Chapter 40: You two wait for me!

“Is this Pikachu very rare?”

Ash looked at Jessie and James, who were being subjected to a barrage of Fury Swipes, as if they were idiots. Why couldn't he see that Pikachu was rare?

“Last time it used an amazing move, and to be able to use a move beyond its level, there must be something significant going on. This is the deduction of the genius Pokémon Meowth, meow.”

Hearing Ash’s question, Meowth stopped using Fury Swipes on James and Jessie, crossed its arms, and began to proudly explain to Ash.

“You say that again! You say that again!”

“You’re no different yourself!”

Meowth was pressed to the ground and beaten by the two who had gotten up at some point. He himself had just explained things to the little brats, and now they were criticizing him!

The one-sided beating ended with Meowth’s cry of “I’m going to tell the boss.”

“Ahem, in short, you’d better hand over Pikachu obediently.”

As if nothing had happened, Jessie began to threaten Ash to hand over Pikachu.

How could Ash suffer such an injustice? He tilted his head and said disdainfully, “Hmph, I won’t!”

As if knowing Ash would refuse, Jessie and James had already taken out their Poké Balls at some point.

“If that’s the case, then we’ll just have to…”

“Duel with Pokémon!”

“Go, Ekans!”

“Koffing, it’s your turn!”

Throwing their Poké Balls, Koffing and Ekans appeared before them.

“It’s too despicable to have two attack at once!”

Ash seemed somewhat indignant. People who didn’t follow Pokémon battle rules were truly too bad.

“Hehe, in the dictionary of villains for love and truth, there are no such words as ‘despicable,’ meow.”

Jessie tossed her hair and said with great confidence. There were no such words as 'despicable' in her dictionary; they were villains, after all.

“That means your dictionary is terrible!”

Ash was very angry now. They were fighting two-on-one and saying it so seriously, but he seemed to have forgotten one thing: the two people watching the show next to him also had their own Pokémon.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s terrible, we’re playing the villains anyway.”

James looked indifferent. What did it matter if they were villains and their dictionary was terrible? Should they complain and get themselves arrested first?

Xiao Xia couldn’t stand it anymore. She stepped forward and pointed at Ash.

“What are you doing? They brought out two, so you should bring out two Pokémon too!”

Xiao Xia didn’t quite understand why Ash insisted on using Pikachu in a two-on-one battle.

“But the rules of a Pokémon arena battle are one Pokémon each at a time.”

Ash turned his head and explained seriously to Xiao Xia. Jessie and James also politely refrained from attacking.

“You’re still talking about rules at a time like this? Your Pokémon will be stolen! Yu Feng, quickly tell him something.”

Xiao Xia was speechless. Who understands, my friends… ahem. You talk about rules with bad guys, but bad guys don’t talk about rules with you.

Yu Feng also felt he should say a few words. Although it might affect Caterpie’s evolution, it was best to let Ash know that there was no need to follow rules when dealing with bad guys.

“Ash, actually, Pokémon battles aren’t just 1v1. There are also 2v2 double battles, and…”

“Alright, chatter time is over. Koffing, use Sludge Attack to block his movements.”

Yu Feng hadn’t finished speaking when James interrupted their casual chat. After all, they were there to do bad things, so they should at least respect their own actions.

Koffing spewed a mouthful of sludge directly onto Pikachu’s eyes, blinding him.

“Pika—!”

Pikachu, having been attacked, painfully covered its eyes, trying to wipe away the bothersome sludge.

Ash picked up Pikachu and angrily said to James and Jessie, “You attacked before the battle even started! That’s too much!”

After entrusting Pikachu to Xiao Xia’s care, Ash brought out the recently caught Pidgeotto to battle. Unfortunately, the newly caught Pokémon couldn’t defeat Team Rockets’ long-trained Ekans and Koffing and was forced to retreat.

“Darn it, you scoundrel!”

Ash didn’t send out Caterpie but instead charged at James and Jessie himself.

“?_?”

However, he was blocked by James, who was holding a rose in his mouth, with his hand. The advantage of height was evident.

“What the heck! Duel with me!”

Ash waved his hands, wanting to duel with James. If there were no Pokémon, then he would go himself!

“You big idiot! A Pokémon duel must be Pokémon against Pokémon!”

Meowth also unhesitatingly mocked Ash. Even a Pokémon like him knew this, but Ash, a Trainer, didn't.

“Flick your forehead.”

James sighed and extended his other hand, flicking Ash’s forehead. Ash, as if struck by a major attack, was sent flying backward.

“Ash!”

Xiao Xia, holding Pikachu, came to Ash’s side, looking at him with worry.

Yu Feng was also shocked. Was James really that strong? He actually flicked Ash’s forehead and sent him flying. But now that he had watched enough of the show, it was time to act. Otherwise, Auntie Hanako would scold him if she found out.

“I say, you guys, did you forget there are other people here? Give me some face and let this slide…”

Yu Feng stepped out from behind, rubbing his hair and looking at James and Jessie.

However, his words had no effect and only provoked Team Rockets’ laughter. After a while, they stopped, and Jessie wiped away tears from the corners of her eyes, saying to Yu Feng, “Da Guitou, you’re not our target. Don’t meddle, or we’ll take you too.”

“Exactly, exactly, who do you think you are, meow!”

Meowth also echoed Jessie’s words, his tone full of disdain for Yu Feng. They were villains, after all. Why should they give him face? The only reason they hadn't taken him too was because they were in a good mood.

“Alright, enough with the nonsense. Hand over Pikachu quickly; we’ll take good care of him.”

James also became serious. After all, at this point, they clearly had the upper hand. How could they lose with Koffing in their face?

“You really don’t put me in your eyes, do you?”

Yu Feng stopped his movements, and a hint of crimson appeared in his orange eyes.

Although he hadn’t gone into his boss form, he wasn’t someone James and his team could provoke right now. You see, Shinny Kirlia’s claim of beating Ursaring wasn’t achieved through Psychic, but through direct hand-to-hand combat, knocking it down.

As for why a Kirlia could overpower an Ursaring with brute force, this highlights the importance of the Trainer and how ordinary Pokémon only fight directly. But it cannot be denied that Yu Feng indeed overpowered Ursaring with brute force.

And besides, Psychic Pokémon are best at Psychic.

“Hey, hey, Jessie, I have a bad feeling about this.”

James saw Yu Feng’s eyes and nervously swallowed, patting Jessie beside him, seeking a sense of security.

“Me too, James.”

Jessie was also a bit nervous. She also felt something was amiss, a feeling that they had done something bad.

“Do you two really dare to keep chatting, meow?”

As a Pokémon, Meowth was most deeply affected by Yu Feng’s aura. He couldn't even exert a shred of strength right now.

“Hehe.”

The blue light representing Psychic appeared in Yu Feng’s eyes, and powerful Psychic enveloped Ekans and Koffing on the field.

Yu Feng manipulated Ekans to tie a knot around Koffing and then threw them directly into the distance.

“We were defeated by a human?”

James was so shocked that the rose in his mouth fell into his hand. He couldn’t believe that a human had defeated their Pokémon.

“Alright, this time, I’ll make an exception and stick a flower in you.”

“No need to pay anymore!”

Jessie and James grabbed Meowth, who was sprawled on the ground, unwilling to move, and casually dropped the roses in their hands onto the ground. The two quickly ran into the distance.

“Do you think you can escape? Let me give you a ride!”

Yu Feng’s mouth curled into a smirk, and his Psychic instantly grabbed the two running figures, throwing them in the direction where Koffing and Ekans had just gone.

“It’s over. Are you two alright?”

The red glow in Yu Feng’s eyes disappeared as he scratched his head and looked at the shocked Ash and Xiao Xia.

“Yu Feng, you…” Xiao Xia was about to say something when a Beedrill flew past her, making her face turn pale as she exclaimed, “Ugh! Let’s get out of this disgusting forest quickly!”

“It’s a Beedrill! This forest is quite worth staying in for a while.”

Seeing the Beedrill, Ash forgot what he was about to say and happily chased after the Beedrill.

“Hey, wait a minute!”

Yu Feng thought he was about to be interrogated, but he didn’t expect Ash to chase after the Beedrill. However, to avoid being questioned, he followed Ash and ran into the distance.

Xiao Xia also looked at the distant Ash and Yu Feng in shock, then quickly reacted and chased after them. She didn’t want to be left alone in this forest.

“More companions have joined! Ash is now in peak condition, but Viridian Forest is very large and not easily traversed!”

“Yu Feng, you’re saying strange things again! And wait for me! Don’t leave me alone here!”

Seeing Yu Feng start saying incomprehensible things again, Xiao Xia felt a bit helpless, but for now, she had to quickly catch up with the two of them. She would go crazy if left alone in this bug-type paradise!
