Chapter 51: Dream scenery

Nan Xiaofeng opened her eyes in a daze.

She was in the living room of her home, leaning against the sofa, as if just waking from a nap.

Outside the French windows, the dull glow of the setting sun shone on the curtains, and a ray of golden light streamed through the gaps, making her a little dizzy.

This is my home?

Wasn't I fighting a Monster by the lotus pond? Why did I suddenly...

Is it a dream again?

“Xiaofeng—, Xiaofeng?”

“Pat, pat.”

A soft touch came from her hand.

Nan Xiaofeng turned her head and met the gaze of the little Fox Fox sitting beside her, tilting her head and looking at her.

The Fox Fox's emerald eyes were bright and clear, and her two fluffy Fox Fox ears twitched slightly, her face full of curiosity.

“Tianqing Jie…” Nan Xiaofeng murmured, “How did you get to my house?… Today was clearly…”

“You must be half-asleep. Didn't Tianqing move into our house a long time ago?”

The deep blue Cat Girl poked her head out from behind the little Fox Fox, saying with a puzzled expression.

A strong sense of unreality washed over her from the depths of her mind, and the figures of the two people in front of her blurred. Nan Xiaofeng couldn't help but cover her head.

No, something's wrong.

She was dreaming.

But why would she dream of Tianqing Jie and Jiayu Jie? And why would they...

As if in response to Nan Xiaofeng's thoughts, the Cat Girl's figure became much clearer, and the words she spoke gradually became distinct:

“This child… she's really half-asleep…” Nan Jiayu sighed helplessly and shook her head.

“It's okay, Xiaofeng has been tired all day, so it's normal for her to rest for a while.”

The little Fox Fox said with a smile, her soft, fluffy tail continuing to pat Nan Xiaofeng, as if comforting her.

“Do you feel better? If you're still sleepy, go to the bedroom to sleep. We'll call you when dinner is ready.”

Nan Xiaofeng felt her consciousness seemed to drift slightly, gradually sinking into that soft tail.

Even in a dream, the touch of this tail was so wonderful.

—This dream doesn't seem so bad, after all. Nan Xiaofeng thought.

In her dream, she could comfortably doze on the sofa at home, with the lovely little angel Tianqing Jie by her side, and even bicker a few words with Jiayu Jie.

It was simply a dream within a dream!

Such a leisurely and carefree life… how long had it been since she had experienced it?

“Then… why did Tianqing Jie move into my house?”

Following the dream, Nan Xiaofeng stroked the little Fox Fox's tail and asked.

“Oh, well…”

The little Fox Fox's cheeks flushed slightly, and she looked shyly at Nan Jiayu, who had stood up and was preparing to walk to the kitchen.

The Cat Girl looked back at Nan Xiaofeng, put her hands on her hips, and showed a rather strange expression:

“Xiaofeng, you're completely not awake, are you?”

“Tianqing Jie and I have been married for so long, and you can still ask such a question?”

Silence.

Dumbfounded.

Shock.

Nan Xiaofeng stared blankly at the little Fox Fox, who was blushing and rushing forward to punch her with her small fists, and then stared blankly as Jiayu Jie laughed and ran into the kitchen.

…Although she vaguely knew this was a dream, this dream was a little too strange.

Tianqing Jie and Jiayu Jie married?

Married??

They, the two of them… married???

Nan Xiaofeng didn't know what expression to use to describe this bizarre dream at this moment.

But she felt—this was quite nice too.

Laughter and the sound of stir-frying came from the kitchen.

The fragrant scent of dinner lingered in her nostrils.

Nan Xiaofeng leaned silently on the sofa, staring blankly at the TV.

The TV was showing her favorite Magic Girl anime: the protagonist fiercely blew up the evil Monster with her magic wand, exploding into a brilliant starlight.

Everything was so peaceful and beautiful.

Just like that fluffy tail, making one want to sink into it forever.

Could she really have such a dream?

She had Jiayu Jie accompanying her, and the charming and lovely Tianqing Jie.

A harmonious and happy family, a leisurely and peaceful holiday. Was this the life she had always dreamed of?

“…Ah, ah.”

“If only this wasn't a dream.” The girl murmured to herself.

“Dong dong dong!”

A loud knock on the door suddenly came.

Nan Xiaofeng looked at the door, not wanting to open it.

But a strange force pulled her up, and she stepped towards the door.

“…Ah, Xiaofeng, are you leaving?”

A small Golden Fox head poked out from the kitchen, smiling sweetly and waving lightly,

“Be careful on your way~ If you want to come back, I, your sister, welcome you anytime.”

“Tianqing Jie…”

The last thing Nan Xiaofeng saw was the sweet smile of the Golden Fox.

Just as she was about to subconsciously wave goodbye, everything in front of her broke off like a snapped thread.

The girl woke up with a start.

Before her was the dark sky, and a anxious, tearful, pure white figure.

“Hyacinth!”

Iris hugged Hyacinth, who was lying on the ground, her voice choked with sobs.

“I thought you wouldn't wake up! I kept calling you, kept calling you… but…”

“Ah…”

Hyacinth, or rather, Nan Xiaofeng, looked blankly at Iris, who was hugging her.

Not far away were the huge remnants of the Monster that had been riddled with magic cannon fire, making it unimaginable what that Monster had gone through.

Indeed, that just now was also a dream.

Nan Xiaofeng recalled what happened before she lost consciousness:

The defeated Mud Monster suddenly reappeared from the lotus pond, and she, caught off guard, inhaled the scent of the flowers on its body, and then lost consciousness.

Recalling it now, she must have had that strange dream just now while she was unconscious.

“Are you okay? Do you feel anything wrong with your body?” Iris asked anxiously.

Nan Xiaofeng smiled bitterly and shook her head.

“Don't worry, I'm just… a little dizzy. I'll be fine after a physical examination later.”

She was clearly the experienced senior, but she was protected by Iris instead.

Hyacinth stood up straight, sighing softly while leaning on her greatsword.

Yesterday, she was dragged into a dream by Xin Yuehu's puppet Monster and had a dream even stranger than today's.

…Although today's dream wasn't exactly normal either.

That feeling of being played like a fiddle was very annoying!

But even though she knew it was annoying, she couldn't forget the scenes from the dream.

It seemed that not only Hua Ling's condition was bad, but her own condition was also quite bad.

One dream was about an unfamiliar little Fox Fox, and in another, she actually dreamed of Jiayu Jie and Tianqing Jie.

Two Golden Foxes, yet they showed completely different sides.

…I should find a chance to talk to Jiayu Jie.

…Or rather, talk to Tianqing Jie?
