Chapter 10: : Be careful not to cause death when dating

The Little Girl happily replied, “That’s right, it’s him! He’s grown up now and even got into the Film Academy. He’s my Junior Brother.”

“Huh, how did you two get in touch? Did he look for you?” Liu Xiaoli still had questions. She was a bit exasperated with her daughter’s flightiness. She had caused trouble back then, and now she was in contact with him again.

“We’ve always been in touch! I added him as a QQ friend that time, and we’ve been in contact ever since. We’re good friends,” the Little Girl began to make up stories.

“Don’t tell me you’re dating him?” Liu Xiaoli’s head ached. Her daughter had been spending time with a young boy behind her back for several years, and she hadn’t known anything about it.

“Dating? No, he was just a little kid back then, still in junior high. Dating him would have been illegal. He’s grown up now, but he won’t confess to me, so of course, I won’t proactively date him either,” every word from the Little Girl was designed to provoke Liu Xiaoli’s nerves.

“You mean, if he confesses to you, you’ll date him?” Liu Xiaoli’s temples throbbed. She was about to be infuriated by this girl.

“If he confesses, I’ll consider it,” the Little Girl replied with a cheeky grin.

“Consider what? How can a celebrity date a fan?” Liu Xiaoli was furious and wanted to reach out and pull her ear.

The Little Girl dodged her mother’s grasp. Ever since her mother wanted her to star in the forbidden kingdom, and she instead took all the money to invest in “wanted,” the two had a confrontation. After that, she felt more confident facing her mother and was no longer afraid of her mother, the scapegoat agent.

“Mom, don’t rush. This fan of mine isn’t just any ordinary fan,” the Little Girl spoke halfway, then waited for her mother to prompt her. This was how adults communicated.

Sure enough, Liu Xiaoli, as if programmed, responded, “How is he not ordinary?”

The Little Girl chuckled. She often chatted with Chen Hao before, and he liked talking to her this way. She had learned a bit of it now, and it was quite interesting.

“Mom, this fan of mine is a genius, a very amazing genius,” the Little Girl said proudly.

“How is he a genius?” Liu Xiaoli subconsciously blurted out, essentially falling into the Little Girl’s conversational rhythm.

“You always thought those songs weren’t written by me, right? Guess who wrote them,” the Little Girl had completely taken control of the pace.

“Could it be that kid wrote them for you?” Liu Xiaoli answered as if on cue.

“That’s right! He started writing songs for me when he was 15, and he’s written so many. I still have some that haven’t been released yet.”

“That amazing?” Liu Xiaoli somewhat understood why her daughter would like this kid. Talented people always attract beautiful women.

But she immediately noticed something amiss: “It’s one thing for him to write songs for you, but why doesn’t he put his name on them?”

“Precisely because it’s him, he doesn’t want his name on them! He was still a high school student, with heavy academic workload, and didn’t want to be disturbed by the media. If I bought songs from other people, would they give up their naming rights?” The Little Girl had anticipated this question long ago, so her answer was calm and collected.

When the Little Girl put it that way, Liu Xiaoli also found it quite reasonable. She shook her head with a chuckle, never expecting such a talented person to emerge from her daughter’s fans.

Liu Xiaoli, being an experienced person, knew the appeal of such a talented person to a Little Girl like her daughter. Yifei might have fallen for him. How could she pull her back?

Although this kid was a genius, she still didn’t want her daughter to date so early. Who announces a relationship at the peak of their idol career?

“Then we must thank him properly. Did you pay him for his songs?” Liu Xiaoli decided to solve the problem with money.

“No, I didn’t pay him. He said he’s my fan and gave them to me for free,” the Little Girl immediately understood her mother’s intentions, but she wasn’t in a hurry. She decided to play along first.

“That’s not right. How can he write songs for you without getting paid? Not only do we have to pay, but we have to pay a high price. We’ll pay him the highest market price.” Liu Xiaoli was experienced. Once money was involved, the matter between this boy and her daughter would become a business transaction.

“Paying is fine, but he also had me invest in “wanted” and I earned tens of millions of dollars, and he even made me an international star. How much should we pay him for that?” The Little Girl said with a smile, her expression strikingly similar to a certain extremely handsome man.

“What do you mean?” Liu Xiaoli was startled now.

“Mom, don’t you find it strange? I don’t even like reading comics, so why would I specifically go to America to acquire the copyright for an obscure comic?”

“Didn’t you say you stumbled upon it by chance?” Liu Xiaoli did indeed feel something was off. She had been fooled by this naughty girl back then, and now that the Little Girl mentioned it, the more she thought about it, the more it felt wrong.

“Chen Hao saw it. He thought the character in it was perfect for me to play, so he had me acquire the comic copyright.”

“How would a high school student from a small county town see American comics?” Liu Xiaoli wasn’t stupid; she still had questions.

If the Little Girl had to answer this question herself, she would have a hard time, but Chen Hao had anticipated it long ago, so he told the Little Girl the answer.

“He’s a genius. He often goes online and bypasses the Great Firewall to browse foreign websites. This is what they call ‘a scholar doesn’t leave his door, yet he knows everything under heaven.’”

Although this answer still had many loopholes, Liu Xiaoli wasn’t a bug expert, so she was fooled.

Liu Xiaoli now had some understanding of Chen Hao’s genius level, and she felt a bit jealous, saying sourly, “You believe whatever he says, and you even dared to bet your entire fortune on it. What if he was wrong?”

“Mom, the money I invested in “wanted” was also earned from the songs he wrote. It doesn’t matter if I lost the bet; he can just write more songs. Besides, he didn’t just say it out of thin air; he analyzed it logically and with evidence. The bullet-bending concept in “wanted” is very eye-catching, and the female lead has many fighting moves, which is perfect for a fighting actress like me, who has average acting skills but good action. It’s almost like it was tailor-made for me, so why wouldn’t I believe him?”

“How does he, being so young, know so much?” Liu Xiaoli sighed to the heavens and threw up her hands in surrender. When a genius reaches this level, it seems there’s no need to refuse, right?

The Little Girl continued to press her advantage: “He also told me to refuse the forbidden kingdom. I briefly mentioned the plot to him, and when he heard it was about a white man saving Sun Wukong, he unhesitatingly concluded it was a terrible movie that even two Kings of Kung Fu couldn’t save.”

Liu Xiaoli: “…”

Back then, when Liu Xiaoli saw a movie with two Kings of Kung Fu joining forces, she thought it was an incredibly lucrative opportunity and didn’t care about the script at all, only wanting her daughter to act in it.

There’s no harm without comparison, but you’re the one who’s hurting me!

The Little Girl wasn’t finished; she continued, “He not only understands movies but also finance.”

Liu Xiaoli: “…”

“Don’t you understand my personality? Do you think I’d know about things like the first batch of companies listed on the ChiNext, or that the first stock in entertainment would definitely skyrocket??”

The Little Girl was really going all out for the Big Brother, even willing to disparage herself to elevate his status.

Liu Xiaoli: “If you two want to date, go ahead, but be careful not to create a life.”

Liu Yifei: “???”
