"Bruce! What the hell is going on! Why are all my moves and skills being read like an open book? What is this so-called failsafe robot? Why do I feel like it knows us so well?"
Tim, clutching his two short batons, lay bruised and battered on the ground, weakly speaking into his ear-mic.
"Cough, cough! I'll figure something out, Tim. Try to contact the Justice League, I can't handle this guy."
Bruce Wayne, wearing a tattered and torn Batsuit, sat in the Batmobile, looking through the rearview mirror at the Failsafe robot speeding after him on the road behind.
He honestly didn't know about Failsafe's existence, but the moment he was suddenly attacked by it today, he knew what it was.
It was something he himself had created.
Many people can create powerful robots, but only Batman could create a powerful robot so familiar with the Bat-Family.
However, that Batman isn't Bruce Wayne.
Or rather, not entirely.
Just then, the roar of a motorcycle engine echoed as Nightwing, riding a custom motorcycle bearing the Bat-symbol, charged head-on towards the Batmobile.
"No, Grayson, you're no match for it."
"Oh, and you are? You're the one getting your butt kicked right now."
Nightwing retorted before pressing a button on his motorcycle.
At the last moment before colliding with the Batmobile, the motorcycle leaped high into the air, soaring over the Batmobile and slamming into Failsafe.
A second later, the explosives loaded in the motorcycle detonated, smoke billowing out.
Nightwing, with an elegant movement, performed a backflip in mid-air, landing on his feet.
He was immediately sent flying by a massive black metal foot, size fifty-something.
Unscathed by the explosion, Failsafe emerged from the smoke, kicked Nightwing away, and continued its pursuit of the Batmobile.
The poor Bat-boy had barely managed to stall Failsafe for less than a second.
"You're in much worse shape than me now, Grayson. And, the one getting beat up the most is Tim."
Batman quipped, but his speed didn't falter as he steered the Batmobile towards an old Batcave outside the city.
He knew that, of everyone, he was the most likely to be killed by Failsafe.
A Batman who, at some point, was deemed to have triggered a "failsafe."
"Tim, Grayson, I'm going to lure the robot to Batcave Four."
Batman floored the accelerator, successfully entering the Batcave and activating its internal defense modules before Failsafe could catch him.
These measures would only buy him time.
And Batman knew what he had to do to defeat this formidable robot.
Explosions echoed continuously from the entrance tunnel as Batman, dragging his injured body, pulled out an iron box from a corner of the Batcave and opened it.
Inside was a new Batsuit.
Unlike the Bat-suits of the past, which were primarily black and gray, this one was mainly purple and red.
Batman quickly stripped off his clothes and donned the suit.
"It's your turn to come out and solve this problem, my other self."
As the purple cowl fused with his skin, Batman's aura instantly changed.
This was his alternate personality, Zur-En-Arrh.
From the day the Justice League was formed, Batman had prepared plans for every member of the Justice League, in case they ever lost control and went berserk.
This included Batman himself.
Compared to the other members of the Justice League, he was more worried about losing control himself. So he rediscovered the mind control methods he had learned in Asia when he was young. After some manipulations, he created an alternate personality for himself, Zur-En-Arrh, which could serve as a way to defend against mental attacks, and also as a means to restrain himself.
What Batman knows, Zur-En-Arrh also knows.
He was another Batman created by Batman, to prevent Batman from going rogue and crossing the line.
Zur-En-Arrh created Failsafe as a means to deal with Batman and actively shielded his memories during that time.
Once Batman crossed the line and started killing, the Failsafe meticulously created by Zur-En-Arrh would be activated.
They were both Batman, one with a premeditated plan against an unsuspecting opponent. Bruce Wayne was hardly a match for Failsafe. He could only try to call out Zur-En-Arrh.
Because Zur-En-Arrh had always been hiding within him, Zur-En-Arrh must know whether Batman had crossed the line.
At this time, he would help Batman.
"You must have set up a contingency plan against Failsafe. Tell me what it is."
In his subconscious, Batman's primary personality proactively spoke to Zur-En-Arrh.
"On the Justice League Watchtower."
Zur-En-Arrh said.
The next moment, the door burst open, Failsafe glowing with red alarm lights all over its body, striding towards Zur-En-Arrh.
Outside the Batcave, Nightwing and Tim, who had briefly tended to their injuries, each arrived with their weapons.
Because, reinforcements, had arrived.
As if a BGM was playing, Wonder Woman, clad in armor, holding a sword and shield, lasso at her waist, looked resolutely into the Batcave.
She had arrived so quickly because she happened to be in Gotham.
She had previously asked Shimizu and Batman to collect information on items related to the ancient Greek gods, and the agreed-upon time was today.
......
......
At the same time, Shimizu's private jet was flying smoothly on the route from Metropolis to Gotham.
Shimizu had just finished dealing with official business and was about to have lunch.
Just as he put on his napkin and picked up his knife and fork to face the steak on his plate, he heard the electronic sound of Weit-Os ringing on his watch.
"Received a distress signal from Batman."
A distress signal from Batman?
Shimizu raised his eyebrows slightly, then looked out the window of the plane as if sensing something.
A muscular man with a red cape and blue tights was bursting out of the clouds, nodding slightly to Shimizu, then plunged headfirst downwards, flying towards Gotham.
Even Superman was called?
Then it seemed that it was not a small matter. Batman couldn't handle it alone, so he called in reinforcements.
But with the current roster of the Justice League, as long as it wasn't a multi-universal level event like Barbatos or Darkseid's invasion, or Batman suddenly going rogue and insane and wanting to wipe out the Justice League, it should be enough to deal with most threats on Earth.
