Chapter 110: Happy New Year! (Part 1)

The morning sun shone on the forest, covered in a new white blanket, forming a colorful, dreamlike light curtain above it.

Gardevoir Master, who had been busy all night, was about to make herself some breakfast… apologies for the channel hop.

“Gardevoir, gardevoir! (Quick, get moving, get moving!)”

A Gardevoir, with a Poké Toy in her mouth, was urging the Kirlias and Gardevoirs to get up and prepare for the New Year.

“Gardevoir~ (Yawn, what are you doing?)”

The Ponytail Gardevoir yawned and walked over to the Gardevoir with the Poké Toy in her mouth, asking with some confusion. After all, it was rare for them to be urged to wake up so early, as there was enough food in their territory.

From time to time, they still had to help Xiao Feng Feng find delicious food. Only by eating well would they be able to sustain the needs of such a large group of Gardevoirs and Kirlias.

But these tasks were usually divided. It was only when the clan leaders called a meeting that everyone was roused like this.

“Gardevoir. (Sigh, it’s just that the clan leaders asked me to call you all up, and specifically told me not to wake the Ralts.)”

“Gardevoir. (Alright, I still have to call others to get up. If you have questions, find the Gardevoir Clan Leader and them. There are still dozens of Kirlias and Gardevoirs to call.)”

The Gardevoir with the Poké Toy in her mouth sighed deeply. She herself was the first to be called up; today was simply absurd. Then she waved her hand, telling her good friend to find the Gardevoir Clan Leader and the others if there were any issues later, as she was busy now and had no time for chitchat.

She then walked to the next Gardevoir’s residence, leaving her bewildered friend watching her back.

The Ponytail Gardevoir scratched her head. Although she didn't quite understand why they had to discuss things so early and without calling the Ralts, she decided to go and see first.

However, her residence was very close to the meeting place, and seeing that there were still dozens of Gardevoirs behind, it was fine for her to walk slowly.

“Pidgeotto!”

A Pidgeotto perched on a nearby tree trunk, preening its feathers. Suddenly, it tilted its head, looking at this group of Gardevoirs who rarely walked. Today, it actually saw a Gardevoir walking?

What the hell!

The Pidgeotto flew away with a look of horror, needing to tell its kin about this matter.

The Ponytail Gardevoir didn't care about these trivial matters, humming a tune as she walked towards the meeting place. However, this clan meeting was something that the departed elder sister had learned from humans.

But it was very annoying. She didn't know why humans would create such things to torment themselves.

By the time she arrived at the large tree used for meetings, most of the Gardevoirs had already arrived. The Gardevoir Clan Leader glanced at her, saw that most of the clan members had arrived, and then used Psychic to gather them for a discussion.

“gardevoir! (You’re all curious why I called you up. It’s like this: this year is what the human world calls the New Year.)”

Before the Gardevoir Clan Leader could finish speaking, the Gardevoirs and Kirlias below began chattering and discussing.

Seeing this, the Gardevoir Clan Leader didn't stop them, but continued speaking to herself. After all, if she stopped them, they would just start arguing again later, so it was better to let them be and finish explaining things.

“Gardevoir. (I won’t say much more. You all know Xiao Feng is in human form, so we need to let him know human customs.)”

After speaking, the Gardevoir Clan Leader looked at her clan members below, seemingly waiting for their questions.

“Gardevoir. (I have a question.)”

A relatively normal Gardevoir raised her hand, indicating she had a question.

“Gardevoir. (Speak.)”

The Gardevoir Clan Leader nodded, allowing her to ask her question. She liked clan members who were eager to ask questions like this.

“gardevoir! (Xiao Feng Feng is human, but what does that have to do with us letting him know human customs?)”

The Gardevoir was very confused. What did Xiao Feng Feng being human have to do with them having to let him know human customs?

Anyway, Xiao Feng Feng would eventually live with them, so whether he knew human customs shouldn't be a big problem, right?

“Gardevoir. (Good question. Let me explain why. Ultimately, Xiao Feng’s father is human, and even if we dislike him, Xiao Feng will eventually want to find him.)”

“Gardevoir. (So, no matter how unwilling I am, what he needs to know, he must know.)”

The Gardevoir Clan Leader was a bit helpless. Even if she was unwilling, Xiao Feng Feng himself would eventually want to know who his father was.

So, rather than him having to learn in a hurry later, it was better for them to teach him gradually, to avoid many embarrassing situations that would make him a laughingstock.

Listening to the Gardevoir Clan Leader’s words, the Gardevoirs below became agitated. If that was the case, wouldn’t Xiao Feng Feng also travel like humans? No, not that! Xiao Feng Feng should be living peacefully in the forest with them, making little Ralts!

“Gardevoir, gardevoir! (Quiet, quiet! I know what you’re thinking,)”

“gardevoir! (You at least have to wait until he comes of age! Alright, alright, later, a few of you will take Xiao Feng and Xiao Ya out to play. Don’t let them know what we’re doing. The rest of you will help us prepare the New Year’s Eve dinner, understood?)”

The Gardevoir Clan Leader knew without listening what these Gardevoirs, whose minds were filled with only dirty thoughts, were thinking. Xiao Feng was still so young, and they were already thinking about that; honestly.

“gardevoir! (Understood!)” xN

“Kirlia! (Understood!)” xN

The Gardevoirs and Kirlias present indicated their understanding. Although they were reluctant for Xiao Feng Feng to travel later, if it made Xiao Feng Feng unhappy, that wasn't what they wanted.

“You all understood, right? Good. Go to your elder sister to receive your tasks. Be sure to do your job well.”

The Gardevoir Clan Leader saw that everyone understood her meaning and motioned for them to go to their elder sister to receive their tasks.

The Gardevoirs and Kirlias, who had been gathered around, left the meeting place in small groups, leaving only the Gardevoir Clan Leader sitting inside, drinking tea.

“Busy, being busy is good.”

Watching her clan members go to receive their work, the Gardevoir Clan Leader sighed… The Ponytail Gardevoir, who had received her work, was very excited, so much so that her high ponytail began to shake continuously.

“gardevoir! (Over here, over here, what task did you get?)”

The Ponytail Gardevoir, seeing her friend’s worried expression, happily greeted her.

“Gardevoir. (Sigh, it’s to find Appletuns and collect the skins they shed, and then steal Farfetch’d’s leeks.)”

The Gardevoir with the Poké Toy in her mouth was very helpless. It was this ingredient-gathering task again. This task came up every week, and she really didn’t want to go.

“Gardevoir~~~ (Hehehehe, ta-da! My task is to take care of Xiao Feng Feng.)”

The Ponytail Gardevoir very happily told her good friend about her task.
