The two walked through the corridor, passed through the main hall, and arrived at the chapel.
As soon as they entered, they saw two huge white statues standing on either side.
A thirty-meter-tall Holy Dragon statue looked down with lowered eyes, and the crystal dome refracted the moonlight into a cross-star.
"The one on the left should be the Holy Dragon? The one on the right is...holy moly?!"
Saying this, Mil suddenly widened his eyes, almost disbelieving what he saw:
"Ludofen, God of Absurd Deception?"
The moonlight shone through the skylight, illuminating Ludofen's statue. The enigmatic smile on his lips became even more distinct in the shadows, as if seeing through their disguise.
"Don't talk nonsense...In the eyes of the Dragon Race, Ludofen is the God of Light."
"Heh, that's so Ludofen..."
Mil sneered and shook his head helplessly.
Walking out of the chapel and passing through the garden, they arrived at the main building of the mansion.
It was already late, and most of the people in the mansion were asleep.
"What should we do? Look room by room? Can we roughly deduce where the master bedroom is?"
Looking at so many rooms, Mil had a headache, but Lilith shook her head and said:
"No need, the magic array's special focus point is Fafner's room."
Saying this, she pointed to the middle room on the third floor, then added:
"I won't go up. I'll circle around nearby. Be careful, there are two maids on duty at the room door. Go in through the window. You know the soundproofing magic, right?"
"Yes, no problem."
"Alright, if Fafner is willing to come out with you, just throw this shattered diamond on his bed. I'll wait for you at the agreed spot."
Lilith handed the last shattered diamond to Mil, then waved her hand:
"But if he doesn't accept your explanation and calls someone to catch you, I'll leave alone...Bye bye!"
After speaking, she walked towards the other side of the garden.
Mil, on the other hand, activated the wind magic stone and climbed up to the third floor, sticking close to the wall.
Then, he used a wire to pick the lock on the window, quietly pulled back the curtains, confirmed there was no one else in the room, and then jumped inside.
The evening breeze poured into the room, bringing a hint of coolness. Fafner squeezed his eyelids, still deeply immersed in sleep.
The gilded candelabra in the room had not yet burned out, and the beeswax solidified, winding along the dragon-shaped carvings.
Mil immediately cast the soundproofing magic, closed the window, and came to Fafner's bed.
Four silver-plated, hollow bedposts supported the white canopy. The ivy patterns entwined around the bedposts gleamed with a metallic cold light under the moonlight.
Fafner was deeply nestled in a pile of goose-down pillows, his silver hair spread out like a net woven from moonlight.
Mil illuminated the surroundings with cold flame, seeing Fafner's sleeping face, his long eyelashes gently fluttering, his delicate and pretty face, his fair and rosy skin...
For some reason, he felt like a flower thief?
Leaning over the bed, Fafner's body warmth and faint fragrance wafted over. He gently pushed his tender shoulder and called out:
"Fafner! Wake up!"
Fafner squeezed his eyelids, his long eyelashes slowly unfurling like butterfly wings. After seeing Mil's face, he was momentarily dazed...
Then he recoiled to the side:
"Mil...sir? You, how could you..."
Fafner rubbed his eyes, looked around, and confirmed that he was still in his own room before asking incredulously:
"How are you in my room?"
"I came to find you. Didn't you say you wanted to be a man like me? The maid is here, so it's inconvenient to say much to you. Come with me first!"
Saying this, Mil waved his hand and walked towards the window. Fafner, however, was full of doubt:
"Where are we going? It's so late!"
He turned to look at the room door, still hesitating in his heart, wondering if he should tell the maid?
But he quickly dismissed the idea. The maid would absolutely not allow Fafner to go out after 10 PM, and it was already one in the morning.
Because Mil couldn't lie here, he tried not to say too much, just urged him repeatedly:
"Don't ask so many questions. Do you want to live under their surveillance forever? Anything you want to say, we can talk outside. Just come back before dawn!"
"No, I can't leave..."
Fafner shook his head, his face filled with fear, gripping the quilt tightly.
"Don't worry, I've already prepared everything. Put this gem on your bed, then come with me. I guarantee you won't be discovered by them!"
Saying this, Mil threw the shattered diamond to Fafner.
Fafner examined the shattered diamond in his hand, his face full of surprise:
"What...is this?"
But he soon discovered that it was a magic inscription, and although it was made temporarily, its exquisite craftsmanship was breathtaking...
"Fafner! I've already gone this far, are you coming or not? Is this all the courage a Dragonborn man has?"
"I...this isn't a matter of courage, is it?"
"This is your only chance. Don't you want to be a man Alice looks up to? If you don't even dare to do this, you'll be a captive dragon your whole life!"
After speaking, Mil had already pulled back the curtains and placed his hand on the window handle;
He looked back and saw Fafner still sitting on the bed, clutching the quilt tightly, looking nervously at the room door.
"Someone who's going to be an adult in another month, can't even make this small decision? Hesitating, indecisive! If you don't want to go, just tell me directly!"
Facing Mil's urging, Fafner bit his lip gently, thinking of the head maid, the fear almost suffocating him...
Head maid Serena, a Sixth-rank Mage of the Saint Dragon Kingdom, was his royal father's most trusted close minister, and also one of the cardinals of the Pure Council;
Since Fafner could remember, he had never left the sight of the head maid—Serena.
Even when he slept, Serena would only leave after he was fully asleep; from childhood to adulthood, every word and action of his was managed by her.
If she found out that he had secretly snuck out...
The consequences would be unimaginable.
But then he thought that now there was an opportunity to escape her sight and go outside...
That inexplicable excitement made Fafner's blood instantly surge!
He looked at Mil, his gaze passing over Mil's shoulder, then looking at the night sky outside the window...
But then he was blocked by Mil's raised hand:
"Alright, I'll ask you one last time, three...two...one...!"
Fafner couldn't help but tremble all over, cold sweat soaking his back;
At this point, Fafner realized that the consequences of disobeying the maid made him lack even the courage to get out of bed.
Mil withdrew his last finger, sighed, and his eyes were filled only with disappointment:
"Alright, in that case...from now on, you don't need to have any designs on Alice anymore. You're not worthy."
After speaking, he prepared to open the window.
At this moment, Fafner finally spoke:
"Wait! I, I'll change my clothes..."
Saying this, he finally mustered the courage to get out of bed, but when he was about to take off his pajama bottoms, he looked at Mil with a blush:
"You...can you turn around?"
"No, you're a man, what are you afraid of when changing clothes?"
"I...I've never changed clothes in front of a man."
Mil was speechless, slapped his forehead, and shook his head in disappointment...
Fafner, however, gritted his teeth and said:
"I understand! You...don't leave!"
Fafner's bare feet stepped onto the Persian rug, his arch forming a graceful curve.
"At a time like this, you're still wearing women's clothes?"
"It's all your fault, my men's clothes aren't even in the room! Thankfully, this outfit wasn't taken by the maid..."
However, when Mil saw Fafner's slender and long legs, he still voluntarily turned his back...
Five minutes later, Fafner was brought out of the mansion by Mil. Mil breathed a sigh of relief, finally reuniting with Lilith.
Because they left in a hurry, Fafner wasn't wearing stockings, only a pair of short white socks and brown leather shoes, his two fair, straight legs trembling slightly in the night breeze...
With his slightly curly silver hair, he looked like a princess who had stepped out of a fairy tale.
