Chapter 41: Discuss

It was the third day in the Imperial Capital, the weather was hot and humid, and the sun scorched the earth.

Mil was diligent in his cultivation of strength, never slacking off…

Besides being busy with his own plans, he still continued his daily sword training, magic nerve synchronization, magic theory research, basic alchemy study, and Black Magic practical training.

Early this morning, Mil received a message from Lilith, delivered by the butler…

She said she had changed her mind and was preparing to participate personally.

Was it Miley, the Succubus Daughter, who persuaded her to go?

In Mil’s eyes, Lilith was pure and righteous; after all, her grandfather was the strongest White Magician in history, and if he had lived a few more years, Mil himself might have been in danger.

On the east side of the Royal Court District was a bustling magic market, with quaint Victorian-style alleys that seemed a bit out of place in the Imperial Capital;

The red bricks and green tiles had darkened with the erosion of time, merchants carved their shop signs onto black wrought-iron hanging plaques, and the display windows showcased a dazzling array of magic tools.

Passing through this market, across the street was a two-kilometer long, thirty-meter high perforated wrought-iron wall, covered in blue roses…

This was the famous Witch Queen’s Courtyard, and the Royal Magic Academy was hidden behind this wall.

Every day, travelers stopped here to admire it; generally, only Magicians could pass through this wall…

However, it was also common for foreign Magicians to be unable to pass for some unknown reason, causing them to lose their temper and break down on the spot.

Logically, Mil should be very familiar with this place, because this entire area was moved from Mil’s former residence, Jellahe Palace;

Mil’s alma mater, “Gelah Royal School,” in terms of age group, should be considered elementary school, right?

At the end of the east side of the market, where it should have bordered his alma mater, it had now become a 5v5 dueling arena.

Mil passed through the iron fence covered with blue roses, walked through the Witch Queen’s Courtyard, and arrived at the Royal Magic Academy…

The arcane training ground in the school was exceptionally lively today.

A gentle breeze carried a faint floral scent, sweeping across the lush green grass, dispelling some of the summer heat.

The talented young woman from Sibyl Magic Academy had issued a magic duel invitation to the Chief Royal Magician…

The training ground was already packed.

The two stood opposite each other, Lilith’s silk skirt hem rippling in small waves from the chaotic magical currents.

The clamor of the surrounding crowd drowned out the entire outdoor training ground.

To avoid being too conspicuous, Mil had prepared an exquisite disguise for himself…

He pulled his hooded cloak down further, looking at his distorted reflection cast on the academy’s paving stones—

He was currently disguised as a wandering Magician with a short grayish-white mustache, and a dark gold-patterned mask perfectly conformed to his facial contours, gradually blending with his skin, even the wrinkles around his eye sockets revealing the vicissitudes of time.

Fortunately, he wasn’t late.

Practical training between Magicians, no matter when, held high reference value, which explained why so many people were attracted to watch.

Lilith was not wearing a school uniform, nor her large wizard hat; she was dressed in a lady’s outfit.

Her dark brown long hair cascaded over her shoulders like a waterfall, her bangs were neatly arranged like a curtain, and a small, exquisite top hat was tilted on her head, looking more like an ornament.

Her off-the-shoulder gown was full in the front, and beneath her brown-gray diagonally cut pleated skirt, she wore deep purple ribbon-tied leggings.

Her skirt wasn’t short, but her legs were too long, with fluid lines that exuded youthful vitality, still very eye-catching.

“Oh my goodness! Is that Miss Lilith?”

“I heard she’s Mil’s fiancée, no wonder the Third Prince lost it. Who could accept that? I wouldn’t be able to live…”

“Ah… those legs, that waist, I’d be a dog for life, just to lick them once…”

Mil was a bit speechless; what exactly were these guys here to watch?

Is this the time to be looking at these things?

In the center of the training ground, the Chief Magician, with a gratified smile, softly recited:

“Miss Lilith, your grandfather Elibol was the greatest White Magician I have ever met, and I have received much inspiration from him on my path to seeking truth.”

“Thank you, I’m sure his spirit in heaven will also be pleased with the achievements you have made today.”

Lilith was a qualified noble lady; at least when speaking these polite words, she was sincere.

But the Chief Magician, Volk, sneered and shook his head:

“Heh heh, ‘spirit in heaven,’ you say? Miss Lilith, that’s rather amusing.”

“I’m sorry, I don’t understand what you mean.”

“It’s alright, come on! Let me see what level a student who has emerged from Sibyl Golden Hall possesses!”

“Please guide me.”

After speaking, Lilith gripped her magic staff and activated her third-tier magic stone.

Out of courtesy, Volk did not immediately make a move…

When sparring with a junior, it was naturally a matter of stopping at the right point; to a certain extent, it was merely standing there and taking hits, occasionally making some responses.

After all, there was a world of difference between a third-tier and an eighth-tier.

However, even so, Volk was still prepared to put on a show; seeing that Lilith was almost ready…

Volk raised his staff and gently tapped the ground—

“Boom—!”

A resonant hum, like a massive bell, echoed, and a giant magic circle unfolded on the ground, centered on the staff:

“Where starlight falls, there shall be the boundary, and time shall congeal into a monument.

Unclean bones, false shells, disintegrate in this twilight spiral.

By my arrogance as sacrifice, burn away the shackles of worldly karma…”

In an instant, the sky darkened, and seven-tenths of the dazzling sunlight vanished, as if invisible flames ignited the surroundings, their embers devouring the grass;

Black particles appeared in the air, gathering together, forming circles of waves around him…

Volk merely smiled faintly, politely raising his hand, as if pushing a perfectly mixed drink to a guest:

“Miss Lilith, try to break this.”

To be honest, if no one explained it, Mil wouldn’t understand at all.

“Oh my goodness! Miss Lilith’s movements are so elegant!”

“Her unhurried gesture of tucking her hair behind her ear is so cute!”

“Go, Teacher Volk! Use the updraft!”

Mil shook his head, sighing inwardly that these people were hopeless, thinking that the girls’ side should be much better…

So, he moved to a different viewing spot—

“Sister is so cool! Give me a chance!”

“Starting to fantasize again, being pinned down by Sister when passing the training ground, so helpless~”

“I’d rather be Mil’s adapter!”

There was nothing he could do; by the time Mil realized what he was hearing, it was too late.

After a long detour, Mil finally found a male teacher who seemed somewhat reliable…

“Oh… are you talking about Professor Volk’s magic? That’s a magic barrier created by using earth-attribute magic power to release fire-attribute magic.”

Mil instantly felt a lot of pressure. Was he going to kill this old man tomorrow night? Could he outsource it?

The teacher beside him patted Mil’s shoulder, reminding him:

“Look… Miss Lilith is making her move.”

Lilith spun her staff in front of her, raising it as if plucking a harp, sending out a row of starlight—

“Listen… to the prayers of the stars!

Let shattered heavens and scattered souls return to the cradle that nurtures all things.

The inscriptions of myths are reforged here, this body is the vessel to receive grace!

By the third full moon as a covenant, by the nine-star alignment as witness—

Shine brightly, the glory that rectifies the thrones of all heavens!”

Under Lilith’s feet, brilliant light rippled like ocean waves, and the burnt grass beneath her began to grow;

The sunlight pierced through the gloomy shroud, shining on her like a spotlight…

Golden snowflakes, sparkling with light and carrying the scent of morning dew, drifted down everywhere. Where they fell, scorched earth sprouted new green.

Volk’s magic circle began to waver, and even the staff in his hand gradually became uncontrollable…

“Crack—!”

Under everyone’s astonished gazes, the eighth-tier magic circle suddenly shattered.

At this moment, no one discussed Lilith’s beauty or figure anymore; instead, they were completely captivated by the miracle she had displayed.

Mil looked at the teacher beside him:

“How did she do that?”

“By using blessing magic to strengthen Volk’s defensive array, causing it to break through its critical balance… Is this what a once-in-a-millennium genius looks like?”

This teacher was very tall, with a deep, powerful voice, long black hair, and a red outer jacket.

“Most people wouldn’t think of this method?”

“Not only would they not think of it, even if they could, they would first have to be able to see through the flaws in Professor Volk’s magic circle.”

“Thank you…”

“You’ve found a very interesting companion, Mil.”
