Chapter 1398 - 1398: The Whispers and Relic!

From MC’s Perspective:

I continued to observe the broken shield, but I’m not impressed with it. If it were a type of attack magic artifact, I would be interested in buying it.

“Do you want that?” Melissa asked.

“No, thanks,” I replied.

Then I thought about checking out other places in the city. I looked at both of them.

“Since the item I’m looking for is not here, I’m planning to check out a few stores,” I said to them.

Melissa was not surprised, but Susan Park was disappointed. She had decided to help, yet there were no items that were useful to Vincent Carey here.

I looked at both of their reactions. Then I thought it would be better to travel alone.

“Susan, if you want, you can stay here. I want to visit the shop alone,” I said to her.

Hearing that, she was taken aback but nodded her head in the end. She understood that Vincent needed privacy.

Then we left the basement and returned to the living area. I thanked Melissa for her help and nodded to Susan Park before leaving.

Soon, I exited the huge main gate and started walking towards the main street on foot. While walking, I wore a mask to cover my face.

Though the mask doesn’t provide full coverage, as long as a wizard wants to see my face, they can find out if they try.

After coming to the main street, I noticed a small number of people. It’s because the neighborhood is a gated community, and not many visitors from outside come to this place.

Shortly afterward, a couple of aircabs came from outside. I entered one of them and told the driver to take me to the famous antique stores in the city.

The driver was shocked and happy that he had met a big customer today. He could make a lot of money by taking me around the big shops.

Swoosh!

The driver then started driving. The aircab hovered in mid-air before moving towards the destination. The biggest antique shop in the city is run by an auction company.

While driving, the driver started to spill details. Since it was run by an antique company, they never ran out of items. Because of this, they have a regular stream of customers.

About 21 minutes later, the driver dropped me in front of the antique shop.

“The Whispers and Relic,” I uttered as I stepped out of the cab. I then told the driver to stay here, and he was more than happy.

I walked into this multi-storey building. A young woman of my age was sitting behind the desk. I immediately stated my purpose for visiting the shop.

But the woman continued to stare at my mask. Then I saw her eyes glow for a second. Hearing that, my heart skipped a beat.

What are the odds? I have finally met someone who can see through the mask. She must have magic related to her eyes.

I used the system to probe. When the results appeared on the status panel, they confirmed that I was right.

She has eye abilities—a unique magic. I wonder why she is working at the antique shop. Then I saw that the woman was continuing to stare at me.

“My name is Margot. I’m the daughter of the owner of this shop,” the brown-haired woman said.

Hearing that, I was stunned. Then I understood where her confidence came from.

I looked at her and said, “I know you can see my face, but I’m a customer here, so keep my confidentiality.”

Margot was speechless. She was meeting the wizard seed Vincent for the first time. If not for his face appearing on the news during the previous magic arena duel, she wouldn’t have known.

She calmed her heart and said, “Alright, I won’t tell.” She stood up from the chair to help; she had a new celebrity here.

She thought it wouldn’t hurt her to show him around the shop.

“Since this is your first time here, I’m going to show you around the shop. If you need something, you can tell me,” Margot said.

Hearing that, I thanked her. I didn’t expect the owner’s daughter to help me out. Then she started to take me around the shop.

The place is even more spacious than Melissa’s home. There are hundreds of collections. I’m using the system to probe.

I stood before each rack for a couple of seconds to verify. Margot thought Wizard Seed Vincent Carey was observing the antique items.

She was shocked in her heart. She thought Wizard Seed Vincent Carey would be preparing for the upcoming duel—there was still only one day left. Yet he had time to explore the antique collections.

On the other hand, I got negative results on the panel. There were no real magic artifacts here. Most of the items consisted of daily items used by people from the old era.

After giving it some thought, I decided to ask her straightforwardly.

“Wizard Margot, do you have preserved magic scrolls?” I asked.

Hearing that, Margot was surprised, but then she nodded her head.

She replied, “I need permission from my father. Could you wait here for a minute?”

“Okay,” I replied before turning towards the sofa and table and walking toward them.

I sat on the sofa and began to wait for her.

“The Whispers and Relic,” I said in my heart.

I wonder what’s the name of the auction company behind it.

On the other hand, Margot quickly entered the elevator to go to the top floor. When the elevator reached the top floor, it creaked.

The lift door opened. The next second, she stepped outside and started running toward the last room in the corridor.

When she got there, she opened the door to enter. Then she saw a middle-aged man with short black hair and eyes working behind the tech screen.

He was updating stock details.

“What is it, Margot?” the middle-aged man, Flinn, asked.

“Father, we have a celebrity customer here,” Margot replied with a smile.
