Chapter 203: Mysterious Man

“Luo Xi, you two go ahead and browse. I’ll come find you later.”

“Alright.”

Luo Xi didn’t ask what Chu Huaian was going to do, just nodded obediently.

After pushing through the crowd and searching a few streets, Chu Huaian finally found the Baixiao Pavilion’s shop.

Inside sat a middle-aged man. Upon seeing Chu Huaian, the man quickly stood up, cupped his hands, and said, “Li Yunzheng of Baixiao Pavilion greets Sect Master Chu.”

“You know me?” Chu Huaian frowned slightly.

The man smiled, pointed to a nearby seat, “Please sit.”

Chu Huaian stared at the man, a hint of killing intent flashing in his eyes.

The man seemed not to perceive Chu Huaian’s killing intent. He calmly sat down in his seat and then spoke:

“Sect Master Chu, there’s no need to be hostile towards Baixiao Pavilion. Baixiao Pavilion has not leaked any information about the Hua Xia Sect.”

“Of course, if Baixiao Pavilion can investigate it, other sects naturally can too. It’s just a matter of time.”

“As expected of the Tianxuan Continent’s top intelligence organization. I’ve finally witnessed it today.”

Chu Huaian calmly sat down. He wasn’t surprised that Baixiao Pavilion could investigate information about the Hua Xia Sect, he just didn’t expect it to be so quick.

“What brings Sect Master Chu here?”

“I want to inquire about someone.”

“Who?”

“Ouyang Zi.”

Hearing this name, the man pondered for a moment before speaking, “Finding him isn’t difficult, but you might be a little disappointed.”

“What do you mean?” Chu Huaian showed a puzzled expression.

“Twenty years ago, a Refining Void Realm cultivator wanted him to help repair an Emperor Artifact, but he flatly refused.”

“What happened then?”

“That night, his cultivation was crippled, and all the meridians in his four limbs were severed.”

“Was it that Refining Void Realm cultivator?”

The man nodded in agreement, but did not reveal any information about this Refining Void Realm cultivator.

Chu Huaian pondered for a while, then said, “Where is Ouyang Zi now?”

“He’s in the capital, most likely on Baili Street.”

“Thank you.” Chu Huaian stood up and took out several hundred high-grade spirit stones from his storage ring, placing them on the table.

“If Sect Master Chu is willing to befriend me, please take them back.”

Chu Huaian raised his eyes and looked at the man. The other party met his gaze without evasion.

“Farewell.” Chu Huaian put away the spirit stones on the table and strode away.

The man watched his departing back and murmured, “It seems Baixiao Pavilion still underestimated this Sect Master of the Hua Xia Sect…”

On the street, Luo Xi led Xia Ling strolling leisurely through the crowd. Both held a string of candied hawthorns. Wherever they walked, many people would stop and watch.

Luo Xi’s appearance was as exquisite as a painting, and coupled with her ethereal temperament, she could even rival the Saintesses of those top sects.

As they passed a jewelry shop, Luo Xi’s eyes lit up, and she led Xia Ling inside.

Inside the shop were various dazzling jade articles and gold jewelry.

Luo Xi scanned the surroundings, picked out a hairpin, and squatted down, looking at Xia Ling, “Xia Ling, do you think this jade hairpin looks good?”

“Mmm, it looks good,” Xia Ling said indistinctly while eating her candied hawthorn.

“Then Big Sister will buy it, and you can give it to your Master, okay?”

“Big Sister, why don’t you give it yourself?” Xia Ling looked at Luo Xi curiously with her bright eyes.

“Because Big Sister is an adult, giving gifts easily leads to misunderstandings. You are Xian Ge’s direct disciple, so it’s perfectly legitimate.”

Xia Ling blinked her big eyes twice, a little confused, but still nodded, “Okay then.”

After saying that, she added, “Big Sister, I want a gift too.”

Luo Xi found it somewhat amusing and rubbed her little head as she stood up.

It was then that she noticed many people in the shop secretly looking over.

Luo Xi was already accustomed to such gazes and didn’t pay much attention, taking the jade hairpin to the counter.

“How much is this?”

The person responsible for collecting money was a young woman. From the moment Luo Xi entered the shop, her gaze had been fixed on Luo Xi.

“Immortaless, this jade hairpin costs one thousand taels of silver.”

“Do you think these are enough?”

Luo Xi took out all her loose silver and handed it to the woman.

Looking at the loose silver in her hand, the woman’s expression clearly paused, revealing a strange look.

“Miss, please don’t joke. You only have ten taels of silver…”

“Is that so…”

Luo Xi didn’t know how silver was converted. Finding it wasn’t enough, she was about to ask if she could buy it with spirit stones when a young man in noble brocade clothes, holding a paper fan, walked over.

“I, this Young Master, will purchase this young lady’s jade hairpin on her behalf.”

The young man threw a bag of silver onto the table, then cupped his hands towards Luo Xi and said, “I am Yang Yi, the eldest son of the Great Qian Dynasty’s Left Prime Minister. May I ask for the young lady’s esteemed name?”

Luo Xi didn’t respond, but instead looked at the counter woman and softly asked, “May I purchase it with spirit stones?”

The woman nodded slightly, “Yes, you can. It’s one thousand low-grade spirit stones.”

Hearing this price, Luo Xi’s eyes showed hesitation.

It wasn’t that she was reluctant to part with the spirit stones, but rather that she felt this jade hairpin was a bit too cheap.

The man saw that the other party was ignoring him, and his expression became somewhat unnatural. He spoke again, “Miss, may I get to know you?”

Luo Xi acted as if she hadn’t heard him. She took out a high-grade spirit stone from her storage ring, placed it on the table, then picked up the jade hairpin and prepared to leave.

“Miss, I’m speaking to you, yet you are so rude. Isn’t that a bit arrogant?”

The man blocked Luo Xi’s path, a hint of anger on his face.

As the son of the Great Qian Dynasty’s Left Prime Minister, a person of great prominence, he had today encountered someone who ignored him. This made him extremely embarrassed.

Especially with the strange looks from others in the shop, his self-esteem felt wounded, and his face burned.

“Please move aside,” Luo Xi said indifferently.

“What if I don’t?” The man dropped his gentle demeanor and revealed a domineering expression.

However, no sooner had his words fallen than the entire person suddenly clutched his neck, struggling violently, suspended in mid-air.

Luo Xi and Xia Ling sensed something and looked towards the shop entrance.

They saw a middle-aged man wearing a black robe and with long red hair slowly walk into the shop.

Bang—

The young man in mid-air suddenly exploded. What was bizarre was that there wasn’t a single drop of blood at the scene; the young man seemed to have vanished into thin air.

Everyone in the shop’s pupils dilated in shock. They wanted to scream but tightly covered their mouths, cowering in corners, not daring to make a sound, fearing they would invite disaster.

To dare kill the Left Prime Minister’s eldest son in the capital, one must either be insane or have an incredibly powerful background.

The red-haired man took a step, and he was already in front of Luo Xi, carefully observing Luo Xi and Xia Ling.

“Who are you?” Luo Xi shielded Xia Ling behind her, frowning at the red-haired man.

The man didn’t speak, but with a casual wave, the three of them vanished from their original spot.

When they reappeared, they were already inside a pavilion.

“Big Sister, this person is so powerful…” Xia Ling tugged at Luo Xi’s hand, saying timidly.

Luo Xi was about to open her virtual interface to notify Chu Huaian when she heard the middle-aged man’s voice.

“If you don’t want Chu Huaian to die here, you’d best stop what you’re doing.”

The middle-aged man sat calmly on a stone chair, his fingers gently tapping the stone table, a thoughtful look in his eyes.

Luo Xi’s body stiffened. She silently lowered her finger and, taking Xia Ling, sat directly opposite the man, her gaze fixed on him.

The person before her gave her a very dangerous feeling. Even if she and Xia Ling teamed up, it would be impossible to escape from here.

Luo Xi trusted her intuition, so she did not act rashly.
