Wen Xiangjie; the more she listened, the brighter her eyes became, and her gaze towards Wen Xiangjie was filled with admiration.
