Fang Xin looked at the caller ID.
It was Tang Shuang from Beast Taming Lodge.
Fang Xin's evaluation of this Judicator Number Twelve was simple: a seemingly cold and aloof beauty who was actually a hothouse flower with an underdeveloped mind.
Fang Xin answered the phone, "What's up?"
"Fang Xin, do you have time recently?"
Fang Xin replied crisply, "Get to the point!"
After a slight hesitation, Tang Shuang asked, "Can you control the King of Slaughter now?"
Fang Xin immediately turned his phone's volume to the lowest setting, feeling a wave of helplessness. These hothouse flowers truly had no sense of caution whatsoever.
"Do you have any way to help me control him?" Fang Xin inquired.
"No, Fang Xin, I have two friends here who want to meet you. They have information about the Elf King!"
Fang Xin raised an eyebrow. Information about the Elf King?
"What information?"
There was a few seconds of silence from Tang Shuang's end, as if she was speaking to someone on the other line.
After a few seconds, Tang Shuang continued, "I have two envoys from the Elf Clan here. They said they want to meet you!"
Fang Xin was momentarily stunned.
From the Elf Clan?
However, considering that Tang Shuang, Judicator Number Twelve, corresponded precisely to the Elf King, it wasn't surprising that she had a connection with the Elf Clan.
But why were they looking for him?
Could it be because the King of Slaughter had previously given orders to the Elf Clan, and now the Elf Clan had sent people to find him in advance?
But this possibility felt slim. After all, what the King of Slaughter had originally said was that someone would naturally go to the Elf Clan when the time came. So why would people from the Elf Clan come to find him in advance?
Fang Xin clicked his tongue.
Tang Shuang, with her pretty head that only served to look good, seemed to have no other purpose.
"Fang Xin? Hello? Can you hear me, Fang Xin?" Tang Shuang asked.
Fang Xin hummed in response, "What do they want with me?"
A man's voice came from the other end of the phone, "Respected Zero Arbiter! My name is Da Er, an envoy from the Elf Clan. I have come to you to offer you a heaven-sent opportunity! This matter will only benefit you, with no drawbacks! May I ask when you are available so we can meet and discuss it in detail!"
Fang Xin raised an eyebrow. A heaven-sent opportunity? What nonsense, what a joke?
There weren't that many free lunches falling from the sky. He heard that this kind of trick had been around for hundreds of years. Some people went for the free lunch, but didn't get the lunch; instead, they lost their two big kidneys.
Fang Xin was a Strength-based Mangfu, and his two big kidneys were much more valuable than those of scrawny dogs.
For someone he didn't know to immediately offer a great opportunity, Fang Xin had to be wary. Fang Xin put himself in the other party's shoes and pondered their true purpose for coming here.
If he were from the Elf Clan, under what circumstances would he send someone through the dark and dangerous Land of Eternal Night to find the Zero Arbiter?
He recalled how the King of Slaughter had previously, in a domineering manner, informed the entire Elf Clan that the first person the Elf King would see upon awakening had already been designated by the King of Slaughter.
If he were from the Elf Clan, he would definitely be a bit displeased. Who would want someone to come over and say that after your ancestor wakes up, he can only work for me? They would definitely have to argue it out properly and think of other methods.
The one who could judge the King of Slaughter was the Zero Arbiter. If they found the Zero Arbiter, controlled the Zero Arbiter, or even directly took away the Zero Arbiter's qualification, then if the King of Slaughter still wanted to act domineeringly, the Elf Clan, having the Zero Arbiter, would certainly not fear the King of Slaughter.
Thinking back to earlier, when Tang Shuang answered the phone, she also asked if Fang Xin had control over the King of Slaughter. It was clear she wanted to know if Fang Xin had made contact with the King of Slaughter, fearing that their little schemes would be known by the King of Slaughter, leading him to slaughter the entire Elf Clan.
Fang Xin leaned back. These were all just his conjectures; the specifics could only be known after meeting in person.
In any case, Fang Xin still planned to meet them. His identity as the Zero Arbiter could not be exposed for now. He had to first see what the two Elf Clan members were planning. If it truly matched his suspicions, Fang Xin would immediately throw them into the Asura Tower. There were no Elf Clan zombies in the Asura Tower yet.
Besides that, he also had to have a good talk with Tang Shuang, that hothouse flower whose brain was less than one percent developed, and tell her to use her brain more, not just let it grow without using it.
Fang Xin smiled at the Elf Clan member named Da Er, "May I ask what this opportunity is?"
"Respected Zero Arbiter, please consider this a surprise from us. Rest assured, this gift will absolutely make you so excited you won't be able to sleep!"
Fang Xin felt like the other party was just short of saying, 'I'm going to harvest your kidneys.' "Then I'll set the time and place. I just started a new job recently, so I'm very busy!"
"Alright!" The other party readily accepted upon hearing this, then eagerly added, "Mr. Fang, right? Let's make it as soon as possible!"
"I'll arrange a time and send the time and place to Tang Shuang. Do you have a place to stay recently?"
"Thank you for your concern, Mr. Fang. We are currently staying at the Beast Taming Lodge!"
Fang Xin hummed in acknowledgment, exchanged a few simple pleasantries, and then hung up the phone.
He looked at his recent schedule and decided to arrange the meeting time relatively soon, giving the other party the impression that he was very cunning but all his cunning was written on his face, so that the other party would think Fang Xin was also eager to go and see what the surprise was.
Then he found an address.
After thinking for a moment, Fang Xin sent a message to Tang Shuang, fabricating, "I want to give those two Elf Clan members a gift to build a better relationship. What are their combat strengths? I'll find suitable gifts for them!"
Tang Shuang's brain was practically brand new; she didn't think much of it and replied to Fang Xin, "Two of them came. One has an eleven-level combat strength, and the other has a twelve-level combat strength."
Fang Xin raised an eyebrow.
Holy crap!
It seemed the Elf Clan members who came were not ordinary individuals; they were likely two elders from the Elf Clan Elder Council.
Given that they could send people of this caliber, there must be something significant going on. Fang Xin had to show them enough sincerity.
However, with his current strength, even if he summoned the King of Slaughter, beating an eleven-level combatant wasn't a problem, but killing a twelve-level combatant would still be a bit difficult. It seemed he needed to find reinforcements.
If he were to find reinforcements, it would have to be someone who wasn't too curious about his identity, or even someone on the same side.
After much deliberation, Fang Xin thought of someone.
He immediately sent a message to him.
"Are you there?"
