The buzzing sound of electricity rang out, and the White Knight's right arm ejected a high-voltage electric sword.
“Breath of Thunder, Fifth Form: Scorching Boundary Lightning!”
A searing golden-blue lightning strike slashed against the surface of the Anti-Dollmaster Armor, but the promethium alloy on it only turned slightly red before quickly returning to its original state.
“More promethium metal, huh…”
Within the White Knight, Shimizu frowned.
Promethium metal is basically immune to magic or conventional energy attacks. The physical hardness of promethium metal is also unbelievably high. Without superhuman strength, it's basically impossible to break through its defenses.
“So, you think that locking yourself in this turtle shell means no one can do anything to you? But you can block my attacks, what about him?”
Shimizu’s tone carried a hint of mockery as he pointed the high-voltage electric sword towards the Batplane hovering in the sky.
“I have no intention of being your enemy, Klier Water, or whoever else you are.”
Batman’s deep voice sounded as he pressed the button on his palm.
The last time Shimizu displayed his Wind Release ability, Batman had modified the Batplane.
The bottom of the Batplane rotated, raising four turbines that spewed flames, rapidly ascending into the sky and emitting ultrasonic waves—sound waves can transmit energy, vibrating the air. Theoretically, when the frequency of the ultrasonic waves is high enough, it can interfere with the flow and density of the air, affecting Shimizu's air current manipulation.
In addition, there were multiple boosters and airflow stabilizers, relying on sensors and smart chips to calculate and precisely counteract the airflow generated by the internal chemical reagent reaction with the changing direction and intensity of the external airflow, in order to maintain balance.
Such immense computing power could only be achieved with Wayne Enterprises' black technology.
“Damn rich people!”
Shimizu watched helplessly as the Batplane flew away, then looked at Batman, who was huddled in his turtle shell.
“You can’t protect him forever, unless you lock this guy up for life, otherwise I will definitely kill him. But if you lock him up for life, then he is no different from being truly dead.”
“Oh, right, not just this guy, that fat, greasy mayor, and those brain-dead politicians who support this Arkham City policy, I will personally kill them one by one. I want to know, how are you going to protect them? They are a thousand times more evil than those criminals. I think you understand this better than I do.”
“And you've disgusted me twice already, Batman. You must have investigated me, knowing that I don't have a very good temper. If you continue, I will retaliate against you, starting with those closest to you. What do you say… am I right, Mr. Wayne?”
Batman simply stood silently in place, watching Shimizu, until Shimizu spoke the word "Wayne."
“You are not Klier Water.”
“I have investigated all the treatment reports of you being locked up in Arkham Asylum. You suddenly changed one day. After escaping from Arkham, you were no longer that strange doctor, but another person with an extremely obsessive desire for power and authority.”
“Hmm, so now, what does any of this have to do with our fight?”
“At least you are not the Klier Water in the records, or perhaps the former Klier Water was just a mask you wore to achieve a certain goal. The current you is the real you. Maybe I know what you want to do.”
Batman looked at Shimizu and said.
Looking through Bruce Wayne's past resume, he seems like a extravagant, pleasure-seeking billionaire playboy, completely unlike the serious and mysterious Batman.
That was his disguise, and he once even voluntarily locked himself in prison to contact those criminals in order to understand them.
Before entering Arkham, Klier Water had not committed any heinous crimes—just stitching up corpses, manipulating the dead, things that were more in line with the definition of mental illness.
Looking at Klier Water's path to becoming a gangster, most of the territories under his command have developed relatively well, and he doesn't engage in businesses that harm the people, such as drugs.
He is different from other gangs, at least his goals are different. As for the real purpose, Batman only has one guess, and he has chosen the most reasonable one.
Perhaps the person in front of him has chosen a path similar to his own, but also completely different.
Both are walking into darkness, but Batman uses a purer darkness to bring fear, strike at darkness, and maintain order.
And this person integrates into the darkness, using his own way to control the darkness, and establish an order in the darkness that is more in line with his ideas.
But his actions are more radical and have even fewer bottom lines.
In this regard, he would be more like the Master Ninja, but that person's purpose is to destroy the darkness, not to strike at or control it.
As for not taking a less dark path, such as politics, it is almost impossible in Gotham, and Batman can understand it.
The more you understand Gotham, the more you know that light cannot save Gotham. The best example is Harvey Dent. The darkness of Gotham will drag the light down into the endless abyss.
Shimizu did not expect that Batman would have strange guesses because of the huge difference between himself and the original owner of the body.
He just wanted more luck. It just so happens that the ways to obtain luck and to obtain power and strength are highly overlapping.
As for not doing some things and not allowing Hogg United to do them, it's just because he thinks he's not a good person, but he's not an animal either, and he doesn't allow the people around him to be animals.
Otherwise, he might not be able to help but kill those animals first.
“Very well, since you know what I want to do, then don’t hinder me.”
“I will keep an eye on you and prevent you from becoming like that person, going astray because of obsession. Also, Mayor Sharpe will eventually be imprisoned for life like Dr. Hugo, but they should not die at your hands.”
“You mean…”
“Sharpe is, after all, the mayor, and Hugo is, after all, a Gotham City councilman, as well as those high-ranking officials in the city government. They represent the government of this country. If you kill them, you will have to confront the most powerful political organs in the world. Then, you will face the most violent retaliation, and everything you own will be reduced to ashes.”
Batman replied.
Damn! Seems like there's some truth to that!
