Chapter 107: Make trouble

As Chen Bugu pulled the Rapid Wind Dagger from the brain of a monster, he saw a dark shadow flash overhead.

It was Master Fran, wielding a warhammer.

Master Fran leaped over Chen Bugu and the others, jumping straight down the city wall.

Chen Bugu had intended to follow to check the situation, but he was pulled back by Old Zhou, who had arrived at some unknown time.

“You brat, what are you trying to do? Are you tired of living?”

“Kings fight kings, generals fight generals. Mind your own business and don’t cause trouble!”

Old Zhou pulled Chen Bugu back, then continued to kill the monsters on one side.

Chen Bugu stood still, looking at where Master Fran’s figure had disappeared.

There, he saw a large amount of fire elemental energy converging downwards.

Immediately after, a pillar of molten lava, thirty to forty meters high, erupted from below the city wall, soaring straight into the sky.

The pillar of fire connected to the heavens, lasting for dozens of breaths before disappearing, heating even the air around it.

Han Badou’s surprised voice once again appeared in Chen Bugu’s mind.

“Eight-Star monster, life signs… gone.”

Master Fran leaped back onto the wall, dragging the corpse of a monster with two horns on its head, cursing loudly with a bad temper.

“What the hell are you all standing around for? Smash those monsters’ heads in for me!”

At this moment, everyone looked at the unkempt Dwarf and the Eight-Star monster corpse in his hand, feeling encouraged, with battle intent surging in their chests.

“Kill!”

Morale was Ignited, and everyone recommitted to the battle.

Seeing this, Master Fran casually tossed the corpse onto the city wall and then rushed towards another direction.

Chen Bugu merely glanced at it and no longer paid attention.

Since Fran could be the leader of the Dwarf, he must have the strength to kill a Black Iron Eight-Star, but that last move, the lava ground fire that erupted from the ground, was probably not a skill he could use at will.

Although Master Fran had a short temper, his mind was far more meticulous than imagined.

He did not hesitate to use a killing move to instantly kill the Eight-Star monster, clearly to boost morale.

After all, in a large-scale war, something as intangible as morale is extremely important.

A single rush can be sustained, but then it wanes, and by the third, it is exhausted!

This battle had just begun, and morale at this point was especially crucial!

Chen Bugu continued to use Jade Ripple to pick off the lower-level monsters around him.

Although the energy these low-level monsters could provide was merely a drop in the bucket for the Seven-Star Chen Bugu.

But he still transformed into an emotionless archery machine, countless arrows flying from his hands, killing one monster after another.

However, as more and more people were forced into close-quarters combat, the monsters’ path to the city wall became almost unobstructed.

Soon, with Black Iron Five-Star and Black Iron Six-Star monsters ascending the city wall, the pressure on the Awakened side drastically increased, and casualties began to appear frequently.

An Awakened’s entire body was cut in half by a Six-Star one-armed blade demon.

His upper body fell to the ground, intestines mixed with internal organs scattered everywhere, and the light in his eyes quickly extinguished.

On the city wall, severed limbs flew, and no one cared if there was a warm corpse at their feet, blood splattered the ground, then was immediately covered by gunpowder smoke and evaporated by the flames of war.

Wails and moans were drowned out by roars and howls.

A completely black White-Haired Demonic Ape leaped onto the city wall and, turning around, punched away a Five-Star Awakened from the Unyielding Hall.

Although that Awakened had quickly assumed a defensive stance, everyone still heard a “crack.”

Then, the Awakened’s body flew heavily outwards, his arms hanging limply in the air, clearly both broken.

However, what was even more despairing was that the Awakened was knocked off the city wall, his body and screams instantly swallowed by the monster horde.

The White-Haired Demonic Ape was already an elite monster among Black Iron Six-Star, and with the “Demonization” effect, its strength was now even higher.

Seeing the White-Haired Demonic Ape’s ferocity, like entering an uninhabited land, killing several people in the blink of an eye, Old Zhou quickly met it in battle.

He wore Mysterious Iron Knuckle Dusters on both hands, launching attacks with his Gravity ability.

The monster stood still, its legs suddenly sinking strangely into the ground, as if bearing immense pressure.

Old Zhou seized the opportunity, leaped into the air, and threw several punches consecutively, each one accurately hitting the White-Haired Demonic Ape’s chest.

After the set was finished, the monster’s chest caved in, and it retreated several steps.

However, the demonized White-Haired Demonic Ape seemed to feel no pain at all; after a roar, its sharp claws gleamed with cold light, and it attacked again.

Seeing this, Old Zhou’s knuckle dusters on both fists glowed faintly; instead of retreating, he advanced, clashing with the White-Haired Demonic Ape.

The faintly glowing knuckle dusters met the White-Haired Demonic Ape’s sharp claws, instantly creating countless sparks.

Old Zhou’s eyes were shrouded in blue light, instantly changing the White-Haired Demonic Ape’s own Gravity.

The White-Haired Demonic Ape’s legs sank again, and in this strange situation, its movements unconsciously slowed by a beat.

“Die!”

Old Zhou seized the opportunity, assumed a horse stance, bent forward, and his fists became a series of afterimages, continuously striking downwards at the White-Haired Demonic Ape’s knees.

Under the continuous bombardment of the Mysterious Iron Knuckle Dusters, the White-Haired Demonic Ape’s knees were injured, it lost its balance, and instantly knelt down.

Old Zhou raised his hands above his head, the storage ring on his hand flashed faintly, the knuckle dusters disappeared, replaced by a large saber.

The saber drew a crescent moon, heavy as a thousand jun, with Gravity applied to the saber, Old Zhou powerfully chopped downwards.

The White-Haired Demonic Ape instinctively raised its arms and crossed them to block in front.

The blade sank into flesh, from an initial unstoppable force to a gradual stalemate.

Old Zhou gritted his teeth, gathering all his strength, pressing the saber down, but it remained impossible to advance even an inch.

The moment the saber sank into the flesh, he observed that the monster in front of him had once again tensed its already exaggerated muscles, clamping his saber tightly.

If it were peacetime, even in such a stalemate, the battle situation would still be favorable to Old Zhou, because no matter whether this saber strike could kill the White-Haired Demonic Ape, the damage it caused would be enough to secure victory.

However, at this moment, it was on a rapidly changing battlefield…

“Old Zhou! Be careful!”

He heard a shout from an unknown source.

Before he could even process the meaning of the words, he felt himself enveloped by a shadow.

With his vast experience, Old Zhou immediately understood his current predicament; without even raising his head, he tried to pull out his saber and retreat.

However, even with all his strength, the saber wouldn’t come out.

The White-Haired Demonic Ape’s muscles tensed, not only preventing his saber from cutting down any further but also making it impossible to withdraw.

He seemed to see a cunning smile on the monster’s face, so he immediately prepared to abandon the saber and retreat.

However, it was too late; he already felt a strong gust of wind assailing him from above.

Through the reflection on the saber, he could even see the bits of flesh clinging to the fangs of another White-Haired Demonic Ape above him.

A second one!

The opponent was above him, so the Gravity ability could not be used.

Old Zhou realized he couldn’t dodge this attack, so he could only cross his arms and raise them, slightly bending his legs, assuming a defensive posture with all his might.

It was ironic; at this moment, his posture was exactly the same as the White-Haired Demonic Ape under his saber a second ago.

However, just as Old Zhou looked up, prepared to withstand this move at the cost of severe injury, he was shocked by the scene before him.

At this moment, the world before him seemed to stop; he only saw an energy arrow, spiraling with blue and green light, suddenly appear above his head.

The strong wind generated by this arrow had already torn the skin of the White-Haired Demonic Ape above him; a trace of dark red blood flowed from the monster’s face.

The White-Haired Demonic Ape also seemed to sense the danger, instinctively tensing all its muscles in mid-air.

However, it was useless.

The next second, a sonic boom sounded, and the energy arrow disappeared.

Along with it, the White-Haired Demonic Ape above also vanished.

A young and familiar voice sounded in his ear.

“Old Zhou, I hope I didn’t cause you any trouble…”
