Chapter 9: talent

Inside the office, Zhu Tao stared at Su Yang with a strange expression.

Before, Su Yang had advised him to re-Cultivate his needlework, but now he wasn't advising re-Cultivation; he had directly changed it to Dual Cultivation.

“You, Su—”,

Su Yang’s face darkened, “Hm?”

“Su… Teacher, why do you insist on me learning needlework? I suspect your motives are impure!”

“You have Talent!” Su Yang said emphatically, “Talent related to needlework!”

“How did you find out?”

“I am a Teacher, good at observation,” Su Yang said without hesitation, “Although this is only our first day knowing each other, the moment I came into contact with you, I knew you had Talent related to needlework! This is a Teacher’s intuition!”

“Your fingers possess an extraordinary degree of flexibility!”

Zhu Tao was slightly taken aback and subconsciously looked down.

“…”

Su Yang’s mouth twitched; this kid was somewhat at odds with gambling and drugs.

He tapped on the table, and Su Yang’s face was serious, which made Zhu Tao come back to his senses, looking puzzled, “I’ve lived for sixteen years and never discovered any needlework Talent in myself; I haven’t even touched a needle and thread!”

Su Yang immediately chimed in, “Why don’t you try touching a needle and thread yourself?”

Zhu Tao naturally looked displeased, “Isn’t it shameful for a grown man like me to play with needles and thread!?”

No, his resistance was still too strong.

However, Su Yang was not in a hurry and said, “Then your next Cultivation will be this!”

“What!?”

“Take out your broken clothes from your dorm and mend them yourself.”

Martial Dao academies are all closed, and students live on campus, with only two days off a month, besides statutory holidays.

Zhu Tao’s eyes widened, “Isn’t this nonsense!? I don’t know how to sew clothes!”

“If you don’t know how, you can learn; there are plenty of tutorials online.” Su Yang frowned, “You have to keep your word! You kept saying you’d Cultivate according to my instructions, are you going back on your word!?”

“Alright, alright, I’ll sew!”

“I’ll come to your dorm to check once every evening!” To prevent this guy from throwing away all his torn clothes to be lazy, Su Yang immediately added, “If you don’t have torn clothes, it’s fine; I have plenty!”

“…” Zhu Tao said grumpily, “I have some.”

“That’ll do.” Su Yang waved his hand, “Alright, if there’s nothing else, you can go back. I’ll meditate to regulate my breathing. If anything comes up, just come to the office and call me.”

After Zhu Tao left the office unhappily, Su Yang shook his head helplessly.

He wasn't sure if the Cultivation task he set would be effective.

He just felt that with such a high degree of compatibility, there might be unexpected gains.

If not, he would try another method.

He would take it one step at a time.

He shook his head slightly, clearing his mind of distracting thoughts, then opened the timer on his phone. Su Yang began to meditate in the office, circulating his Qi to ensure his Qi circulated healthily every day.

Closing his eyes and relaxing his mind, Su Yang soon felt the Qi in his body, like a wisp of smoke, flowing through him.

The speed was neither fast nor slow.

It took about ten minutes to go from the lower Dantian, past the Baihui point on the top of his head, and then another ten minutes to reach the lowest Huiyin point before returning to the lower Dantian. Only then was a small heavenly cycle completed.

Opening his eyes, Su Yang stopped the timer. A small heavenly cycle took nearly half an hour, and he was drenched in sweat.

“Still unmoving…”

Su Yang smiled bitterly to himself; his Martial Dao Talent was truly unremarkable.

The national average for a small heavenly cycle was 21 minutes and 36 seconds.

He was seven minutes slower, another day of dragging down the national average.

He could only strive to teach his students well so that he could change his Heaven-Defying fate, marry a curvaceous Valkyrie, and return home in glory.

Su Yang was full of anticipation for the future and immediately opened his computer to look at the copied “Patching Heaven Embroidered Cloud Needle.” He needed to plan ahead for Zhu Tao’s needlework Cultivation and devise a reasonable and efficient training plan.

Unconsciously, it was already night.

The faculty dorms and student dorms at Third Martial Dao High School were all together, and they were all single rooms, providing a quiet environment for meditation and breathing regulation.

Most Martial Dao students would meditate and regulate their breathing to consolidate their training after returning to their dorms, but the students of Class Five were different; they would gather to play games together after returning to their dorms.

Cultivate?

Cultivate my ass!

The Fifth Class had forgotten when they last properly Cultivated.

They had long been knocked down by reality.

Others become braver with setbacks, getting up wherever they fall, but the Fifth Class would just lie there unmoving after falling.

Anyway, moving was useless.

Even with all the resources their Families poured into them, they were only at the Eighth Rank Martial Spirit Realm. They knew their own level and had long become Family outcasts; no one cared about them at all.

Instead of wasting time on Cultivation, it was better to enjoy life, play when they wanted to, and eat when they wanted to.

The Fifth Class gathered in Li Yiming’s dorm, playing games on their phones.

“Why isn’t Tao Zi here?”

“Next door, in his own dorm.”

“Why didn’t he come out to play with us?”

“He said he was in seclusion for Cultivation and told us to play by ourselves.”

Everyone stopped what they were doing, their faces strange.

“What did that Su fellow say to him in the office today?”

“I don’t know; he wouldn’t say.”

Li Yiming looked at the snack wrappers left by everyone, making the room incredibly messy. For a moment, he was furious and suddenly… handed over the trash can.

“Bro, the trash can is here.”

“Throw it here, throw it here.”

As the bottom of the food chain in Class Five, Li Yiming felt very aggrieved.

In terms of strength, he could at least rank in the top three in Class Five.

But in terms of Family background, he was the youngest and couldn’t afford to offend anyone; even if he got beaten, he could only swallow his anger.

Every gathering was held in his dorm, and afterward, they would leave trash everywhere.

Li Yiming had a clean freak and couldn’t stand littering the most, but he dared not speak his mind.

You all just wait for me!

Thirty years east of the river, thirty years west of the river!

Sooner or later, when my leg techniques reach Major Achievement, I will catch all the trash you throw out and never let a single piece of trash fall to the ground!

In the next dorm, Zhu Tao sat on a chair, holding a needle in his left hand and a thin thread in his right. A voice came from his phone in front of him: “Families, here’s a hand-sewing method anyone with hands can do! As we all know, common hand-sewing methods are divided into starting knot method, running stitch, backstitch, and finishing stitch…”

After Zhu Tao carefully watched the video tutorial, he sucked on the end of the thread and began to thread the needle.

There was almost no obstruction; he easily threaded the needle.

This was Zhu Tao’s first time attempting to mend clothes himself, and it went surprisingly smoothly. In just a few minutes, the torn part was not only mended, but if one didn’t look closely, they couldn’t even see any signs of mending.

He even… felt a strange sense of accomplishment.

“I thought it would be so difficult! It’s quite simple!”

“Wait a minute! That’s not right!”

Zhu Tao was late to realize, looking bewildered.

“What does sewing clothes have to do with concealed weapon needle techniques?”
