Chapter 252: Establish authority

Zhang Zhen’s mind was in turmoil.

If he had just badmouthed Fang Xin, making him suffer a bit, there wouldn't have been any serious consequences; at most, the higher-ups would have called him in for a scolding.

But if Fang Xin died because of it, he couldn't bear that responsibility; he wasn't looking for trouble.

Zhang Zhen didn't say a word. “You three, immediately send me reinforcements! Hurry over to Fang Xin’s location!”

“Damn it!” Zhang Zhen cursed, grumbling, “What the hell, everything was fine just now, why did they suddenly start fighting?!”

While cursing, an inexplicable panic arose in Zhang Zhen’s heart. Fang Xin was facing a Level 9 Warrior, and in addition, there were two Level 8 Warriors. Even he, a Level 9 Warrior, would find it very difficult.

Fang Xin being a Level 8 Warrior in the Ninth Division was no longer news, but he was, after all, a Strength-based Mangfu. Let alone facing a Level 9 Warrior, even a Level 8 Warrior with a longer reach could kite a short-ranged Strength-based Mangfu to death.

Zhang Zhen rushed towards Fang Xin’s location at top speed, silently praying that Fang Xin wouldn't die.

At this moment, Fang Xin held the Panlong Spear, a smile on his face as he watched the charging enemies.

He raised his other hand, fingers spread, and several ferocious beasts were released by Fang Xin, along with three Tiger Guard Soul Generals.

Everyone was enveloped by the beast hide cloak, which was pitch black inside. Those outside couldn't see in, and those inside were in darkness.

Behind Fang Xin, a blood-red ring opened, and Situ Shenshu sat within it.

This handsome monk was practically a walking cheat code; as soon as he appeared, the opponents' realms all dropped by one level.

Among the enemies, the burly man with the gaudy tattoos on his face suddenly changed expression. Beneath his beast hide robe, he could clearly see the figures inside, and upon seeing Fang Xin’s appearance, it was too late to dodge.

The Mangfu in front of him had already hurled the Panlong Spear in his hand with a savage and wild posture, its explosive power directly tearing through space, ignoring distance, and arriving before the enemy.

The Crescent Moon Scimitar in the opponent’s hand quickly blocked in front of his chest.

With a clang, the man staggered backward, the tattoos on his body glowing crimson. In his eyes, a crazed bestiality, not belonging to humans, surged.

The Crescent Moon Scimitar in his hands crossed, clicking together to form a full moon, which spun rapidly between his hands. As it spun, light and shadow overlapped, making onlookers dizzy and giving them splitting headaches. It was as if countless invisible blades were tearing at their brains, as layers of crescent moon light and shadow enveloped Fang Xin.

The next second, Fang Xin’s figure vanished from his spot.

A tumultuous wave surged in that man’s heart. As his hairs stood on end, he quickly turned around, and the Crescent Moon Scimitar in his hand spun behind him faster than he could, attempting to shield his body.

But it was too late; the Strength-based Mangfu was already behind him. His aura enveloped him like dragon scales, wrapping his entire body, and his fists, adorned with phantom dragon claws, clenched into two fists the size of sandbags, striking with booming dragon roars.

Clanging sounds were incessant. At close range, it was the absolute domain of the Strength-based Mangfu. His fists struck so densely it was airtight, and black smoke and fire enveloped his fists. This black smoke and fire was Fang Xin’s mutated light energy, capable of scorching mental power.

With both physical and magical attacks, the man couldn't withstand it at all. The Crescent Moon Scimitar blocking in front of him was struck, emitting a teeth-grinding sound. This feeling was like having a basin on one’s head, with someone constantly striking it from the outside. The pain was only one aspect; the secondary damage from the sound waves was by no means low.

In a mere ten-odd seconds, the Strength-based Mangfu in front of him had already thrown hundreds of punches, his fists striking so rapidly that only endless afterimages remained. The man was being pummeled into unconsciousness.

Coupled with the covert efforts of the two Treasure Hunting Boys, the man had already lost control of his spiritual artifact. The Crescent Moon Scimitar dimmed and fell to the ground, leaving his physical body exposed to the Mangfu’s fists. Hundreds of dense punches, like a torrential storm on banana leaves, landed squarely on him with a crackling sound.

On his strong and burly body, the tattoos gradually faded. A living person was literally pounded into a soft-bodied creature in a matter of seconds, lying on the ground, constantly bubbling blood from his mouth, and with his mouth agape, he soon died completely.

Fang Xin stomped his foot, and the ground vibrated. The Panlong Spear, stuck in the ground, bounced up. With a twist of his waist, the Panlong Spear flew out again, directly blowing the head off a Level 8 Warrior enemy on the spot. The Panlong Spear, its momentum undiminished, continued to fly backward through the enemy's head, piercing through three or four more people.

Several Soul Generals and several ferocious beasts went on a killing spree. Seeing their master slaughtering all around, their morale soared even higher, and they wiped out the enemies clean.

Fang Xin looked at the beast hide cloak still suspended above, and with a casual wave, the two Treasure Hunting Boys immediately flew up and clung to it. Before long, the beast hide cloak became Fang Xin’s property.

He recalled the Soul Generals and put the beast hide cloak into his bag.

Light streamed in once more.

Bai Yulin and the others stood back to back; some were already wounded. In the darkness just now, facing the enemy’s numerical superiority and overwhelming combat power, they had already prepared for how they would reincarnate.

Amidst the shouts of battle, a cacophony of noises was incessant, as if reinforcements had arrived, and during it, the low growls of wild beasts could also be heard.

By the time daylight broke, the battle was over, and many corpses lay strewn across the ground.

Looking at Fang Xin again, during his earlier actions, his fists and arms were already stained with much blood, and his body was also splattered with blood.

Standing there now, he exuded a terrifying aura.

It made the entire squad feel their hairs stand on end. The feeling was very strange, as if their power over life and death was in Fang Xin’s hands, and it seemed that in just a blink of an eye, Fang Xin could take their lives.

There were no other reinforcements here, just Fang Xin alone. Recalling the sounds from earlier, it seemed Fang Xin had acted, and everyone knew that Fang Xin indeed possessed the Beast Taming Talent. Thus, it appeared that Fang Xin had turned the tide of the battle by himself, and they couldn't help but develop sincere respect for this year's top person of the Ninth Division, the successor to Bai Mao Zai, and the undisputed number one on the Dragon-Tiger Rankings.

People always admire strength, and even these talented members were no exception. In the face of absolute power, they would still genuinely feel admiration.

Fang Xin smiled brightly at the group, which finally dispelled the fear in their hearts.

“Treat the wounded!”

Just as he spoke.

Zhang Zhen and several others hurried towards them.

Zhang Zhen, running at the very front, was pale-faced, his legs moving so fast he wished he could fly. He had countless times imagined what he would do if he arrived to find a ground full of corpses and Fang Xin dismembered.

As he got closer, the smell of blood permeated the air.

Fang Xin was covered in many bloodstains, making him look somewhat terrifying.

He turned his head and glanced indifferently at Zhang Zhen.

Zhang Zhen couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine, as if he had been targeted by an ancient ferocious beast. His body involuntarily stiffened, and his legs felt like they were filled with lead, making it difficult to move an inch. His mouth opened and closed uncontrollably, but for a long time, he couldn't utter a single word.

Fang Xin looked at Zhang Zhen with cold eyes. He had anticipated Zhang Zhen would try some tricks earlier, and the reason he still called Zhang Zhen for support was to give Zhang Zhen a legitimate charge after he played his tricks.

Now that the fight was over, Zhang Zhen’s belated arrival would give him a charge of dereliction of duty and delaying a military opportunity, which was reasonable, legal, and compliant.

Seeing Zhang Zhen arrive now, Fang Xin couldn't help but sneer inwardly. You tried to intimidate me before; now it’s my turn to set the rules for you.

The Panlong Spear in his hand suddenly flew out.

It directly pierced Zhang Zhen’s shoulder. The immense force carried Zhang Zhen flying backward, and with a crash, he slammed into and collapsed the wall behind him. Zhang Zhen struggled to sit up from a pile of broken bricks, only to see Fang Xin already standing before him in the dust.

Fang Xin pulled out the Panlong Spear, placed one foot on Zhang Zhen’s chest, and looked down at him from above, tapping Zhang Zhen’s cheek with the Panlong Spear as he said coldly.
