Chapter 5: Three broken ribs

As soon as Yun Shuang'er left, Ye Feng opened his eyes.

Seeing Yun Shuang'er flying far away on a crane, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Luckily, I played dead just now, otherwise my life would definitely be gone!"

He struggled to get up, looking at the red footprints on the skin of his chest.

"We're from the same School, how could she kick so hard! Besides... this wasn't my fault. You came here in the middle of the night and took off your clothes without saying anything. I was forced to watch, I'm also a victim... Ouch, it hurts so much!"

The burning pain made Ye Feng feel that he must have suffered internal injuries.

He quickly checked internally and found that he had broken three ribs.

Fortunately, the broken bones did not pierce his internal organs, so it would not be fatal in the short term.

But the pain was certain, and he couldn't continue his journey; any slight movement would cause excruciating pain.

There was no doctor here, so Ye Feng could only start self-treatment.

Enduring the severe pain, he broke many thin, straight branches.

Then he tore his clothes into strips, connecting them to use as bandages for binding.

After doing all this, he bit a wooden stick, sat cross-legged, and entered an internal viewing state.

Then, through touch and internal viewing, he identified the three broken ribs.

Finally, he slowly reset the broken bones.

Every slight touch to the broken bone area caused intense pain, as if thousands of steel needles were piercing his bone marrow, making it unbearable.

The pain burned like fire within his body, and the surrounding muscles and nerves also seemed affected, making it difficult for Ye Feng to even breathe.

Fortunately, he finally endured it, letting out dozens of pig-like screams after biting through the wooden stick in his mouth, and successfully reset all three broken bones.

At this moment, Ye Feng's face was pale, and sweat beaded on his forehead, cheeks, and neck.

"That really hurts like hell!"

He rested for a moment, then picked up the wooden sticks he had collected earlier to use as splints, and the connected cloth strips as bandages, wrapping and securing them to prevent the broken bones from shifting again.

After all this, he was so exhausted he was almost collapsing. He slowly lay down, watching the colorful streaks of light formed by the Disciples practicing Sword Control in the sky during the morning, and gasped for breath.

As his body slowly stabilized, the burning pain also gradually lessened, but it was still very painful.

So, Ye Feng thought of Cultivating to heal his injuries.

Although he didn't know the Cultivation method, the Original Owner was at the third level of the Hundred Meridians Realm, just a step away from the Sword Control Realm, and still had some True Qi Spiritual Qi in his Dantian.

Ye Feng closed his eyes, continuously adjusted his breathing, and then slowly mobilized the Spiritual Qi in his meridians and Dantian, gently nourishing the broken bone area.

Instantly, a cool sensation swept over him, and the pain immediately subsided by more than half.

Seeing that this method was indeed effective, Ye Feng was overjoyed.

"I'm a Genius!"

There's a common saying, "a hundred days to heal a broken bone."

This only applies to Mortals without Cultivation.

For Cultivators, a broken bone is nothing.

As long as the broken bone is reset and nourished with True Qi, it can not only quickly alleviate pain but also accelerate bone healing.

With Ye Feng's injuries, he could walk freely in two or three days and fully recover in at most ten to fifteen days.

When Ye Feng opened his eyes again, it was already afternoon.

At this moment, the broken bone injury was not very painful, but he had consumed a lot of True Qi and felt very hungry.

He wanted to find something to eat, but was afraid of aggravating his injury.

Staying here didn't seem safe either.

Last night, a huge tiger appeared here; who knew if that tiger would come strolling by again tonight.

However, leaving here was not a wise choice either; with his current injuries, he couldn't go far at all.

After a moment of thought, Ye Feng finally decided to stay here and rest for another night.

After several hours of Cultivating to heal his injuries, the broken bone area, nourished by True Qi Spiritual Qi, had already begun to gradually heal.

He felt that if he Cultivated for another night, he should be mostly recovered by tomorrow.

He couldn't help but sigh, "Cultivators are great; their injuries recover so quickly."

The hunger in his stomach was burning painfully. As Ye Feng debated whether to endure another day of hunger or risk dislocating his broken bone to find food, he suddenly saw a fish leisurely swimming in the stream beside him.

Fish in the large pond would be difficult for Ye Feng to catch in his current physical condition. But this gurgling stream was very narrow, only half a meter deep, so catching a fish would be quite simple.

He struggled to get up and used the smooth pebbles around him to set up a simple fishing trap in the stream.

After waiting for a moment, he saw a large white fish swimming downstream from the direction of the pond along the small stream.

Once the large white fish swam into the trap, Ye Feng quickly sealed the entrance again with pebbles.

The fish was then trapped in the pile of rocks.

Ye Feng used a branch to repeatedly stab the large fish's body a few times.

It weighed over ten catties!

He said contentedly, "Hitting roe deer with a stick, scooping fish with a ladle, wild pheasants flying into the rice pot—the produce of this world is truly abundant, almost comparable to the Greater Khingan Mountains!"

He gave the big fish's head a few big smacks with a stone.

Then he smashed a rock, found a relatively sharp stone from the fragments, gutted the large fish, and washed it by the stream.

"No fire, so I can only eat sashimi..."

This was the only thing Ye Feng felt was lacking.

However, this plump large white fish had delicate flesh and no fishy smell, and it tasted quite good raw.

After eating more than half of the ten-plus catties of fish, Ye Feng finally burped, looking utterly satisfied.

By this time, the sun had set. Worried that wild beasts might come during the night, Ye Feng, leaning on a stick, went to a large rock on the east side of the waterfall.

Last night, Yun Shuang'er had dressed here; it provided good concealment and was much safer than by the edge of the pond.

However, the area behind this rock was very uneven and uncomfortable to lie on, so he could only choose to sit cross-legged and continue to Cultivate, urging the Spiritual Qi in his Dantian to nourish his broken bones.

This session of Cultivating to heal lasted about five hours, and Ye Feng opened his eyes again.

It wasn't that he was lazy, but the Spiritual Qi in his Dantian was almost depleted, and the True Qi flowing through his meridians was much weaker than last night.

"I thought you were a master! Your True Qi is depleted so quickly?"

Ye Feng grumbled, very dissatisfied with the Original Owner.

He also didn't know how to absorb True Qi, so he could only stop Cultivating.

Soon, drowsiness came over him, and he leaned against the large rock and fell into a deep sleep.

When he woke up, it was already broad daylight.

Ye Feng immediately checked his injuries internally.

It was much better than he had expected; with his efforts, the broken bones had healed by more than half, and he felt almost no pain, only a slightly sore and itchy sensation.

This made Ye Feng overjoyed.

He moved his body, then gently touched the location of the broken bone with his hand. After confirming it wasn't an illusion, Ye Feng finally stood up.

He came to the small stream where he had eaten fish last night. It seemed no wild beasts had visited here last night, as the remaining small half of the fish was still on the rock by the stream.

Ye Feng wanted to continue eating, but picked it up and smelled it; it was a bit stale.

He turned to look at the stream and saw another large white fish swimming freely.

He decisively discarded the fish meat in his hand and, using yesterday's method, easily caught another large fish.

This time, Ye Feng did not plan to eat sashimi.

His broken bones no longer hurt much, so he went into the dense forest to the north and found some dead wood branches and dry grass.

Using the most primitive method of drilling wood to make fire, he rubbed for half a day, his palms almost worn raw, before finally igniting the tinder.

Seeing the flame rise, a sense of accomplishment welled up within him.

"Watching those survival documentaries wasn't in vain..."

Before long, the aroma of roasted fish filled the air.

Ye Feng ate the roasted fish while watching the colorful streaks of light above his head. His eyes no longer held the initial envy, but rather confusion.

He was now standing at a crossroads in his life again.

Yun Shuang'er's kick wasn't in vain; not only did he witness a beauty bathing, but he also learned a lot of useful information from Yun Shuang'er's words.

Before meeting Yun Shuang'er, Ye Feng had only suspected that the Original Owner might have been murdered; now he was completely certain.

He had occupied this body for more than two days, and his mind still only contained his own memories, knowing nothing about the Original Owner's memories.

This was a very disadvantageous start for Ye Feng.

Without the Original Owner's memories, he wouldn't know who the murderer was. Rashly returning to Yunhai Sect would be extremely dangerous.

Since the murderer could kill the Original Owner once, he could kill him twice.

"But if I don't go back, where else can I go? Alas..."

Ye Feng let out a sigh.
