Chapter 9: Titan

Father Uranus was indeed incredibly creative, inventing a seemingly perfect method of handling things.

However, this method was far too cruel.

For any intelligent being, being imprisoned in endless darkness and nothingness was an infinite terror and torment, transcending the limits of both body and mind.

In fact, it would be better to completely lose self-awareness; that would be the ultimate liberation.

But if Uranus, the Lord of Spirituality, was unwilling to retract this “gift”—that is, spiritual consciousness—then abandoning this “gift” was also impossible.

Even earthly madmen possess spirituality.

And the vast and boundless spirituality of the gods made it impossible for them to even fall into madness; they could only eternally endure this endless torment, experiencing everlasting pain with full awareness.

In this endless Tartarus, there was no space, no light, no air, no breath, no sound; absolutely nothing at all, not even the passage of time could be perceived.

Even companions who were close by could not sense each other's existence in the slightest, separated by eternal nothingness.

Beyond feeling that they were still alive and forever suffering the terrible torment of this endless dark void, they felt nothing and could do nothing.

They couldn't even perceive their own movements or sounds; only their consciousness persisted in the darkness, and for this dreadful situation, losing all consciousness would be the ultimate blessing.

The three Hecatoncheires were unhesitatingly cast by Uranus into this endless, terrifying abyss, innocently dragging the three Cyclopes along with them.

Uranus, "considering Gaia," thought it inappropriate for the three Cyclopes to remain underground, believing it would make Gaia too uncomfortable.

So, he casually threw all six brothers into Tartarus.

He did not care in the slightest that these were also his children.

However, Mother Goddess Gaia cared!

Uranus's actions caused Mother Goddess Gaia immense spiritual pain, as if her heart was being torn apart.

Although her plan had failed, she had a profound affection for the children she had painstakingly nurtured.

Having already gained consciousness, she naturally knew how terrifying the endless abyss's torment was.

And now, her six children, having committed no wrong whatsoever, suffered such immense misfortune and injustice, which filled Mother Goddess Gaia's heart with pain and overwhelming rage.

Mother Goddess Gaia's most obedient "third son," Ourea, the majestic Lord of the Mountains and the embodiment of the Earth's surface.

He most deeply felt Mother Goddess's pain and anger, and his massive body trembled.

He angrily protested to Father Uranus.

Then, Ourea, the Lord of the Mountains, met the same fate as Erebus, the Lord of Darkness, before him.

Father Uranus did not hesitate for even a moment in dealing with Ourea.

All of Uranus's cold, ruthless, and arbitrary actions filled his other twelve children with immense fear.

Facing Uranus's ruthlessness and absolute tyrannical control, the fundamental laws of the universe trembled, not even daring to make a sound.

Yet, when Uranus saw his children trembling in fear under his absolute majesty, he felt immense pleasure and pride, and his arrogant divinity was satisfied.

Immediately, he gave these children a derogatory and mocking nickname.

Titans (Greek: Τιτάν; plural: Titans / Τιτᾶνες).

The original meaning was "those who strain" or "those who tremble."

This all-conquering Father Uranus, who ruled over everything in the universe, was now arrogant to the extreme, filled with absolute self-importance.

He would not have imagined that after his overthrow, the meaning of this nickname would undergo a profound transformation.

At that time, the meaning of this word would become—"gigantic" or "extraordinary."

This would be the highest honorific for the victors, for those who overthrew the absolute dictator and accomplished great deeds.

Uranus, the master of all spirituality and the embodiment of the firmament, always remained so high above, never deeming anything worthy of his attention.

Aside from his obsessive fascination with matter and his desire to control everything, he cared for nothing else.

For he himself was the spiritual light born from the Mother of Matter swallowing love and desire, and then emerging from that love and desire.

Father Uranus's unending greedy love and Crazy Desire would only become the source of suffering for all living beings.

Mother Goddess Gaia had fully realized that even by uniting with Father Uranus, and even by utilizing his essence, it would still be impossible to conceive a life that could defeat him.

Therefore, she lost interest in uniting with Uranus, becoming very passive, and no longer possessing her former enthusiasm and cooperation.

Father Uranus was extremely displeased by this, but his arrogant divinity could do nothing about it, as Mother Goddess Gaia had not directly refused him, merely adopted a passive attitude.

Gaia was uniquely special; Uranus would not lightly annihilate and reshape Mother Goddess Gaia's consciousness over such a minor matter.

Time flowed silently, yet irresistibly, little by little.

Father Uranus, powerful and arrogant to the extreme, remained as overbearing and arbitrary as ever.

His vast divine might enveloped the universe, and all intelligent beings still trembled under his oppressive power, daring not to voice any dissent.

However, intelligent beings will ultimately find their own way to survive.

The most fundamental instinct of all life, an primal instinct even transcending spirituality, is the craving for a sense of security in existence.

The arrogant and disdainful ruler of the universe had forgotten that even his own birth stemmed from the most fundamental survival desire of "existence," that primal urge not to return to nothingness.

Perhaps, intelligent beings could endure everything about themselves being controlled by another's mere thought.

However, they absolutely could not tolerate this supreme power being held in the hands of a whimsical and capricious deity.

Even if he was the master of spirituality, the divine lord of the universe, the supreme Father Uranus.

Such tyrannical oppression would ultimately ignite rebellion.

Finally, the compassionate Mother of All Things could no longer endure Father Uranus's endless, overwhelming desires, nor could she tolerate his arbitrary willfulness; her inner rage was like lava about to erupt.

And Night Lady, who likewise hated Uranus to the extreme, keenly sensed the surging anger and unwillingness deep within the Mother of All Things.

The two primordial Mother Goddesses, driven by their shared desire for survival and their extreme hatred of oppression, instinctively learned to unite and cooperate.

Their vast spiritual wisdom began to weave a massive net of counterattack.

A giant net that enveloped the heavens.
