Chapter 91: The shadow of an old friend

Huang Dabao stood on tiptoes, looking in the direction of the exit.

Suddenly, a hand clapped his shoulder. Huang Dabao turned around and found that Fang Xin had appeared behind him at some point.

“Cult Master? When did you come out?”

“I took the special passage! Where are the people I told you to bring?”

Huang Dabao immediately pointed in a direction, eagerly, “Over there! I’ll take you!”

Because he had been an anomaly for many years, Huang Dabao was very cautious in his actions.

Huang Dabao had arranged for all the newly recruited members to stay in several small hotels separately.

After meeting up, Fang Xin roughly observed them. These people were all below Level 3 combat power. Having seen many geniuses in the Ninth Division, Fang Xin felt a little pained to see so many people with such low combat power. Fortunately, these people now had Slaughter Talent, and in the future, they only needed to kill and devour to grow stronger.

He told these people the precautions for Slaughter Talent, and then bestowed Slaughter Talent upon them one by one.

When someone with ill intentions self-detonated and died, serving as an example to the others, the remaining people didn't dare to breathe heavily, and their eyes were filled with reverence as they looked at Fang Xin.

After everything was finished, Huang Dabao called out to everyone, “Why aren’t you bowing to the Cult Master!”

Everyone bowed in greeting, and one tattooed youth raised his hand and shouted a slogan, “Seven Kill Divine Cult, invincible in battle! The Holy Cult Master, accomplished in both civil and martial arts, will unify the world for thousands of generations!”

Fang Xin was amused. He sized up the tattooed youth, “What’s your name!”

The tattooed youth immediately said, “Reporting to the Cult Master, my name is A Dao!”

Fang Xin made a mental note of A Dao, planning to observe him for a period. If he proved capable, he would be promoted and given a raise.

He and Huang Dabao then arranged the subsequent procedures. For now, they would still take a cautious approach, starting by “farming” and only showing their prowess once they had developed sufficiently.

He checked the time, and decided to go to the place Tiger Guard Mo had mentioned before he came, to summon Tiger Guard Ali and bring her under his command.

With the God and Demon Ruins approaching, recruiting one more Tiger Guard would give him an extra chance of winning.

After completing the task along the way, Fang Xin arrived at Chuwang Ferry.

The breeze ruffled the water, and reeds taller than a person swayed in the wind, making rustling sounds. The ancient ferry crossing was deserted, desolate and bleak. The wind chimes hanging from the eaves of the dilapidated wooden house beside the ferry made a tinkling sound, as if singing a corner of time that had been mercilessly crushed by the wheels of history.

Tiger Guard Mo floated beside Chuwang Ferry, his eyes filled with sorrow, muttering, “The Chu River remains, but the old friend is gone. The Marshal Taishuxiong often recited, ‘I know not where the human face has gone, but the peach blossoms still smile in the spring breeze.’ So this is what it means.”

Fang Xin raised his hand, and the blood ring formed by runes in his palm enlarged and flew out.

Suspended in mid-air, Fang Xin raised his hand and pressed it into the blood ring.

“In my name of Slaughter! I command all ghosts and gods from all directions to appear!”

Time passed by minute by minute.

Suddenly.

A fierce wind rose.

The reeds bent low from the wind.

A hand intertwined with Fang Xin’s hand.

Fang Xin clearly felt it was a woman’s hand.

“Who is summoning me?” It was a woman’s voice, clear and very pleasant to the ear.

Fang Xin gently pulled her into his arms.

He saw a blonde woman being pulled out from within.

The woman was tall, wearing a wreath, with delicate features and a picturesque face. Her wide-sleeved dress, white and blue, was cinched by a golden waist belt, accentuating her full and proud curves. Her legs were long and fair, and her exquisite, delicate feet hung naturally, her toes lightly touching the water as she floated in mid-air.

Fang Xin couldn't help but be stunned as he looked at the beautiful woman before him. The woman was indeed incredibly beautiful, and she seemed to be enveloped in an inviolable, sacred radiance.

The woman stared at Fang Xin, her eyes filled with curiosity.

“Ali!” Tiger Guard Mo called out.

The woman looked back, her beautiful eyes sparkling, creating ripples of autumn water, filled with the joy of reuniting with an old friend, “Brother Mo!”

Tiger Guard Mo’s stiff face stretched into a smile.

Ali’s gaze returned to Fang Xin.

Their fingers were still intertwined. Ali took Fang Xin’s hand and placed it on her chest.

Ali slowly lowered her head, “Having received the summons! I shall be reborn! Ali pledges to serve my master with her life!”

Fang Xin’s smile was pure.

“Hehehe, this is good, this is good.”

Upon inquiry, Ali had dual talents: both SS-rank Bow and Crossbow Talent and SS-rank Mental Talent.

At her peak, her combat power was also at the eleventh-level peak!

Ali scrutinized Fang Xin.

“Your Lordship’s name is Fang Xin. Is your surname the ‘Fang’ from ‘heaven is round and earth is square’?”

“Yes! Why?” Fang Xin asked, somewhat puzzled.

Ali paused, carefully examining Fang Xin’s eyebrows and eyes.

“Marshal Taishuxiong once had an old friend. I see the shadow of Marshal Taishuxiong’s old friend in Your Lordship. The Marshal’s old friend also had the surname Fang.

May I ask if my master knows Fang Qingdi, the head of the Divine Court’s Four Great Divine Generals?”
