Chapter 9: If you like it, just A it.

“Hello. Can we be friends?”

Looking at the delicate handwriting on the note, Nan Jiayu felt flustered.

She was late for her first class on the first day of freshman year, only rushing in for the second class, and by the time she entered the classroom, there were hardly any seats left.

Then she happened to glimpse a fluffy, loli Golden Fox sprawled in the corner. Curious, she mustered the courage to approach.

She didn't expect such an immediate impact.

“F-f-f-f-friends… of course…”

The petite Cat Girl’s cheeks were flushed. The words she subconsciously wanted to reject caught in her throat, and it took her a long time of stuttering to finally utter an incomplete sentence.

The adorable little Fox Fox in front of her wore a brilliant smile, as radiant as the bright moon, dazzling Nan Jiayu’s eyes.

She pulled out her phone, added the friend, and acted swiftly.

“Hello there.”

Looking at the message on her phone, Nan Jiayu became even more nervous.

“Hello.”

“My name is Su Tianqing. What’s your name?”

Su Tianqing…

Recalling the strange tradition that all Fox people shared the surname Su, Nan Jiayu didn't pay too much attention to the name.

“Nan Jiayu. Nice to meet you.”

“That’s a very lovely name.”

Seeing this sentence on the screen, the Cat Girl’s fingers trembled violently twice, her cat tail bristled, and even the tip of her nose turned red.

“Thank you.” After a long silence, she tremblingly typed out these two words.

.

After class, watching the petite Cat Girl, her face flushed, bid her farewell and leave, Su Tianqing gently waved to her, watching the Cat Girl leave the classroom.

How did that saying go? Easily handled!

How could a Cat Cat resist such a passionate offensive, not to mention she was still an adorable little Fox Fox right now? The advantage was hers!

After tidying up her textbooks, Fox Fox, as always, tightened her tail and stretched her body, then collapsed into a fluffy ball on the desk.

The long-lost youth seemed to have returned, and this feeling wasn't bad at all.

But on second thought, that Cat Girl just now seemed to have a strange aura about her. Was it her imagination?

After thinking for a long time without figuring out what that aura was, Su Tianqing simply gave up trying.

It was already nearing lunchtime, and the classroom quickly became empty. Fox Fox pulled out her secret codex from her satchel, spread it open on her lap, and eagerly flipped to the task bar.

“Task Complete: Possess a Magic Girl Codename, Long-Held Wish.”

The heavy follower task and codename task were completed. Coupled with the two daily tasks successfully closed yesterday, the number of divine code stones in her pocket went from a precarious 100 to 1000, which was a huge sum!

The anonymous account “Magic Girl Fox Fox Official” already had 500 followers, and with the announcement from the Rongcheng Hero Association, the number of fans coming by reputation was still continuously increasing.

Su Tianqing’s mood was delightful, and her tail wagged vigorously.

Flipping two pages forward, without looking at today’s tasks for now, Fox Fox immediately looked at the divine code stone shopping page in the secret codex.

These items were the main point!

As a villain, always using the same method to deal with the legitimate Magic Girls was absolutely unfeasible. Only by changing up her tactics could she achieve the best results.

For example, the expensive and wonderful gadget Su Tianqing had her eye on yesterday perfectly suited her taste:

“Magic Power Detector: 500 divine code stones.”

“Detects nearby magic power fluctuations, accurately determining the location of Monsters and Magic Girls.”

This was a divine artifact among divine artifacts!

Perhaps to accommodate her as a beginner, the secret codex initially gave her a message about a Monster appearing, but it didn't show up again yesterday, probably because the trial period had expired.

If she could consistently use this ability to predict the appearance of Monsters, Su Tianqing had already thought of at least ten different ways to play.

As for what to buy with the remaining 500 divine code stones…

“River Crab Catching Device: 100 divine code stones.”

“Passive Skill: Your videos will never be taken down.”

Buy it!

Without any hesitation, Su Tianqing decisively bought it, pulled out her phone, opened her video account, and quickly re-uploaded the original video.

Now let’s see who can take down the video!

After looking at a few more pages, Fox Fox decided to stop for now.

The gadgets later on all looked interesting, but she didn’t know what effects they could combine to create yet, so it was better to hoard the divine code stones for now. Anyway, there was plenty of time, so let’s look at today’s tasks first.

Flipping to the task page, several lines of text appeared on the paper.

“Daily Task 1: Rest, Completed.”

“The Magic Girls look very tired. Do something for yourself today.”

“Reward: 100 divine code stones.”

Huh?

Her fox ears perked up, then drooped back to the top of her head.

What, she thought there would be a very exciting follow-up task today, but it turns out that Hyacinth was already tired.

That’s fine too. Others are just students, after all. If she played too hard and made them graduate from being Magic Girls, then she wouldn't have anyone to be a villain to.

Fox Fox sat up straight and let out a long sigh.

It just so happened that she also wanted to experience university life all over again. Since she could relax today, she might as well give herself a day off!

She could wander around nearby, try some of the local specialty snacks, and also plan for her future life.

After all, being a villain Magic Girl couldn't be a career. What if she couldn't even make ends meet?

Thinking of this, Su Tianqing pulled out her phone and took a look.

The book she submitted internally yesterday had passed the review. She could go shopping in the vicinity this afternoon, and also buy some daily necessities. In the evening, she would go home to write and earn some money for food. Life was fulfilling and beautiful.

“Grrr—”

Her stomach protested loudly.

Su Tianqing closed the secret codex, turned off her phone, stood up with her satchel, and lightly stood on tiptoes, as if she had made up her mind.

Hmm, she’d go to the university cafeteria for lunch. It was cheap, large portions, and filling.

Fox Fox turned and took a step.

But before her first step was even out, as her peripheral vision swept past the classroom doorway, a hastily hiding dark blue figure appeared in her sight.

The Cat Girl Nan Jiayu. Hadn't she already left? Why was she still here?

Seeing this, Su Tianqing tiptoed to the door, suddenly poked her head out, and met the gaze of the dark blue Cat Girl shrinking behind the door.

“Meow-wa-ah-ah-ah-ah?!”

The Cat Girl was scared out of her wits, her whole body bristling.

“Hehe, did I scare you?” The mischievous Fox Fox jumped out from behind the door with a wicked smile, saying, “I thought you had already left. Are you waiting for me here specifically?”

“Ah… that…”

Looking at the bright and outgoing Golden Fox who just charged at her, Nan Jiayu’s cheeks were flushed, and she didn't know how to answer.

Actually, she had intended to leave immediately.

But the inexplicably attractive aura about Su Tianqing made Nan Jiayu stop, and as if by some ghostly impulse, she returned to the classroom door, secretly watching the Golden Fox who was still in the classroom after class, flipping through a strange book.

Watching her ears occasionally perk up high, the Cat Girl’s curiosity grew even stronger.

And so she had waited until now.

The Golden Fox took half a step back, her toes lightly tapping the ground, her tail slowly swaying behind her, and her pair of clear, bright green eyes shone.

“Since that’s the case, want to go eat together?”

An enthusiastic invitation from an adorable little Fox Fox was simply impossible to refuse.
