Chapter 15: You're peeking, right?

“That concludes today’s class. Class dismissed.”

Scattered applause, rustling footsteps, and an instant burst of chatter immediately filled a classroom at Rongcheng Medical College.

Su Tianqing stretched herself, and when the classroom was almost empty, she looked at Nan Jiayu, who was still taking notes beside her.

The scoundrel Fox Fox wagged her tail and quietly leaned close to the petite Cat Girl’s face, looking at the dense notes in the book.

“Oh, Jia Yu, you’re writing so diligently.”

“Mm… yes… This course feels very difficult to learn… so I have to work twice as hard…”

The Cat Girl was diligently taking notes, completely unaware that the little fox beside her had already crept up. She only felt a faint, elusive fragrance lingering around her nose.

Good opportunity!

“Meow?!”

The scoundrel Fox Fox sat back in her seat, looking satisfied.

Actually, Jia Yu wasn’t much taller than herself; the difference of half a head was only about ten centimeters. Their body types weren’t too different, and compared to normal Cat Beastkin, she was still considered a small cat.

“Don’t suddenly lean in! At least, at least tell me first!” Nan Jiayu said awkwardly.

“Next time, for sure.”

Su Tianqing didn’t quite understand why she suddenly wanted to lean in and ‘pet’ the cat. In the end, she could only attribute it to her Foxkin instincts.

Perhaps it was because she was in a very good mood today.

Not only had she filmed a new video, but she had also thought of new ways to stir up trouble, and even managed to help the previously dejected Hyacinth regain her spirit. Now, the daily tasks and video material for tomorrow and the day after were all taken care of.

It must be because Jia Yu brought her good luck!

.

The afternoon class was Human Anatomy.

Su Tianqing didn’t find this course difficult at all.

After all, she had been a doctor for so many years in her previous life. When it came to anatomical knowledge, if not a top master, she was at least a high-level expert. Dealing with university exams was a breeze.

But Nan Jiayu didn’t feel the same way.

“Ugh… I envy Tianqing so much… You can remember such difficult anatomical structures just by looking at them once…”

During dinner, in a corner of the cafeteria, the Cat Girl’s wails echoed once again.

She was using the opportunity of eating to browse an anatomy app on her phone, currently questioning how she even managed to get into medical college.

“My best skill is memory, hmph hmph.”

Fox Fox grinned, patting her with her tail to comfort her, while spooning small mouthfuls of food into her mouth.

“But Jia Yu, you’re already working very hard. As long as you persevere, you’ll definitely get a good grade.”

“Wuwu… Thank you…”

The Cat Girl’s ears and tail drooped, her expression brightened slightly, and she put her phone to sleep, continuing to bury her head in her food.

“If you have anything you don’t understand later, Jia Yu, you can ask me. I’m quite confident.”

“Really?”

“Of course!” Fox Fox confidently puffed out her chest, but the shallow rise and fall were hardly convincing.

What a joke! Ben Hu was a genuine doctor in her previous life! She had supervised at least fifteen, if not twenty, interns. This basic medical knowledge was simply a piece of cake!

After a few more casual chats, both of their attention was drawn to the cafeteria television.

It was normal for university cafeterias to have televisions. During meal times, news programs would be broadcast, allowing students to pass the time slightly when their hands were busy eating and they couldn’t play with their phones.

At this moment, the television was broadcasting the evening program:

“Today’s Evening News.”

“According to the official spokesperson for the Hero Association, three school attack incidents occurred consecutively during the day today. The attackers have been identified as the recently active new Magic Girl, Xin Yuehu.”

“The attacker posted attack announcements on video websites. All incidents resulted in no casualties, and estimated losses are still being calculated.”

“According to reliable intelligence, Magic Girl Hyacinth, who is still on vacation, participated in the interception at Rong City Third Middle School and successfully repelled Xin Yuehu.”

“Our station will continue to follow up on the report.”

The chopsticks in both their hands paused in mid-air simultaneously, just like most students in the cafeteria who saw the TV news.

It wasn’t until that news item was replaced that a lively discussion erupted among the crowd.

“Hyacinth participated in the interception?”

“Isn’t she still on vacation, and the day before yesterday she…”

“She seems to have fully recovered her vitality, even able to repel Fox Fox.”

“Fox Fox? Are you a Fox fan too?”

The discussion was very heated.

From the reactions of the people around her, Su Tianqing gathered this information.

After the morning’s events, her anonymous account’s follower count had grown rapidly. She estimated it would break three thousand in the next two days, which was an incredible rate of growth.

“What are they talking about, Jia Yu, do you know?” Feigning ignorance, Fox Fox poked the Nan Jiayu beside her with her tail and asked in a low voice.

The Cat Girl froze for a moment, then turned to look at Fox Fox, who was blinking her clear, watery green eyes.

“Hmm?… Oh, it’s a very famous Magic Girl streamer recently. She’s a Foxkin just like Tianqing, and she’s quite popular.”

“She’s a Foxkin just like me… Ah…”

Su Tianqing was silent for a while, as if contemplating something.

This inexplicable silence, however, sounded a bit like jealousy to Nan Jiayu’s ears.

Oh no, could Tianqing think that she was secretly watching other Foxkin?

The Cat Girl ate nervously.

She didn’t want to lose this friend—or rather, Tianqing was the best friend she had made in all these years.

Nan Jiayu had almost no friends, and even if she did, they would quickly part ways because she was a Beastkin, making her personality increasingly isolated and gloomy.

But Su Tianqing was different.

She was a Beastkin just like herself, but she was not only sunny and cheerful, but also gentle in nature, and very strong in learning ability!

And she was very cute!

But even such a person seemed to have the common flaw of Foxkin: possessiveness.

Should I explain that I only coincidentally started following this Xin Yuehu yesterday, otherwise…

“Jia Yu.”

“Eh eh? Is something wrong?”

“I want to ask you something, can you answer me?”

“What, what question?”

Nan Jiayu felt like she was facing a love triangle.

How should she answer?

Should she honestly admit that she was following another Fox Fox streamer, or quietly pretend she knew nothing?

But the question the little fox asked was completely unexpected.

“We don’t have class the day after tomorrow afternoon, right? Jia Yu, are you free that day?”

“I am, but I have to tutor my sister in the evening, so… so…”

“It’s okay! We can go play in the city center!”

The suddenly excited Fox Fox said,

“How about it, how about it! Jia Yu, have you been to Green Heart Park? The environment there is really nice!”

“Ah ah… Good, good, of course.”

Nan Jiayu sighed in relief, feeling a sense of escaping death.

But then the Cat Girl reacted.

Inviting her out to play?

Just the two of them?

Nan Jiayu thought for a while, seemingly realizing something.
