Chapter 1: System Activation

In Jiangbei City, inside a speeding police car.

“Oh my god, is this really the new police officer assigned to our station this year?”

Li Chengming, gripping the steering wheel, glanced at the man in the passenger seat, swallowed hard, his shock utterly unconcealed.

But he couldn’t be blamed for making a fuss; it was just that the new officer in the passenger seat of the police car was… truly… too burly.

At two meters thirty tall, he sat like a small mountain in the passenger seat, completely filling the otherwise spacious area.

“Tiger back, bear waist” wasn’t enough to describe his bulk; his upper body’s explosive muscles strained his short-sleeved shirt, and the thick veins winding on his exposed, brawny arms looked like small snakes.

Add to that his bristly, inch-long hair and fierce, malevolent eyes.

He genuinely looked like a supreme villain straight out of a movie, exuding an air of utter depravity with every gesture, making one feel immense pressure.

The man noticed Li Chengming’s sidelong glance, lifted his head from his contemplation, and instinctively bared his teeth in a smile at him.

My goodness!

Seeing that ferocious smile, Li Chengming’s scalp tingled with fright, his hand trembled, and he nearly drove the police car into the median strip.

Good heavens!

The station chief told him to pick up this year’s new police officer, but he ended up picking up an outlaw, didn’t he?

With such an uncontainable appearance, was he serious about being a police officer!?

Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, Li Chengming composed himself, deciding it was better to drive carefully; another peek at his new colleague beside him would surely lead to a crash.

Su Ming sat in the passenger seat of the police car, looking at his senior brother, who was picking him up, sweating profusely, feeling somewhat puzzled.

The air conditioning in the car was clearly blowing plenty of cold air, so why was he sweating so much?

“Brother Ming, have some water! Are you very hot?”

Su Ming picked up an unopened bottle of Pulse from the car door side, unscrewed the cap, and handed it to him.

Li Chengming looked at the large, veiny, muscular hand before him, and swallowed several mouthfuls of saliva.

A bottle of Pulse, which an ordinary person could only half-grip, looked miniature and delicate like a small oral solution bottle when contrasted with this bear-like paw.

“Cough, cough, cough… You drink, you drink, I’m not thirsty.”

He quickly waved his hand, indicating he wasn’t thirsty, feigning composure with a couple of light coughs to ease the awkwardness, and casually asked, “Cough, you’re Su Ming, right?”

Seeing Su Ming nod, Li Chengming continued playfully, “Su Ming, what’s wrong? Are you unhappy about being assigned to our station? You’ve seemed preoccupied the whole way.”

Su Ming rubbed his face hard with both hands, the gloom in his eyes flashing away.

Although weeks had passed, the anger in his heart flared up uncontrollably whenever he recalled the events of those days.

Although it was said that “gathered, they are a fire; scattered, they are a police station,” that was true for most police academy students.

As the most outstanding graduate of the entire Jiangbei Police Academy, Su Ming not only excelled in his major but also, thanks to his terrifying physical prowess, almost swept all first-place awards in various national physical fitness competitions during his four years of university.

Not to mention various provincial certificates, he even won so many national trophies that his hands were sore.

Before graduation, he had already been pre-selected by the Provincial Public Security Department, and a certain big shot personally arranged a plum position for him, vowing to cultivate Su Ming well. It could be said that a bright future was within his grasp.

But when the final assignment list came out, Su Ming was surprisingly assigned to a police station, becoming an ordinary junior police officer.

And his original position had gone to someone else.

To say there was no foul play involved would be like saying two moons hang in the sky.

And Su Ming was well aware of the reason.

He had offended someone.

He had offended a second-generation official named Wang Ziheng.

His father was not only a powerful figure in the province, but all his relatives also held high positions in Jiangbei City. The Wang family was prominent, and not to mention the small Jiangbei Police Academy, even the entire Jiangbei City knew of the Wang family.

Wang Ziheng, as the only son of the family, was put into Jiangbei Police Academy by his father, and both he and Su Ming were in the criminal investigation major.

During his time at the police academy, he relied on his father’s influence to act like a tyrant, doing all sorts of bad things, and even harming countless women.

One night, nearing graduation, a drunk Wang Ziheng was about to rape a female student named Liu Ruyan in a police academy classroom.

But Su Ming, who happened to pass by, discovered him and directly subdued Wang Ziheng.

The police academy leaders, who rushed to the scene after hearing the news, also took it very seriously and immediately separated the individuals to inquire about the situation.

However, to their surprise, in just over ten minutes, the roles had completely reversed.

In the conference room, Liu Ruyan changed her story to the police academy leaders, claiming that she was almost raped, but the perpetrator was not Wang Ziheng, but Su Ming, and that the injured Wang Ziheng was hurt while trying to stop Su Ming’s violent acts.

The story of the farmer and the snake was truly playing out in reality!

The drastic shift in identity left Su Ming utterly stunned on the spot.

Liu Ruyan’s accusation, in his view, was utter nonsense; it couldn’t withstand scrutiny, neither logically nor based on the scene’s situation.

But precisely such a childish distortion of facts was what the police academy’s high-ranking officials chose to believe.

And the only classroom surveillance that could prove his innocence was claimed to have coincidentally malfunctioned and not been recording.

Su Ming knew then that Wang Ziheng’s father had made a move, not just to protect Wang Ziheng, but also to crush him for hurting his precious son.

Otherwise, how could such a case have such a drastic reversal in just over ten minutes?

To solidify the case, the police academy leadership, despite Su Ming’s protests, made the decision overnight to expel him from the academy.

They even intended to transfer him to the Public Security Bureau to pursue criminal charges against Su Ming for attempted rape.

In the end, it was a classmate of Su Ming’s who asked her father, who also held a high position, to intervene in the matter, which made the police academy leaders hesitant and prevented Su Ming from being transferred to the Public Security Bureau.

However, they still gave Su Ming a major demerit on his record for assaulting a classmate.

With this disciplinary action, Su Ming’s original bright future naturally vanished, and his graduation assignment, like that of an ordinary police academy student, was to a grassroots police station.

Recalling the humiliation he suffered during those days, Su Ming’s expression turned cold, and the anger in his heart was like a boiling volcano, wishing he could tear apart those despicable people who twisted facts!

Wang Ziheng, and his father behind him, Su Ming would never let them off. Given the chance, he would personally send them to prison.

And that day wouldn’t be long in coming!

Taking a deep breath, Su Ming suppressed his anger, pursed his lips, and glanced at the countdown for the system activation in his mind.

That’s right, not long ago, Su Ming had obtained a career assistance system, but it hadn’t been activated yet, remaining in a countdown state.

Logically speaking, since it was a career assistance system, and he was currently a probationary police officer, the system he would receive should be a Police God System, or a Detective System, or a police-related system of that sort.

Su Ming was full of confidence; with the aid of a suitable system, not to mention his current status as a formal police officer, even as an auxiliary police officer, he would be able to achieve merits at an incredible rate.

Rising through the ranks would be no problem at all, and then he would never let those beasts off the hook.

He glanced at the countdown; the system was set to activate in one minute. Su Ming felt a little excited, and the gloom in his eyes was dispelled by anticipation.

Looking at Li Chengming, who was in the driver’s seat with a concerned expression, Su Ming suppressed his excitement and said with a smile, “It’s nothing, Brother Ming, I’m just a little nervous.”

“Nervous about what! Everyone at our station is pretty nice, very easy to get along with…”

Li Chengming naturally didn’t think much of it, assuming Su Ming’s gloomy expression earlier was genuinely due to nervousness, and couldn’t help but smile reassuringly.

Su Ming nodded without speaking further, focusing intently on the single-digit countdown displayed in his mind.

....

Three

Two

One

Zero

As the countdown ended.

A series of crisp mechanical sounds echoed in his mind.

“Ding! Career Assistance System activated…..”

“Acquiring host identity and profession starting…..”

“Profession compatibility scan failed!”

“Initiating host scan, automatically matching the best profession suitable for the host.”

Host: Su Ming

Age: 22 years old

Height: 230CM

Weight: 192kg

Arm Span: 228cm

Muscle Ratio…

Various data flashed quickly in Su Ming’s mind, evidently his physical details.

A series of dinging mechanical sounds continued incessantly, as if something had gone wrong, failing to recognize his police identity.

Su Ming anxiously watched the flickering scan countdown on the system panel.

But soon, with a “ding,” the system’s mechanical prompt sounded again.

“Match successful!”

“Host’s best profession: Hooligan.”

“Ding! Hooligan System activated successfully!”

“Congratulations to the host for obtaining the Hooligan System.”

He was best suited to become a hooligan?

And what was this “Hooligan System” that had activated?

Su Ming looked at Li Chengming, dressed in a police uniform in the driver’s seat, then looked at himself in the rearview mirror—large, burly, and exuding a bandit-like aura.

He was completely dumbfounded.

I’m a police officer! Why did it give me a Hooligan System?!

Are you kidding me!
